Obama On O'Reilly: "Looking Forward" To Going On The Factor

Is Obama headed to the O'Reilly Factor? It sure sounds like it, according to his interview this morning on Fox and Friends, where he claimed: "We're gonna see if we can fit it in." Of course, the last time he tried to make time for a Fox interview with Chris Wallace, it took two years for him to get there. Here's hoping for another 2-year wait.

Obama is not tied to the Oil industry. The bill he voted for (along with 24 other democrats) actually RAISED taxes for the oil companies. If either democrat is "more oil" it would be Hillary. She voted agaisnt the tax increase for oil companies, and is for the gas tax holiday, which would increase oil company profits. Obama's positionwas backed up by 230 economists who released a letter Monday to oppose the gas tax holiday. As a Moveon supporter I was disappointed in them. Obama did the right thing here by going to Fixed News. They attack him everyday on that network he has every right to defend himself and his campaign. He did a great job with Wallace. Bill Clinton overreacted with Wallace and lost his temper. Edwards had more than enough money to compete in the initial races. He simply didn't get the votes. Second, your premise regarding fundraising misses a key differentiating factor between how Clinton and Obama have raised money. One has a core set of large donors and the other has relied heavily on lots of small donors. You can argue the merits of individual candidates as long as you want, but my guess is that you aren't proposing a different process than the one currently in place - whoever gets the most votes wins. Therefore it doesn't seem your post is intended to do anything more than express your frustration that your preferred candidate did not win (or, in the case of Gore, even run).

The last I heard, Fox's ratings have dropped and they refuse to reveal what the actual numbers are. Fox is Number 1 only for people who are likely to share their views, which are essentially rabid conservatives and Republicans and very gullible people who call themselves Democrats! Most Democrats I know do NOT watch Fox, although I used to watch it just to know what the enemy is thinking! But if you really think that "O'Reilly is the best friend you have," you have really been suckered in by the propaganda.
