Politico:

Matt Seyfang points out to me that, after Tuesday, we'll pass a milestone: There will be more superdelegates than pledged delegates left to fight over.

There are currently 404 pledged delegates left to be allocated; that number will be down to 217 Wednesday. By comparison, there are roughly 275 unpledged delegates (automatic and add-ons) still up for grabs.

Does anyone else worry that when Obama clinches this nomination, Hillary will still be behind his azz trying to "win" the nomination??

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:26 AM on 05/05/2008

No. Why is it that no one on/in here lives in reality? Hillary has already said she will be his staunchest supporter should he eek out the nomination. I believe it was Shelly O. who said she "would have to think about it" when asked if she would support Hillary if she were the nominee. Talk about bitter!

I do not want to see Hillary campaigning for Obama.

She has hurt the nation enough. She should just disappear from public life and finish doing her job as Senator. She will only keep poisoning the water.

The answer is NO. She's isn't even pretending well. She's doing everything possible to undermine him, do you really think she's going to be behind him. Ha! Then you believe that story about those bullets whizzing around her head.

And Michelle said exactly what she what she felt. Can you handle the truth? Of course not.

you mean the reality in which hillary has to win every contest by huge margins to even close the lead on obama? the reality in which the only way hillary is able to get the nomination is by bullying the superdelegates into overturning the pledged delegate votes?

Come on professor.

I wouldn't even have to think about it. I wouldn't support Clinton if was running for dogcatcher! And I don't believe her when she says she'll support Obama. She'll do everything she can to sabotage his campaign. She has already done everything she can to weaken him for the GE with her refusal to face reality and get out now.

Clinton has NO way to win this cleanly without destroying the Democratic Party. So yes, her "win-at-all-costs" strategy has made me "bitter" about her as a candidate.

She should say "Vote for Obama" and just disappear. I do not want any of her (b)ilk anywhere near Our next POTUS. Talk about unneeded associations.

The nation needs to heal.

We need to heal from Hillary and her slash-and-infect politics.

This race for the nomination turned bitter when she turned to dirty politics. It is all her fault.

Even after he wins the GE, she'll be at his inauguration screaming, "No! No! Really, people, I won! It belongs to me!!"

Hillary will "pretend" to help him as the nominee, but all the while stabbing him in the back or worse. The Clinton's will stop at nothing for power, and to get back into the White House. She will go out of her way to help John McCain, so that he will win. She will then try again in 2012. But, Hillary forgets that we will all remember all of her antics.

I think she was happy to see John Kerry "lose" for the very same reason.

HRC needs 416 more delegates
Obama needs 285
there are 404 pledged delgates left
there is no way at this point for her to win without the pledged delegate lead Obama has being overturned
she cannot win, but she is willing to go on and distroy the party to try to
SAD

After NC the gap between Hillary and Obama in delegates will be almost as big as the amount of delegates Obama needs to clinch the nomination. Thus Hillary would need to win over 2-1 of the remaining delegates. It isn't going to happen.

For months I've been fearing that the superdelegates would overturn the will of the pledged delegates. Now, after seeing how many people are still falling for Clinton's pseudo-populist pandering, I'm actually starting to see the wisdom of having superdelegates, because, by and large, they are seeing Hillary for what she really is: a divisive, lying, polarizing, selfish, win-at-all-costs, demagogue-in-the-making. After Tuesday, she will need to win all the remaining primaries by huge margins AND win over about 60% of the undeclared superdelegates. Highly improbable.

I do agree that the super delegates will not dare to overturn the vote, which just goes to show that they are truly unneeded. All the points you have made re Hillary I could not agree with more. The majority of participating voters have made their decision. Somehow a good many of America has realized that MSM is full of shite.

too bad hrc did not have a good game plan and run/manage a good campaign - perhaps then she would have been the leader in delegates at this point!!!!!

After the past few days of hearing Hillary use the word "obliterate" another country -

I believe the Uncommitted SuperDelegates in Congress must endorse Barack Obama.

Hillary's refusal to apologize for making those statements-even after she learns the UN has been contacted because of her comments:

The rest of the SuperDelegates need to jump ship and instead endorse Barack Obama.

honestly, can't we all acknowledge reality?
This race is OVER!!!!!

if Hillary Clinton is successful in her Hostile Takeover via DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee on May 31
she would still have to win the remaining states and StuporDs by more than 70%

it's not gonna happen.

onward!

Clinton clearly ahead in IN! Obama falls from double digit lead to just 8pts in NC! See ya Barry!

Here are the basics of what each candidate needs: Assuming he wins half of the delegates tomorrow (93), Obama needs just 38% of ALL remaining delegates to get to the magic number of 2,025. If Clinton wins 94 delegates on Tuesday, she will need 66% of all remaining delegates. In addition, assuming that delegate split tomorrow, then Clinton will need 85% of all remaining PLEDGED delegates to catch Obama for the lead in that category. Moreover, if Clinton simply wanted to cut Obama's pledged delegate lead to 100, she'd need to win 62% of all remaining delegates after tomorrow. As we've noted before, the math is certainly difficult for Clinton.

awww math too hard for ya hun?

As "we've" noted? Hun? btw I'm a Math Professor idiot! All of your math beamed in from Barry's HQ doesn't change the fact that every poll shows Hillary beating McCain while Obama......struggles at best. More importantly, Hillary clearly wins the states that matter (OH, FL, MI etc..not ID, UT and MT! ) McCain beats Barry in nearly every one. If Barry were ahead in those states and Hillary was down, I'd be all for Obama. You see, I am a democrat who wants a Democratic President.

The endless amount of spin is mind boggling: Ca. super delegates would *reconsider* if Hillary "fails to make significant gains in the remaining month of presidential nominating contests"--as if there was still a chance for Hillary to reclaim her lead!

What constitutes "significant" gains? Do these people expect Hillary to win 70-80% of all remaining contests?

A total non-story.

Math ain't pretty for Clinton (but then again she probably thinks math is elitist)

MSNBC:
"Here are the basics of what each candidate needs: Assuming he wins half of the delegates tomorrow (93), Obama needs just 38% of ALL remaining delegates to get to the magic number of 2,025.
