Wow. Just really, really funny. I think I honestly love Mike Gravel. There's one US Senator (who's liberal record is unimpeachably honorable) I wouldn't mind having a drink with.
Hi, I'm Mike Gravel. My entire campaign is based upon me being as nutty as your uncle that you always carefully avoid to invite to Thanksgiving dinner. The core of my campaign is yelling at the other candidates to get off my lawn, and that they all have no specifics, when all the specifics that you'd want are right there on the other candidates' websites, carefully maintained and kept up to date. And if you were to compare my stance on the issues with the two Democratic frontrunners stances, I wouldn't really be all that far off anyway. Plus, if I really wanted to know these things, I could actually sit down and ask the other candidates, but I have more banking on my 0 delegates so I just would rather get onto radio talk shows and toss out pointless insults without offering up any real specifics of my own, except that now I'm a Libertarian, so I can't really have a position on free trade or tariffs or else I don't get to be the Libertarian candidate. I'm also even older than John McCain, which pretty much means that I'll be senile in a couple years even if I were to be elected to office...if I'm not senile right now.
Mike Gravel on talk shows? When?
He was "blacked-out" just like the other real change candidiates (i.e. Kucinich & Paul).
I get the impression you don't even know who Mike Gravel is. Read your history books, or do you even own one?
Actually, he is way different on the issues than those two other corporate candidates! Gravel also has very detailed plans on real change ie: National Initiative for Democracy. Mike Gravel has experience, creditability, and integrity. He is more of a national hero than any of those other 3 MSM goobers. His resume as a Senator is golden (Pentagon Papers, Alaska Pipeline, opened relationship with China, etc)
So the man is a little unorthodox and I don't agree with his run as a libertarian; I still give the man a lot of respect and credit! He doesn't pass out insults, he points out the obvious flaws of his opponents. When he tries to elaborates on what the solutions are, he gets cut off. When Gravel said that the candidates had no plans, they didn't. Their (Edwards, Clinton, Obama) websites had no specific doctrines at the time.
Good point haloofsin.
KCFreedom, check the profile of zull2. He sure as hell does know who Mike Gravel is.
But since zully is one of those classic examples of an elite Democratic party insider, he hates all genuine liberals.
They are a threat to the myth that Democrats actually represent the people instead of the corporate powers who run our country.
Worth noting that Mike Gravel left the Democratic party saying that they were actually working in tandem with the corporate interests that they were allegedly defending against.
This is why party before country trollies like zull2 are here to beat up on an honorable man.
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about, and are completely ignorant either on what the Democratic candidates views are or what Gravel's views are. And I've tried to plow through both Hillary and Obama's platforms, and find a lot of words that add up to almost nothing, while meanwhile Gravel presents constructive ideas on how to go about ending the Iraq War, instituting national health care, overhauling the tax structure, and involving the people more directly in government. While I don't agree with all of it, they are provocative and interesting ideas that stimulate thought, as opposed to the bland status-quo of both Hillary and Obama.
I encourage anyone who has heard this same talk about Gravel to go and see what his stands actually are, and then try to say they are not substantive and well thought out. He never had the chance to say what his views really are because the media and the Democrats were determined to push him out the door as fast as they could.
You, my friend, are the one who offers no specifics as to why you dislike Gravel.
McCain is the batshit crazy uncle everyone avoids at family reunions....
yeah, he did something special once a LONG LONG time ago but lately all he does is rant and rave about everything - meanwhile he can't even remember where he put his keys..... probably a good thing, have you seen him driving lately?!?!?! OMG.... frightening
You CAN be TOO OLD for some things.....
McCain will get a phone call at 3AM and mumble "Nuke Iran" .........."But Mr. President, we're calling about the crisis in Honduras......" "So what...... I said NUKE IRAN......"
He dislikes Gravel because of being spoon-fed nonsense from all of the media. I completely agree with your assessment of Gravel.....but I still felt Kucinich's platform was a little more compelling.
ROFLMAO!
Love Obama girl...and Love Gravel trying to sneak him a piece!
*Big Smile*,...
Makes me glad to be on of the 0.5% that voted for Gravel back in February!. Sure he is old - but in a fun cranky Grandpa kinda way,... not the scary way that McCain comes across.
yeah he's old but WORLDS APART from mccain in mindset.
gravel is one old dude who I wouldn't mind seeing as president. probably do better than most of the ones who are younger than him. hell I think the youngsters would love him.
Absolutely no doubt about it GoodGuys,... Gravel is the good kind of old-school thought. The kind of old-school thought that used to part and parcel of being a good Liberal.
I love my 'cranky Grandpa' - miss that old coot and would have voted for him in public office in a second. And as at least one other poster here pointed out - he would be damned fun to have a beer with and to get things done with.
Mike Gravel is awesome. I would have voted for him if he had a snowball's chance in hell.
Maybe he would have if everyone like you voted for him.

LMAO!
Gravel is too funny!
Gravel is the real Maverick. His issue positions are spot-on, that's why he was eliminated first. T'was too dangerous to expose the public to his platform for too long. Same with Kucinich.
Though I didn't agree 100% with their solutions, they absolutely identified exactly what needs to be fixed. The way they were sidelined because they had the guts to speak the truth was a national disgrace.
Gravel (yes I voted for him in February) and Kucinich (would have voted for him instead if he hadn't dropped out) were the best two Democrats (Not in name only!) to be running this time out.
I can work with President nominee Obama,... but I would rather have had Kucinich or Gravel.
I completely agree! voted for kucinich myself.
Gravel deserves props. he's not afraid to say what needs to be said. can't say that about most of the others...
Holy Shiite.
I can't uncringe my cringe... it hurts...does he have advisors? Have they retired already?
Man, she's smoking hot!! Hot chick and a great sense of humor. Whew!! Hillary needs to study this as how to campaign, be a human, and not be a complete bitch about it.
I'm proud to say I voted for Mike Gravel.
Why not Kucinich?
In my case - it was because Kucinich had officially withdrawn from the Presidential race before the primary in MD.
But it was a righteous vote for Gravel instead!
He is a better, more funkily soulful and truthful dancer than David Gregory, or Karl Rove!!
Plus, he absolutely right on every issue:
