Al Gore was interviewed on National Public Radio about his book, The Assault on Reason, but he also spoke about the Democratic presidential race. Here are some key excerpts:

"Even though it has gone on much longer than is normal in the age of primaries and caucuses, nevertheless I think the odds are overwhelming that it will tip rather decisively in one way or the other before the convention even meets."

Seems the Great Goracle has been thrown under the bus.
The Implosion gets more entertaining as the year goes on.

Sweet Jebus. I just read a couple more pages of this thread. I know how hateful Democrats can be. I'm a Nader voter. But I cant believe y'all are going off on Gore like this. No wonder he wants to stay out of it.

The people on this site don't represent most Democrats - it's mostly college students or people living with their parents who think acting "tough" online is thrilling. You have to remember that.

In fact they're so lame that you almost have to believe they're actually Republicans trying to make Democrats look bad.I'm not sure anyone who works on Obama's campaign reads anything here but I have some advice for them during the next election because their candidate won't win this time:

Be VERY careful about relying on places like HP or other online political "newspapers" for support. Be VERY careful about relying on lots of college students for support - they have a tendency to act like immature bullies who only make your candidate look bad. Give them a few years out in the world and they will realize manners are important. Be VERY careful about having ANY association with HP or any online political "newspaper" or ANY online site - have your people do it the way people used to. Go door to door and talk to people.

And this is coming from someone who wanted Obama to get the nomination. He isn't going to be President and all his online fans do is make his supporters seem like immature brats with a cultish mentality. So best of luck to you in the future - don't give up hope.

OH, Christ Gore !

You, and Edwards are both cut from the same cloth !

1st, and foremost, you both are politicians !

Secondly, you both remain as supreme opportunists !

You both continue to think of yourselves 1st, and this Country 2nd.

Obviously you have been spending way too much time caressing your Nobel, and way to little time interacting with the "Working Class" American.

Many had higher hopes for both yourself, and Edwards !

As it stand"s right now, Mr. Gore, and Mr. Edwards, you both represent a significant liability, rather then an asset to this Country !

And both you have a carbon footprint that would put Sasquatch to shame.

You'll need a lot of metamucil and prune juice, Mr. Gore, to move a "bowel movement" as poisonous as Hillary Clinton.

More food riots & starvation today.

I hope that algore and his green sheep understand the worldwide suffering that they are causing.

If anyone has ever deserved to be brought before the world court, tried & imprisoned, it's algore.

John Coleman is working on that for selling carbon offsets as fraud.

So you think global warming fanatics are responsible for food riots and starvation? That's kind of stupid.

If he had endorsed Obama, most of the posters on here would be falling all over themselves about what a brilliant, fair, balanced guy Gore is. Because he decides to let the voters make up their own minds, he's a bad guy to many on here.

" I haven't been moved to endorse".

Yeah right, we all saw what happened to Howard Dean after Uncle Al endorsed him.

Aaaaarrrrgggggghhhhhh!!!

Al "P.T. Barnum" Gore's endorsement is the kiss of death.

Shame on you Huffington Post! You could have used a better picture than that but it's funny...

Hell, he looks slim & trim as ever to me.

The only thing with a bigger carbon footprint than algore is algore's mansion.

The expression on his face makes him look like an idiot.

John Edwards 29,000 sq. ft. mansion and what he cleared 100 acres? God, these guys are a joke and prey on gullible people.

I think Gore may yet play a large role in this election. Who knows what kind of bad blood is between him and the Clinton's. They sure didn't help him in 2000.

Yeah, Al. Keep being the wimp you -- and other current Democratic leaders -- always have been. It sure is time for a change.

Gee. So many people bitching about Al Gore. He doesn't owe you anything.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:46 PM on 05/06/2008

Like hell he doesn't. Millions of people have given their time, money and votes to him because they expected him to be a leader. Yeah, we're all chumps, Al, so that you and the Clintons can make millions off of us after we have given our hearts to you.

Al Gore ran for president in 2000. He won but it was stolen from him. That was more than 7 years ago. Its over. He doesn't owe you anything. What politician are you giving your time, money and heart? to now. Do you think you own them for life? You don't.

I listened to this on NPR today. Whenever Gore talked about the current Presidential Primary, I was struck with how much he sounded like a typical old-school politician. His answers consisted of

"... words, words,words,...talk,talk,talk....not saying anything at all...more words,words,words."

Very disappointing.

Both HRC and Obama don't exactly inspire anyone, really.

Take two steps back and have a good long look and they both ... quite frankly ... suck.

You have an empty suit, and then you have Hillary. Need I say more?

I don't mind if Al Gore keeps gaining weight because then there's just more of him to love.
