The transparent nature of the first lady, she'll probably be runing for president in a few years like Hillary. Both have gone way over their fifteen minutes of fame !
LIKE HER MOTHER-IN-LAW, she has a "let them eat cake" attitude! Soon, it will be "off with their heads," because the American people will not allow this to go much farther!!! People are starving and losing their homes, and the cavalier Bushian attitudes are not going over very well with us! Marching in the streets will become as common as the starving that is becoming commonplace in this once great country!!! Bushes are now equated with old insensitive royalty!!!
YAWN...ho hum... who the hell cares if one of the Bush litter, those former drunken college girls, is getting hitched.
When did she become the spokesman for this thief-and-thug administration. They could not find somebody to speak for them, or just taking a photo op.
Did she come out and speak for the people in the Katrina disaster ? Did she do anything to help the Katrina people. So Evangelical, so Christian ???? or is it hypocritical ??? whatever !!!!!
.
GW went to Louisiana, took a couple pictures with the victims, like he cared, or just used the victims for publicity. Then, nothing much has been done so far.
Heck of a job Brownie ! Cick, Click, Click, Pictures taken, Mission accoplished.
Cant wait till the msm has to start reporting on bush, cheney ,rumdum ,rove complicity in 9/11.Stay tuned its a comin.
I'm no fan of any of the Bushes, but I have to wonder if her remarks concerning the wedding were at her initiative or in response to reporters' questioning.
Shows to go you just what our Press is all about!
It was questions as she was leaving the conference.
Her statements on Burma were magnificent. Obviously HuffPo is more interested in wedding gossip than in humanitarian crises.
"Myanmar?
My goodness, whats that.... I thought he said money marriage!"
Wow Laura said somethng insensitive. Do we recall what GW's momma Barb said March 18th 2003?
"Why should we hear about body bags, and death... I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that." Barbara Bush on ABC
I mean really should any of us be thnking about the consequences of George Bush's invasion and occupation based on his LIES upon LIES upon LIES - He and his family certainly don't unless it impacts the election or the bottom line.
Barbara also said the New Orleans residents being temporarily put up in Houston after Hurricane Katrina were "underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."
Sure, Barbara. Losing everything they owned, including irreplacable family items, photographs, and the family pet, not to mention their churches, jobs, and schools, were all compensated by the pleasures of life on a cot in the Houston Astrodome.
Please explain how responding to a question is "insensitive". Then give me your nutjob theory on how she either used her mind powers to get someone to ask the question, or somehow threw her voice to ask it herself.
Leave Pickles alone. She sounded like any mother who was planning a wedding. Proud and Happy. Anyone who has a problem with her answering a question she was asked needs a break from politics. Making an issue over this trivial conversation makes the left look just like the worse elements of the right wing.
My problem is with her giving the question any more than a perumptory response and a request to stay focussed on the people of Myanmar.
The traditional media can be expected to ask stupid and irrelevant questions, and I suppose members of the Bush family can be expected to think it's all about them.
After all, people would really rather hear about exciting wedding plans than depressing details of the thousands of people killed by a cyclone and the many thousands more left homeless. It takes their minds off their drab and inconsequential lives.
"What do the simple folk do ..."
/sarcasm
Come on. Her husband may be a monster, but her daughter actually turned out all right (a few mishaps in her early adult years not withstanding.) Her daughter at this point seems very much to be a beautiful and smart women, and judging by her recent statements possibly leaning towards being a liberal.
Her daughter is getting married in just a few days and she's proud of that. Don't let your hate turn your heart so black you can't be happy for her on this special occasion.
Hell ! It's all "collateral damage."
Hey genius! She answered the question, then was asked another, then another.
Hmmmm. So, where was the Puppet? Perhaps recovering from an extended conference with Jack Daniels?
If she had the least bit of class she would not have answered questions about the wedding at this particular time. Quite tasteless don't you think? I would expect a person of this stature to know better.
No, actually, I don't. Did you see the press conference? Or are you just going by second hand information and the opinions of others?
