Oprah's highly-touted interview with Barbara Walters ran today, and it was every bit as juicy, if not necessarily newsy, as expected (many of the things Barbara dished about were already public, except for the Edward Brooke affair, which came out last week, though it was still exciting to hear Barbara talk about them).

One highlight appears below, where Barbara and Oprah congratulate themselves for, while both of them have at points in their lives been the "other woman," neither of them was a mistress (which they define as a woman who is "taken care of" by the married man she is sleeping with).

When more and more women lose dignity, it is certain indication that a society is rotting to the core!

For when the mothers are loose, what values can they pass on to the next generation, pass on to their young?

The morals of the entertainment/news industry are a reflection of its members.

What is the message to young women here? That screwing a married man is fine so long as you remain financially independent? Paying your own rent doesn't make adultery acceptable! Sheesh...

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:25 PM on 05/10/2008

Simply trashy...

May be teach the youngs, not to be so empty headed and irresponsible...

Gee, Michelle my belle, looks better and better in comparison !

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:36 PM on 05/10/2008

No worries. I really doubt Baba Wawa is Obama's type.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:10 PM on 05/10/2008

Please ladies keep this stuff to yourselves. How narcissistic-all I can say is that Michelle should be careful and not let Barack out of her sight when Barbara Wawa comes knockin'.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:58 AM on 05/10/2008

What a shameless behavior from both of the tiresome ladies !
Now Barbara, proudly brags about having an affair with a married man , few of these types are known to regret such behavior much later. Barbara never displayed that, shows how ruthless this woman could be...
In NY times book review, on section Walters brags, Sadat`s wife admitted to her , Barbara was the only woman she was jealous of ? What for ? Mrs. Sadar had the grace , charm and the beauty that Barbara always lacked...

Why is it always the woman who gets labeled like a campbell's soup can? If the men were not out there looking for sex outside of married, this discussion would be a moot point.
IT TAKES TWO BABY.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 08:09 AM on 05/10/2008

Yes, the men are just as bad as these two 'women' BUT the men envolved were not on TV celebrating like these two were. That is why they are labeled here.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:26 PM on 05/10/2008

Thats not why they were labeled. THEY were labeled as are ALL women who engage in a relationship with a married man. Its still called GENDER BIAS.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:48 PM on 05/10/2008

And your point is? Its ok? You are probably living in a time warp and still fighting the women's lib movement of 60's, and have not noticed the world move on by. Or maybe it left you behind!

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:42 AM on 05/11/2008

Yep, yep, and yep again. After all, nine times out of ten it the MAN who is married, not the woman. So SHE is not bound by any legal or moral ties. (Especially depending on her religious beliefs).

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 10:57 AM on 05/10/2008

Disgusting! And they actually shook hands with pride about it! Says a lot about those two sorry excuses of humans, their stupid applauding audience, and women's general redefinition of morality when it suits them.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 07:33 AM on 05/10/2008

I sick and tired of both of these women. At least one of them is retiring.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:38 AM on 05/10/2008

They were clients, not Johns.
Guilty, thirty days or thirty dollars!

We were lovers, not mistresses.
Oy, not so guilty; go home, write books!

This conversation reminds me of two women working in a brothel saying they are not hookers because they don't walk the streets.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:49 AM on 05/09/2008

Right on the money!

Appreciated reading the blogs about this newsflash. Oprah's magizine this month is about Spirituality, nothing spiritual about adultery! Shocking to see these two women congratulating one another for their sin, trying to find the right words to make their wrong act seem noble. Sad! A woman of true Spirit, Godliness KNOWS adultery and having an affair with a married man is wrong, You have no right to take what belongs in vows, spirit, and heart to a sister. Some men affairs are about power, and sexual excitement , not love. Wonder how Redmond felt about Oprah's affair? Did he experience pain or didn't she care? Oprah's married lover must have felt greatly empowered by his seduction. Poor woman who sat at home knowing that her husband's with Oprah. Did they ever think about the the pain they were causing? I am thankful to be wiser, seeing where these women's hearts live. Oprah has done many good works but have charity, compassion and real love for your sisters and don't sleep with another woman's husband. You already own and have enough. Stop rejoicing, bragging and giving millions of young women who admire you the example of betrayal. Shame on both of you women and all of the women like you. Tell the truth about the pain of the women and children who have to deal with their spouses, and parent's adultery. Have your lovers wife and family on your show. Let them educate you.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:02 AM on 05/08/2008

