Robin Williams sat down with Ellen Degeneres on Tuesday, in a special episode that aired from Chicago. Williams talked about his ongoing divorce from wife Marsha, and true to form found the humor. "We're trying to kind of do it the way we got married - with love... We have amazing kids... A lot of times divorce can be like circumcision with a weed whacker."

I meant there are really two Illinois. Silly me.

Good thing it's mother's Day tomorrow. My child can be my slave. Ha ha. Just kidding. ( Sort of. )

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in the world. I love you all. Except the ones who hurt their children and think they are better than they are. You all can buy your own card.)

Ma'am, you sound as if you have some old resentments...like a parent treating you like crap and making you feel like they were "better" than you...which could translate as giving you an extreme
inferiority complex. Thus, your comment...actually most of them.
In fact, issues glare at the most inconvenient times.
I would suggest some work with John Bradshaw, and a therapist.
Just a thought....based on what I've read from you so far.

2 Illinois'? 2 Chicago's? Wife # 3? I never said anything about getting
to know more about farmers in Illinois.

(Hm. This might be wife #3. --And yet, I wouldn't say no right away, except being over critical of people in general you don't know is rather well, selfish. I do think you have a point about people learning more about the farmers in Illinois. There's really two Chicago's. Most people think of Illinois as a place full of gangsters. )

I don't know what you're talking about. Are you on the sauce? lack of sleep?

I really like this video format. Especially the (VIDEO) presentation as a video, really caught my eye. Plus, I love Robin Williams and his cohort Ellen (and I mean that both ways!) I'm looking forward to this website, or any others out that who want to advertise real well and catch my eye...using (VIDEO)

to celebrate the industry of America, and its celebrity (I mean kings! and fairies(tales)!)

I've never met Robin Williams. I would like to someday. I'm just a girl from the cornfields of Illinois. I don't know much about actors or actresses, and I don't like to see the crap people write in magazines, so I don't read them. I really prefer to form an opinion about someone, or a situation, by my own experience with that person, or in any given situation. Everyone has a story..their life being the most important one...which builds them into what and who they are. We are all fallible. I know that the one thing, the greatest gift I have ever received, is grace. So, who would I be to judge a person I have never met, have never had the experience of knowing, or speaking to, or listening to with an open mind? Do I know Robin Williams? No, I don't. I've seen his movies, and that's about it. I know he's human like the rest of us. Makes good choices, bad choices, poops, likes cornflakes, scraped his knee on the sidewalk , wore Band-aids on his elbow, cries, and laughs. Misses his Mom & Dad, has an old favorite pair of sweats, and like to be alone sometimes. Robin, if you do read this, I don't know you. I'm just a girl from the cornfields of Ladd, Illinois who really likes your movies. I know what I like. P.S. congradulations for being the very first Hollywood actor who's ever gone through a divorce! wink, nudge*

I'm sure it was very painful for him to be laying on top (or under) the young lady he was cheating with. The sad thing is that the young lady in question was closely related to one of my wife's students. WE had to hear about it before anyone else, including his poor wife/ former personal assistant. Lucky for him we didn't sell the story to the tabloids! But we could see the train was about to derail... Grow up Robin. Never mind---might as well ask a square to be round.

I remember when Bill Mahar had Robin 'Ham It Up' Williams as a guest on his three way panel. There were two other guests next to him who were very intelligent and had a lot to say. I recall each time one was about to speak Robin Williams broke into one of his little skits. Nobody else could get a word in edgewise. Williams behavior was immature, offensive and self indulgent. He wasn't even funny, just obnoxious. The other guests on the panel who had something to offer never had a chance due to Robin's lack of control.

Lot's of people 'pay attention' to Bill Maher! Because he's smart, funny, and focuses on the REAL issues. A pain in the ass for narrow-minded, stupid people; but important, all the same.
I suppose you're watching Bill O on the TV in your Mom's basement ?

Robin Williams is funny. Even when he misses, he's always interesting and he always gets back on track. He's also very likeable. Why some people actually hate him is beyond me- maybe he's just too quick for you.

Robin Williams is funny? Sorry, auramac, but that is patently untrue. The truth is that Robin Williams is NOT funny. I am sorry to have to be the one to break it to you.

