It's almost over.

Well, not quite. But the Democratic presidential primaries taking place on Tuesday in North Carolina and Indiana have more delegates up for grabs than any of the remaining contests. For political, demographic and mathematical reasons, those states have the potential to reshape the competition between Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

Clinton rules via Keith Olberman -
Only one vote really matters: The fifty something conservative, registered, Democrat whose not Independent, but not a part of the base, and skipped college so that they could go straight into teaching, rather than become a casino worker, who votes on domestic issues, but not in a primary or caucus in a big state that doesn't border Illinois, that has elected female governors or members of Congress but didn't vote Republican in 2004, who won't vote Republican in 2008, and didn't vote for Jesse Jackson in 1984 or 1988 during all day voting except between the hours of 7:00 and 7:15pm. Only to object to their vote being overruled by Super Delegates.

Watching MSNBC this morning is making me sick to my stomach, if Joe could be any more bias he would be pulling a paycheck from Hilary's campaign. What we should be asking ourselves is why the MSM is so intent on killing HOPE.

Its amazing how hillary MADE the media talk openly and recognize the reall struggle of the poor and working class in this country and it makes no difference if this GAS TAX thing works or not. Working class american is being heard world wide. The media is saying people will just save 30 -40 dollars , and people are saying yeah thtas 30-40 dollars in my pocket.

That speaks directly to my Aunt in PA who cant afford food because her check goes directly to filling up her car inorder to get to work.

My my, extraordinary how many Hillary supporters have an aunt or a distant cousin or a step-niece who lives check to check, slaves to their cars, going to the pump dressed in tatters. Gee, how convenient.

Actually people are saying they know Hillary is shamelessly pandering for votes, check those polls hun.

We all know how this goes, Obama wins one state, Hillary another, the talking heads prattle on, not covering the news but using the news to shape and manipulate the masses into adopting their agendas based on the idea that what comes out of their mouths is fact. They want, no, they need this story to go on, so they can avoid covering real happenings. What in the world will you people (media) do if and when we elect a new president?

Hillary's political future is bleak. She will not only lose the nomination, but she will lose her Senate seat.

She will lose her NY Senate seat.

*** "The math still favors Senator Obama, no matter what happens Tuesday," Mr. Klain said.
But then he offered a caveat that could work in Mrs. Clinton"s favor. "This is the ultimate what-have-you-done-for-me-lately business," he said, "and the more recent victories are going to count in people"s mind more than those older victories." ***
That last is worrisome---Hillary can indeed argue that all of his delegate triumphs and his popular vote count, came before the scandals that have plagued him, and that things have changed, she will insist that the change means that he isn't that electable in November. You don't have to like Hillary (and I don't) to see the strength of the argument. I doubt any Obama supporters (including myself) would make a fuss if it was the other way around and Obama was the one making this argument.

No other candidate would be allowed to mortgage the future of the party for their own personal gain. If the roles were reversed, Obama would have dropped out after the 11 straight victories by his opponent.

I live in Indianapolis and I'm very proud to say that I have gone out and cast my vote. I voted for change. I voted for honesty. I voted for my grandchildren. I voted for the future.
I voted against pandering. I voted against Bush/ Clinton/ Bush/ Clinton. I voted against another 100 years at war in Iraq. I voted against the so called gas tax holiday. I voted against Hillary because I'm tired of being lied to year after year after year.

I voted for Barack Obama!!!

Report from Indiana...The religious right and their friends are voting against Obama today...they seem to hate black people more than they hate White Women Feminists.

It this group turns out in big numbers like many people are predicting Hillary could win by 15-18% a little less a little more.

As I said, Indiana is nothing more than Upper Kentucky. People differed with me when I said there was no way that Obama wins Indiana. It's the state that vote for Bush 60/40, gave us Dan Quayle (Bush Jr. before Bush), and the revival of the KKK. Idaho is a politically more progressive state than (most of) Indiana.