I saw it as well, and I agree with you. Whatever you may feel about the policies of her husband, it was good that she was out there discussing the tragedy in Myanmar, and the majority of the press conference was focused on that issue.
But she is still a mom, and that's what moms do when they are asked about their son's or daughter's upcoming weddings.
And, as far as Jenna and her college days go, well, it looked pretty mild from what I saw. Who didn't have one too many back then?
Those Ass Kissing, Pandering, so called intellectuals are just pathetic, no wonder this country is so messed up.
Everything Gw & Laura do is "inappropriate" to decent human beings.
It's kinda thier "thing".
This press conference was the very LEAST of it. At least she pretended to care about a tragedy.
Who gives a flying fuck what she thinks about anything anyway. It seems to be a characteristic of this family to minimize someone else's tragedy (look at Bush' response to Katrina) except in cases where it can be politically advantageous (look at Terri Schiavo).
Look I like a good Bush pilling on as much as the next person but your post seems to be way off the mark.
From what I now understand (came as a complete shock) Laura actually has been very interested in the problems in Myanmar for some time which is why she gave the official response.
It didn't seem to me (or anyone watching objectively) that she was minimizing the tragedy at all. It was the exact opposite. It was basically "Hey Burma, I know we hate each other but let's put that aside for right now and PLEASE PLEASE accept our help so more of your people don't have to die"
I actually found it refreshing to see Laura so versed on this tragedy and so passionate to help.
If anyone should be attacked it's the leaders of Burma who are such freaking monsters they would rather let tens of thousands more of their citizens die than accept outside aid.
Pathetic.
Every thing about these odious frauds is frikkin a lie! bu$hler don't build zhit, see?
It was the freak's IDEA. The quarry guys BUILT it.
"[It] was his idea to build this beautiful limestone altar," the First Lady told reporters of the now-permanent fixture at the family's Crawford, Texas ranch – where their daughter will wed on May 10. "It's the same thing that our house is made of from a local quarry. And they're the ones that made it."
I wonder, what does he propose to sacrifice on this altar? The Constitution, perhaps?
hmmmmmmmmm...seems like someone who is so interested in humanity might start with the citizens of her own country, the ones who are supporting her and her lovely little homegrown Texas quarry.
God it is scary to think of more bushes coming into the world - is there some kind of aerosol birth control?
22,500 Dead in Myanmar; 4000 plus dead soldiers; and even more post suicides; and the bush's do it again; telling us about their party plans. Does it ever stop with this family??
Give me a break. They have been more low key about this wedding than anyother presidential offsprings wedding in the history of this country. That's a fact you can look it up.
She didn't bring it up, she was asked about it by a reporter.
The reporter should be scorned for asking such a trivial quesiton during such a serious matter.
Sure Laura should have said that she isn't going to discuss that at this time. But give me a break. She was out there because she feels passionately about the problems in Burma. Of course that doesn't make up for the thousands of mistakes and lives this president has caused.
But let's not start making things up to attack them for when there are so many real issues.
This woman has chutzpah indeed. What about how we responded to Hurricane Katrina? These people are the worst and Laura is definitely a stepford wife. Does she have the beggining of Parkinsons' Disease. her head is always bobbing.
All the RePUKE wives are Stepfords. That's one of thier reaquirements!!! Do you remember Pat Nixon, Mamie Eisenhower, Betty Ford (ALL ALCOHOLICS!) Cindy McCain (DRUG ADDICT!) Who knows about some of the others? They hide their emotions, become zombies, and allow their needs to go unmet, in favor of the needs of their husband. Sad but true!!! We don't know if Laura drinks, but we sure know she smokes!!! Look at those little lines around her lips!!! (SMOKING!)
didn't anyone notice...Mrs.bush while walking away, said "Thank you for letting me talk about Burma".
Isn't called Myanmar now?
She gives librarians a bad name.
A simple search would have yielded the answer to your question; but since you can't be bothered.
The United States officiallly refers to the country as Burma.
The country officially refers to itself as Myanmar.
If you want the background info you're going to have to stop being so lazy and do your own research.
