Rush Limbaugh Now "Backs" Obama

He has publicly urged Republicans to vote for Hillary Clinton to keep the divisive Democratic nomination fight alive, but talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday it's Barack Obama who he really wants to be the party's nominee.

"I now believe he would be the weakest of the Democrat nominees," Limbaugh, among the most powerful voices in conservative radio, said on his program. "I now urge the Democrat supereldegates to make your mind up and publicly go for Obama."

I am reminded of the title of Franken's book, "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them." Limbaugh couldn't tell the truth if it was dangling off the end of his nose. A compulsive 'mis-stater,' he exists only because he feeds the delusions of people who have less exaggerated versions of his own psychoses. Future historians cite him as Exhibit A in support of the poor mental health of the US: a drug addicted pedophile instructing delusional Americans in what they 'should' be thinking. This latest flip-flop being the most recent example. Pretty soon the dittoheads will show up saying that Limbaugh has wanted BHO all along. Exhibit B....

This should be interesting. For weeks there have been Obama supporters all over Huffington saying that Rush Limbaugh's "endorsement" was a big reason to NOT vote for Clinton. I'm curious to see what some of those same people are going to do with this.

As a progressive I find it more than a little embarrassing that so may of my fellow progressives fell for it when this despicable creep said he wanted Clinton to get the nomination. He never wanted anything of the sort and shame on those of you who fell for it. This little wad of foetid fungus never cared about who got the Democratic nomination. He's just an attention-starved, overgrown 2-year-old who was mad at the fact that he had a less than negligible effect on his own party's primaries (his "Don't nominate McCain" tirades fell mostly on deaf or indifferent ears). Nobody in his own party was listening to him, so he came over to ours and started flinging his poo. And how many of you laid down and wallowed in it?

For years I've wondered how people who listen to and believe this filthy sack of rancid pus could actually admit it in public. Have they no shame or self-respect? Now I have to wonder the same thing about fellow progressives and Democrats. Were they so blinded with anti-Clinton hatred and paranoia that they fell for this guy's oh-so-obvious sleight of hand, hook, line and sinker? Incredible!

I have seen post after post on Huffington in recent weeks by (apparent) progressives and Obama supporters repeating the lie that Rush was "endorsing" or "supporting" Clinton. No, I don't know any of them personally, but their words told me they were buying what Rush was selling. Their words told me they were playing right into his hands. Their words told me that, whether they actually listen to his "show" or not, they were letting this putz manipulate them.

Holy f*cking sh*t! There were "progressives" bringing up Whitewater, Monica, cattle futures, the girth of Hillary Clinton's legs. It was like they had acquired transcripts from a 1997 Limbaugh broadcast and were just copying and pasting them into their posts here. There may be (are!) plenty of reasons why one might not want to vote for Clinton, but ditto-head talking points are not among those reasons.

So I ask again: What are these people who were so apoplectic about Rush's (non) "endorsement" of Clinton going to do now that he has (not) "endorsed Obama? Are they going to use this nonsense against him the way they used it against Clinton? Or is it time for us to grow up and start taking back our country?

My hope is one can only be wrong so many times before people start to notice that they have little credibility or prognostication abilities. I haven't seen so much of people saying that his "endorsement" should be a reason to vote for Clinton as arguments that he has indeed managed to skew the process with his drive to get Republicans with no intention of voting Democrat in the fall.

His actions have been unethical across the board; illegal in both Ohio and Indiana.

Given that the margin of (Pyrrhic) victory for Clinton was less than 20K votes, it is quite possible that election tampering oriented voting did indeed hand Hillary that race. The numbers seem to bear it out.

I really think that it is pretty vile - no matter which candidate he is "supporting" - that he is allowed to continue to attempt to corrupt the election process like this. Even worse, though, in my mind, is that his followers think it is so "cool" or whatever. Where as the truth is that it is about as un-American as it comes.

If you go back a bit in time, Rush got his show started during the early 90s when Clinton won the presidency, when the conservatives were out. His right wing rants were popular listening and in the 94 midterms the republicans scored big, Newt and all that. Rush then grew more powerful and probably had his zenith when Bush was awarded the presidency by the Supreme Court. Then for the last 8 years it's been downhill, having his wagon hitched to his fearless and clueless leader. Now we come to today when the odds are in favor of Obama winning the White House. Rush now feels he is faced with the task of tearing him down, just like he did with the Clintons. As long as we have a first amendment, Rush can say all he wants, the difference this time is his audience is pretty much limited to that 20 to 30 percent comprised of Bush supporters, racists, neocons and other neanderthals. That would be the same first amendment that allows reverend what's his name to speak his mind as well.

Actually, his radio show goes back to the mid 80s - he started well before Clinton. He even had a TV show in the early 90s.

I'll confess to being a former dittoehead. I first saw through him when he appeared on Letterman back in '93 or '94. Letterman let Limbaugh rant for a while, then Dave gave him a long, quizzical stare, and then quipped "you really are full of hot air." Limbaugh was paralyzed with fear - I mean, you could smell the fear right through the TV set. He stammered a bit and never recovered his composure. At that point I realized the guy is nothing more than a performer. It was the start of my long road of recovery from conservatism.

One of the most delicious moments in TV history! Actually, the phrase Leeterman used was "Full of hot gas" and Limbaugh, bully that he is, didn't know what to do. Like all bullies, he totally froze up at the first sign of someone fighting back.

BTW, I congratulate you on your recovery. As I understand it, Rush's audience has plummeted from about 22 million in the early/mid 90s to about 10 million today. America is waking up and smelling the excrement that its Rush Limbaugh.

And Lush is their main mouthpiece for their slimier messaging. He is changing tack because news on the ground forced him to. HRC is not going to be the nominee. Just as BHO has to turn his attention to the general, and way from the primaries.­....Lush has to change his target to getting white people to hate BHO. It is the only real wedge left to the Wedge Party.

Stirring up controversy to attract attention to himself is how Limbaugh makes a living. I think of him as the court jester of the rightwing. I suspect that he doesn't even believe half of the stuff he says. It's all part of his act - and I suspect he is bored with it himself, but he's trapped. Remember that he tried to transition to sports broadcasting a few year back, and then it blew up in his face on ESPN. Now he's trapped in a hell of his own making - eternity with the dittoeheads. In some ways I pity him.

Obama joined a hate Church and stayed for 20 years, just go to youtube and watch Wright in action doing his "Riding Dirty" and "God Damn America", make sure you catch the 4 minutes version. Democrats "own" their primary process; there is no law requiring Dems to allow Independents and Republicans to participate. If the votes of non-Democrats are thought to be skewing the results, the easiest remedey is to reserve participation in the Democratic primaries for registered Democrats. It's too late for this election cycle, but it looks like a "gapin hole" in our procedures which needs to be repaired before the next go-around in 2012.

All Limbaugh can do is talk, which is his right. He's a minor annoyance and not the real opponent. Let's not be distracted by "comedians" making loud noises to divert our attention, when the people actively undermining our country and threatening our election process are working very quietly and out of the public view. Forget about Limbaugh and his baloney, and watch out for Mukasey and the DoJ voter-caging scam which is genuinely threatening to suppress legitimate voters when the General Election comes around.
