The race is alive & well? I haven’t followed the McCain Campaign? This is the Speaker of the House? What has happened to our female leaders?

Look for the sign on the door. HRC Pandering Room. Find Pelosi & Feinstein inside.

I admired Pelosi at one point. She and Dean cave in to the Clinton dictates because they're afraid of losing their millionaire fundraiser base. The real leaders of the old Democratic party are Hillary&Bill. Pelosi and Dean don't get it that as easily as Obama raised record millions, millions could also be raised by Democratic party without the Clinton bullies. If their money base is that strong, why did Hillary loan herself nearly $12 million and yet still owes her creditors more than $10 million with apparently no intention of paying back those small business owners who now must hire lawyers to try to get their money. That's not fair, no matter how you cut it. Where does she think the money will come from to pay for maintenance/contruction of highways and bridges if there is a "holiday tax" on gas? Will that stop the oil companies from raising prices? Where will the money come from to pay for across-the-board mandatory government-paid healthcare even for the wealthy and those who can afford some of the cost? No forethought.. As president, Hillary would bankrupt the nation like she bankrupted her campaign with her economic brainlessness and promising mathematically-challenged supporters anything to win. She did not bring New Yorkers the 200,000 jobs she promised when running for Senator. She hasn't done anything to benefit the people of New York or the people of the U.S. as congresswoman.

2 + 2 = 4.

No, you're the genius. You tell me how and why she got re-elected. I have no clue.

Regarding Obama, I want to thank you for making me do the research to find out exactly what has he done for Illinois and the rest of the country. I am amazed! I started to list some of the many bills he actually sponsored/co-sponsored across party lines and within his own party and which actually got passed into law. His accomplishments were too numerous to post. (HuffPo only allows so many words per post so I couldn't list them here. Sorry.)

If you care to find out for yourself how he has benefitted Illinois' and other citizens, here's a link:
http://obama.senate.gov/issues/

If you click on each heading, it goes into detail.

That man is not only a good talker but he's a hard worker. He really has a soft spot for veterans, by the way.

Again, thank you for making me aware of my candidate's many significant accomplishments. I had no idea Obama has accomplished so much in such a short amount of time.

Cheers!

With all the years of "experience" and people her husband helped, she can't raise enough money to keep the campaign going on cash, and her campaign is doing well?

I received a video from the Jefferson-Jackson dinner a while back. It was from November 2007, and began with Nancy Pelosi introducing Obama as "The Next President of the United States"

Her support of Barack Obama is the biggest non-secret in Washington.

Nancy Pelosi is a joke, but I'm not laughing. Miss impeachment off the table needs to go. I hope Cindy Sheehan runs against her.

As long as Hillary focuses her fire at McCain and not Obama. As long as she does not promote McCain over Obama as the next best president. As long as she doesn't polarize the electorate and kneecap Obama for being the first black elitist who is not a Republican. As long as she stops campaigning as the defacto Republican candidate for POTUS. THEN I think it would be okay for her to keep running. Also, her surrogates need to be on the same page. If they can't be positive and go after the Republicans, then they either need to all go join the Republican Party or they need to shut the fuck up.

More lack of leadership from the so-called "leaders" of the Democratic Party. This is why we're still in Iraq eventhough we put these losers in power in 2006 to specifically get us out of Iraq. Pelosi, Reed and Dean are so pathetic.

Somewhat echoing what some others have said here, many in the Democratic leadership are attempting to nurture an environment in which Hillary Clinton can suspend her campaign with dignity. If those conditions don't exist, it's quite possible that she would fight for the nomination until the bitterest end.

To those who are upset by how Rep. Pelosi's words look on the surface, please try to step back and understand that she's doing what's best for the party, and consequently, what's best for the candidacy of presumptive nominee Barack Obama.

Rep. Pelosi's move here actually took some guts. Of course she's aware of how negatively her words will be seen by some, but she, being a good soldier, put the party first.