He and one of his sons were in Best Buy on 23rd St. in Manhattan last summer - in cargo shorts and flip-flops. He was walking all over the store - joking, laughing and waving all the while. No one bothered him for autographs (we don't do that in NYC) and he seemed to be having a ball just talking and joking with people. He seems like a very friendly and down-to-earth guy. His son didn't look like he enjoyed the attention much, but I'm sure he's used to it.

i love robin williams. he's close to my age and i've always found him funny - the more spontaneous his humor the better, which is why he often doesn't come off as funny in film where it is rehearsed (jonathan winters had the same problem, though williams, for my money, is the better actor though not necessarily the better comedian.)

aside from that, i did some checking and according to wikipedia, robin's first marriage ended in 1988, after about 10 years of marriage where robin cheated on his wife before he met his son's babysitter, marsha. not sure if he was still married at the time he met marsha, wiki doesn't say as much, but he married marsha in 1989 and in 2008 she filed for divorce.

okay, folks - so he did 10 years in one marriage and nearly 20 in another. i'd say he is like most people who get married - it's called "serial marriage." several long marriages in a lifetime. and, in case anyone has forgotten, the divorce rate in this country is about 50 percent.

good luck, robin and good luck, marsha. you gave it a good run and you will always have your kids.

Uh -hem. 2 marriages and it's a serial marriage? Maybe on your box of Wheaties, but to Hollywood, this is jay walking. Ask Elizabeth Taylor to explain your wikipedia assumption. Now that's not only a cover of Wheaties, it's a basketball shoe endorsement.

Uh-hem, agentlady, you're not making much sense. sorry.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:51 PM on 05/07/2008

Of course I make sense. It doesn 't surprise me you don't understand me though. It's okay. You see, first of all -you do not know all the statistics of people married in this couintry to blurt out that 50% of marriages end in divorce, therefore your statement is meaningless. Also, two marriages is not "several". So serial shmerial in that response. It's called someone got married once and got remarried. Big deal. Now Robin is looking like a dork instead of a mork, but that's not our problem. I still find his entertainment cutting edge humor,

Have a good day Charity. You deserve it.

Oh, I loved Robin in Le Cage Aux Folles. So funny. What a cute movie. Also there was his magnificent performance as the teacher in 'The Dead Poets Society'. Just Brilliant. I am sure the boys in the film were very much in awe of him as the film suggested. He was incredible. A hulk performance. Then of course there was the role as the doctor with Robert Deniro in Awakenings. So good. He makes us laugh and cry. He reaches the emotional tone levels on all areas of life with his art. I like him. A lot.

Recently he was a Faganish character ( a la Oliver's Fagen) in the remarkable film about a boy who is born with the gift of music, and finds his parents through the chanelling gift of love and hope. It is called "August Rush" and I highly recommend it. We know and loved him in Mork and Mindy. I met him once at a party. He was shy. One of my favorite movies was Mrs. Doubtfire. When I think of him, I think of him as down to earth and very real, not the kind of person who always has to be on. He is Taurus moon. Most people feel calm around him. This is one of his gifts.

Good Luck Robin.

Here is his entire filmography:

oh agentlady007, you seem like a very real person. I like you. I like the way you write too. "A hulk performance" indeed! Incredible! You are the "shrinking woman". Get it?

Also, Robin Williams gave my sister herpes in the late 80's. Funny, huh? He's so spontaneous.

It is funny and sad about the diseases in Hollywood. I remember meeting this actor who's name I won't mention ( can't remember really shh) - who's face is as clear as the sky in Barbra Streisands rendition of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever in Funny Girl, a movie I personally would love to remake and star in ( someone secure me these rights... ha ha..) and yet, we still move on...

Back to the point, there isn't anything I've learned better from Vogue models ot TV series regulars etc. than a dose of penicillin and tetrecyclyine and zovirax cream can't cure to delay the film schedule,

He is a sweet, funny man.
I appreciate the charity work he has done.
One thing I will say for him, when he razzes on someone, it is not on people who are helpless or powerless. He goes after the big pompous, holier-than-thou fools in our society.
Perfect, hardly I am sure he has plenty of faults. But, they are none of my business. I am just thankful to him for the smiles he has put on my face.

I can't believe the posts here about Robin WIlliams. I fell sorry for you people, I bet you hate your mother too. Were your baby wipes too cold.

Robin Williams is one of the funniest actors of our time. There is a vunerability to him that he tries to hide with his humor. I have no doubt that he is troubled and I wish him well. He never fails to make me laugh.

It doesn't matter how funny, talented or, in fact, decent a celebrity is. Once a thread starts, there will be people who jump on to say "I hate......"
Seriously, how can anybody hate Robin Williams?

Robin was very close to Christopher Reeve and his wife Dana. The death of these two people must have made him start drinking again.
