Penn Jillette Makes Hillary "White B*tch" Joke On MSNBC, Joe & Mika Condemn Him

This morning on MSNBC, magician Penn Jillette repeated an admittedly "cheesy" joke that performed really well on a recent tour — that Barack Obama did well in February because it was Black History Month and Hillary Clinton did well in March because it was "White Bitch Month."

Jillette used the joke to underscore his point that there is a huge reserve of hatred out there for Hillary, but anchors Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough were not amused and did not appreciate his comment. Watch as he repeats the joke and then is condemned by Mika and Joe, with Mika saying, "I didn't think it was funny, and I gotta tell you, with all the work Hillary Clinton is doing, I'm insulted, actually."

Joe and Mika are the pits. Joe gets absolutely weepy about Hillary who he calls his 'secret love' and Mika, between bouts of being 'cute' with Joe, hasn't made herself clear on who she is for. I stopped watching them several weeks ago.

Penn Jillette can be a boorish oafish kind of guy, but here he is making his disclaimers very obvious. A) It wasn't his idea, the joke. B) He admits he didn't think it was much of a joke, but he put it out there anyway. C) He admits to being surprised by the response the joke got. The MSNBC anchors come off as self-righteous, distracted by the joke instead of analyzing the audience response to it, despite Jillette saying all he said, as if he was actually being his usual boorish oafish self. I think we should ignore the anchors' response to the joke and consider the audience's. I think Jillette's point is well taken in this regard.

Another case of media missing the point. I heard the jokes constantly during February about Obama and black history month. Penn was trying to illustrate what would be equally offensive to Hillary voters and women. It was nonsense and supposed to be offensive. The fact that it got the response that it did was shocking. It was one of those moments when the entertainer misread his audience.

Simply put it was never meant to be a funny joke it was meant to be a thought provoking jab at conventional wisdom.

Why did Mika and Joe not express disgust with the first half of the joke? Clearly they are racists.

Wasn't the real purpose of having Penn appear on the Morning Joe show to have him talk about this joke (a variation of it has been in Penn's routine since February)? What other purpose was there to have a comedian on to talk about political analysis?

Since there seems to be a hypersensity to this overused slang term when it is applied to Hill and since Hill seems to be relishing her newfound manly appendages, perhaps we should all agree to call her "bastard" instead of "bitch" when wishing to apply such terminology to describe her character. That's an equally good term for a spiteful, malicious person.

It's funny that Mika and Joe are upset about a "white bitch" joke, but they can tear about Thomas Beatie the transgendered pregnant man on air like two juvenile 14 year olds.