In April 2008 when Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita announced the release of "record high" voter registration rolls, with 4.3 million voters set to vote in the Tuesday May 6 primary, he didn't mention that a whopping 1,134,427 voter registrations have been cancelled.

Now, the voter rolls are supposed to be tidied up prior to each election. Indiana's last general election was in Nov. 2006, and they have had a slew of special and general elections since then. So how have 1.1 million voters -- 26 percent of the current statewide list -- escaped the regularly scheduled voter registration cleanup squads? Who are these million voters and where do they come from?

One quarter-million of them come from just two northwestern Indiana counties: Lake and Porter. Lake County reports purging 137,164 voters and neighboring Porter County cancelled out 124,958 voters.

Lake County, the home of Gary, Indiana, has spawned the Jackson Five and a great old musical (The Music Man) and and has been referred to as "the second most liberal county in America." Lake County has one of the heaviest concentrations of African-American voters that you'll find anywhere in the USA.

Nearby Porter County, the home of Valparaiso, is 95% white and went solidly for Bush in the 2004 election. It also has a lot of college kids.

Nigeria: Militants May Suspend Attacks After Obama's Plea

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has said it is considering a temporary cessation of hostilities in the oil-producing region based on an appeal by United States presidential hopeful, Senator Barack Obama.

"The MEND command is seriously considering a temporary ceasefire appeal by Senator Barack Obama. Obama is someone we respect and hold in high esteem. The period of halting attacks, we hope, when considered, will afford the Nigerian government the opportunity to address the issues with Henry Okah, including improving his living conditions and having access to a bible which he has requested for but was denied," they said.

yeah well too bad these wins cant be carried over to the GE !!!!!!

cause then Obama might be able to win the GE

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:53 AM on 05/06/2008

What's lost on Hillary, who thinks only the big states should count (since she wins them), is that Obama's huge margins with higher than average turnouts in some of those smaller red states means the Democrats might take those states this November, if Obama is the nominee.

That math must be too hard for Hillary's campaign.

hey McCain can win NY, This GE race will be ALLL about the VP slot, a 2 party system will alwyas have a give and take. LOOK how did Arnold win CA???????

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:55 AM on 05/06/2008

I'm surprised the media does not make anything of the margins by which Obama has won some of those red states.

It's actually possible that with Obama against McCain, some of the red states could go blue this November for the first in a very long time.

Kansas has not gone blue since LJB. Kansas chose Obama with 74% and there were ten times normal turnouts at the caucuses, even though people had to stand for hours in a freezing rain. I've never seen that kind of enthusiasm for a political candidate.

Ms. Clinton wants to give people a whopping $28.00 and she wants to claim that she knows about the hardships of average americans? Has this lady ever worked on an assembly line? How about working in a clean room where you have to stand on your feet for 12 hours? This lady knows nothing about the troubles of average worker. Like Bush she won't listen to anyone. Unlike Bush she can't claim that she has brain damage from years of snorting cocaine and excessive drinking.

Let's keep one extremely important point in mind: both of these states are red states. Indiana has not gone for a Democrat in a national election since 1964. That's why Clinton is campaigning there as a Republican. Neither Democrat will win it in the fall. North Carolina is the same--it's a red state. With its high African-American population, however, there's a slight possibility Obama could make it a swing state in November. Hillary would almost certainly lose there.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:36 AM on 05/06/2008

Anyway why should a Democrat campaign as a Republican just to win votes?

I prefer Obama, who is the same person every day, every week, every hour. He is the real deal.

Hillary is a chameleon, telling everybody what she thinks they want to hear. She's become a phony.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:18 AM on 05/06/2008

In some of the red states, Obama bested Hillary with huge margins and higher than normal turnouts, lots of newly registered voters.

I think we'll see some surprises in November if Obama is the nominee, with red states going blue.

i was watching "morning joe" today, and they were talking about an article in the wall street journal about why this long nomination process is so good for the democrats... how we're learning all about senators obama and clinton... then joe scarborough said something like:

"this will be good for barack obama when he runs against john mccain in the fall."

WHEN.

not IF.

WHEN.