Oprah's "affair" was long before she was famous. She was a very young, struggling news woman in a local station. Please.....all of you without sin, feel free to hurl the first stone. The rest get off of your high horses.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 11:00 AM on 05/10/2008

Okay but there's something very distasteful about confessing big sins on national TV, then attempting to minimize the same sin a moment later. Cheating is cheating, adultery is adultery. Congratulating themselves for not being 'kept' by their married lovers lowers my opinion of both of them. With all the single men in the world, why would these two go after someone else's husband anyway? Yuck to both of them.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:15 PM on 05/10/2008

HEY EMPRESSES!! YOU ARE WEARING *NO CLOTHES*!!! Both of these old HEFFERS are akin to fishermen talking about how big their catch was. Who would bed these two homely women?

WHY DO THESE PREACHY BROADS LORD OVER US WITH THEIR MORALS ONLY FOR US TO FIND THAT THEY ARE WORSE THAN THE SUBJECTS THAT THEY PREACH OVER?

THEIR HIGH FIVES FOR ADULTERY WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS MAKING TOM CRUISES' COUCH JUMPING SEEM SMALL IN COMPARISON.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 09:16 AM on 05/08/2008

Haa...
We know the Empresses wears no clothes, media do not see it because these two women are filthy rich and powerful....

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 08:56 AM on 05/10/2008

So were these exciting men Barbara and Oprah were seeing seperated from their spouses, actively seeking a divorce? Or were they just screwing around? I wonder what these men's wives would have called them? Mistresses? Probably, or probably something worse. Notice how casually Barbara glossed over the fact that her lover had two children at the time. No big deal, not her responsibility.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:43 PM on 05/07/2008

Apparently, normal standards of honesty and integrity do not apply to our two television divas. Money in America always trumps morality.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:25 PM on 05/07/2008

Mistress: "A woman other than his wife with whom a married man has a continuing sexual relationship."

See anything relating to financial eligibility?

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:23 PM on 05/07/2008

Oh Please, is this any cause for congratulations? Embarassment, regret, disappointment, yes, even an honest acknowledgement of your past mistakes, but a high five? Definitely not. Oprah, I expected so much more from you.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:15 PM on 05/07/2008

I was disappointed also.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:44 PM on 05/07/2008

Barbara and Oprah are two worthless, untalented, spoiled individuals. Just take what you want from life; who cares if it hurts anyone? RIGHT? They have just had luck on their side for many many years.

Note to Oprah; Better get out those diet books, you are obese AGAIN.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:05 PM on 05/07/2008

Both of them couldn't provide all their time to another man. After all, they are in a love affair with themselves.
Truly disgusting creatures.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:04 PM on 05/07/2008

Ah... the distinctions of adultery. How urbane.

Who cares?

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:35 PM on 05/07/2008

Maybe the "Big O" and "Bahwaw" can do a show on Mistresses. I would love to hear their views of how the mistress has evolved over the past 100 years. What is the difference between a mistress, a whore, or slut? What is today"s role of a mistress in Twenty-First century America? What are the challenges? What about the guilt? What about the demands of social conformity? How did their affairs contribute to where they are today as matronly figures in Pop Culture? Invite the women you displaced on the air with you, invite the men you slept with. Make it one big freak show! America just loves you both so much, how could we ever get enough.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:12 PM on 05/07/2008

It is bad enough to compete with another woman for your husband's attention and affection, but when she is rich and powerful, it must be terrible.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 01:55 PM on 05/07/2008

Whatever you call them, cheating is wrong, both for the married person and the person s/he had an affair with.

I don't like terms like "ho," "whore," "slut" and such, because they spout such viciousness at women for the behaviors men are cheered and accepted for; whether we accept or condemn such behavior, it should be equal. I just want to express that agreement with elr50's comments.

I watch THE VIEW, but I fast-forward through a lot of it. I can't stand to hear all the Barbara praise (both by her co-hosts and her very own mouth); she isn't worthy of that praise!

A tramp is a tramp is a tramp no matter how much they're worth.

replyReply favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 01:36 PM on 05/07/2008

I think a wealthy tramp is worse because her money gives her many better options, yet she still chooses the low road of messing around with someone else's husband. Tacky, tacky, tacky.
