For the owner of (NSFW, obviously) Power Exchange in San Francisco, running a sex club is a family affair. As Michael Powers explains, Mom spent a day or two painting the kinky dairy cow room, 21-year-old son Joshua split his childhood between a Mormon mother and his slightly more devilish dad, and little sister Jennifer started working the cash register as a summer job and says of her own proclivities, "I'm conservative, but I'm not." Been there, done that... it can be a really fun night out.... one night there was a benefit for the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence - Aids Charity event.... really talented folks and a truly entertaining evening. We used to go to a club in the South bay but the Christian nutjobs started picketing the place and harassing people even though it was out in the country and nowhere near enough for anyone to claim annoyance, it had on-premise parking, was quiet, etc... Really fun crowd- too bad. The PE is a little more commercial and not really a place where regulars can build community but even so, its still fun. I am sure that it was a challenging experiment to get it to work well, they went through a few different phases as I recall as they worked on getting the client mix right.... I do recall once that the place had been infiltrated by undercover drug agents -- My spouse asked if my pills were working (I had taken some advil) and suddenly I was surrounded by some rather square non-players who were interested in getting some of my pills... geez... but other than that its a perfectly ok place to go and mess around and if the Christian nutjobs don't like it, they don't have to go there.... oh yea, and condoms have been mandatory at every club I have ever been to so the disease argument is a bunch of hype by the Prude crowd....
