CNN:

He has publicly urged Republicans to vote for Hillary Clinton to keep the divisive Democratic nomination fight alive, but talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday it's Barack Obama who he really wants to be the party's nominee.

"I now believe he would be the weakest of the Democrat nominees," Limbaugh, among the most powerful voices in conservative radio, said on his program. "I now urge the Democrat supereldegates to make your mind up and publicly go for Obama."

We certainly cannot accuse Limbaugh of being an ethical person. He's made his fortune by spewing divisive hate speech for years .

I'm not even sure we can accuse him of being a person, ethical or otherwise. Humanoid, yes, but human? I don't see much evidence thereof.

Can we for Christ's sake put a muzzle on the Liberal Arts and English/Journallism majors for a minute. Limpbaugh did NOT cost Obama Indiana, the numbers aren't there. According to the NYTimes, 11% of the voters were crossover Republicans, and Hillary won that segment by 6%, rounded. That's 0.66% of the total, and she won the state by 1.4%. Yes without them the margin would have been even tighter, under 0.8%, but she still would have won. If you call that a win compared to the double-digit win that was expected not all that long ago.

God, we need math and science majors.

Again I say, if Limbaugh had cost Obama the Indiana primary, why was the race so much closer than anyone--even the Obamam people--expected it to be? Hillary was supposed to win by double-digits, but barely squeaked by.

Think about it: Rush Limbaugh was telling his own party a few months ago NOT to nominate McCain. They did anyway. He doesn't even have any real influence in the GOP anymore. What makes anyone think he somehow can have an effect on our primaries? It' doesn't make sense.

And your numbers, if correct (and I have no reason to doubt them) show a nearly even split of crossover voters.

No, this whole Limbaugh cost Obama Indiana thing is just paranoia run amuck. Rush said he supported Hillary, Obama supporters had a hissy fit, Limbaugh and his loser cult had a good laugh at your (our!) expense.

Let's just wipe Limbaugh's doo doo off the bottoms of our shoes and get on with putting a Democrat in the White House.

Obama was getting the cross-over Republicans 80/20 before Operation Chaos. So you take 35% of 11% of 1.2 million and that's about 40,000 votes, enough to swing the primary in Clinton's favor.

more than math and science majors we could use some majors in reasoning and logic, as yours does not make sense.

Wow, and at this time in history, with our country in the position it is in, that is really admirable what Limbaugh is doing, trying to screw with democracy.

You repubs must be really proud. You elect the biggest idiot the US has ever seen (twice), and then after he runs America into the ground, you try to screw-up an entire election.

yeah, we should spend more time listening to professor limbaugh, a guy who has been wrong about EVERYTHING important to this country- bush, iraq, economy, climate change- and now with his help the GOP will finally hit the gutter.

i stopped listening to Kerry when he bailed on us during the 2004 Ohio vote count. A whole lot of us believed in him and he shafted us. He showed himself to be a coward and a quitter. Nothing he says has any value ever again.

All Limbaugh is doing is "jacking with the mainstream media", nothing more. Anybody who thinks otherwise has not been paying attention.

I hate to agree with you, but in this case you called it right. Rush Limbaugh doesn't even have any influence in the Republican Party anymore. He's an insignificant creep and it's an insult to Dems and progressives to say this little twerp had any influence on our primary.

Like neocon43, I agree that McCain needs to win the election this fall. The United states of America needs to fall flat on its face in order to find the courage and resolve to finally shed the skin of fascism. As long as we continue to play this right-left-right game, the downward spiral will go on. McCain is the perfect instrument to bring about the long overdue change.

The modern Republican party is anathema to American ideals. You can throw Bill and Hillary into that mix, too. Republicans in sheep's clothing.

Rush better watch his *ss.
If it can be proven that he truly did influence the votes and compromised the sacred rights of voters coming or going, he will be spending a HELL of a lot on attorneys fees trying to keep himself out of trouble.

With a new administration, you can bet there will be serious talk about re-instating the Fairness doctrine and with an all-dem majority, oh man, will that be fun to watch....

He'd love to prove that he's responsible. Most likely it's his ego that needs the confirmation that he was the one who put Hillary over the top with those victory states. He'd say "I made you honey, and now I can break you" holding the cigar of course.

His cult of listeners has dropped sharply in the last ten or twelve years, from 22 million to 10 million. The GOP no longer listens to him (he said don't nominate McCain and they did anyway). He's a sad, lonely man with a lot of money and no friends. He has to take someone else's Viagra and go to the Dominican Republic to have sex (and who knows with what gender or how old his "partners" were? I'm guessing 12-year-old boys.). This was his way, like the 2-year-old (in psychological age) that he is to get a little of the attention he so craves.

Nobody likes you, Rush. You're a schmuck. Go away.

Rush is overlooking the fact hundreds of thousands of Republicans have reregistered as Democrat. Obama is the only one of them offering reasoned discourse and I’m listening. Rush, you should be careful of what you ask for.

Are there any socialists running? I'm sure there are, but none of them are getting any media coverage. I haven't heard about them. The only candidates I've heard anything about are the one Republican and two Democrats that have tons of corporate money behind their campaigns. I doubt that Hillary's friends in big pharma or Obama's friends in the nuclear power industry are going to give money to socialists.

You mean no *Repedophile* will vote for Senator Obama in the general election:

http://www.armchairsubversive.org

Now a *real* Republican IMHO would, as such a person would have been so appalled by the runaway corruption and cronyism and above all moral bankruptcy of the far right corporatists and heretical Dominionist religious fanatics that have taken over the GOP and transformed it in seven and a half years from Hell from the "Grand Old Party" of Lincoln and Eisenhower into the "Gang of Pedophiles" of Chimpy "Mission Accomplished" McFlightsuit, Deadeye Dick Cheney, "Heckuvajob" Brownie, Karl "Goebbels" Rove, ad infinite nauseum, that such an honest, old school Republican would have reregistered as a Democrat, or an independent, or better a *Green* than stay for one second longer in the company of the avarice-driven mob of "Greedy Old Perverts" that have infested the White House and Congress for far too long!

END PART I

Rush enjoys yanking on people's chain. Part of his public persona is getting a rise out of those who have a dissenting opinion from his; in other words, individuals who are capable of independent thought and reason.

Its going to be surprisingly simple for Obama to win these voters. All he has to do is remind voters of the mess we are in because of Republicans, and then remind people of how McCain threw over any integrity he once may have had to become the pander bear of the conservatives - who still hate him and everything he stands for because he isn't "pure". True Independents will not support McCain now, not after seeing him grovel at the feet of these conservatives who really think he's trash. Obama needs to resolve Canada -Naftagate and soothe their fears of reverse discrimination and he'll have their votes. It won't take much, really.
