Clinton Backer Weinstein Threatens Pelosi Over Revote

In a heated phone call with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi late last month, Hillary Clinton supporter Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut off campaign money to congressional Democrats unless Pelosi embraced a new plan by the movie mogul to finance a revote of the Democratic presidential primaries in Florida and Michigan, according to three officials who were briefed on the contents of the conversation.

The three officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly about the private phone conversation, said Weinstein, a top supporter of Clinton's presidential campaign, appeared determined to buy Clinton more time in her battle against Sen. Barack Obama by pushing for the revote and pressing Pelosi to back off her previous comments that superdelegates should support the candidate who's leading in pledged delegates in early June.

Look, kiddies, the problem of getting a vote for Michigan and Florida will last longer than Hillary's campaign. Now that Obama has sloughed it off into the future, when they will be able to vote in Soviet, one-candidate election, you bet they ought to come up with a formula to seat the delegates, and fast. Pelosi apparently said she felt "threatened"; what is unclear is did she mean on a personal level, political level, or both. It seems to me this a serious offense, when the number three person in line to the Presidency uses language such as this.

I am not a fan of Pelosi, but I would love to see the FBI get after this guy's ass. Do some legal grounds exist to have his offices and home raided, records seized, etc? He needs to made an example of.

Senator Obama has shown that grassroots donations are a viable and honorable option to taking money from rich, old, fat, white men who think that they should have more of a say than the average citizen.