Now if Hillary Clinton tones down her rhetoric for the remainder of the campaign, there's actually a pretty good situation here. There's the voter registration and media coverage of a "race", minus the damaging attacks, as well as the opportunity for tag team opposition to John McCain. It's also a good way to begin the healing process.

But will Hillary Clinton tone it down? I really think she will. It hasn't seemed like it lately, but when all is said and done, I think she's a good soldier, too.

I hope you're right. But as long as she says she's staying in because "she's more electable" then I fear the negative, "I'm the White candidate" attacks will continue...

Has anyone noticed that the Obama-like candidates in Italy and London have LOST? The guy in Italy, Walter Veltroni, even cribbed BO's "yes we can" (which BO stole from the Hispanic farm workers [and they're pissed about it!]) and got stomped by Berlusconi--an old guy, just like McCain. In London, "Red Ken" Livingstone lost to conservative Boris Johnson.

The moral of this story is that the Dems can pat themselves on their liberal backs all they want if they nominate the way leftwing Obama. But they will be shooting themselves in the foot in the general election. Just like Veltroni and Livingstone, Obama is TOO FAR LEFT and too elitist and too full of HOT AIR for a general election.

Only Hillary can beat McCain--end of story.

If you're comparing Italian politics to American politics you're an idiot. The only major country that makes systemic government corruption looks worse then Italy is Russia. I love how people like you have to dig out some budget facts from some random place (like Italy) to try to overcome all the hurdles in front of your candidate.

You Hillary people need to look in the mirror and get real. Obama and Hillary are within 95% of eachother policy-wise.

You need to start to accept that Obama is the nominee.

The United States of America is not Italy and it's not the UK. It's very, very much the United States of America. Ha ha ha ha.... : )

"Only Hillary can beat McCain--end of story."

One word always pops into my head when I see that lines like that - Dinosaur.

Time is leaving you behind.

You need to evolve, or become irrelevant.

Your choice.

I'd like to know how many Hispanic farm workers you've polled that are pissed. I live in Southern California, where there are a LOT of Hispanic farm workers. Here we proudly celebrate César Chávez Day, and I'm 90 minutes from the border. I've never heard of anyone being pissed about "Si Se Puede" as Obama's slogan. In fact I see it on a lot of bumper stickers. Who's pissed? Do you have a link for this?

Sorry, replying to myself, but here's a story that says quite the opposite from "intelliform" about Obama using the "Yes We Can" slogan, and how strongly it resonates with César Chávez' movement and Hispanic farm workers.

Alive & well, unlike that "off the table impeachment"? Do leaders like you buy or make their own spinning wheels, Ms. Pelosi?

PELOSI STARTED ALL THIS BY SAYING THAT THE PERSON WITH THE MOST DELEGATES SHOULD BET THE NOMINATION. NOT THAT THEY SHOULD REACH THE REQUIRED AMOUNT, BUT THE MOST. PELOSI IS THE MOST INEFFECTIVE SPEAKER THAT THE DEMOCRATS EVER HAD. SHE SHOULD JUST SHUT HER MOUTH, SHE HELPED CAUSE THIS TROUBLE. PELOSI IS TRYING TO GET THE HILLARY VOTERS TO VOTE FOR OBAMA BY SAYING WHAT SHE SAID. I GOT NEWS FOR HER, THIS ONE WILL NEVER VOTE FOR OBAMA.

With these sort of dumb-assed comments it is easy to see why the country is screwed up. If she attacks the Federal Budget with the same sort of mathematical rigor that she attacks the Democratic nomination, then we are truly screwed.

I am sending Cindy Sheehan a check right now. http://www.cindyforcongress.org/

It is possible that the plan is to let Hillary continue on until it becomes completely and totally obvious that she's lost. This way, her supporters won't feel "cheated". They might feel bitter, but at least they'll finally have to admit that she fought hard, but it's time to move on.

This could be a way of letting the inevitable set in without fostering a sudden, shocking bitterness that would make a lot of people stay home out of spite this November.
