The small crowd of mostly die-hard Clinton supporters cheered and that somehow surprises you? What the rest of the country saw was Bill wagging his finger at a questioner in the same condescending way he has in the past when trying to put out lies in response to a tough question.

No one needs to try to discredit Bill; he has discredited himself.

I agree she was brave, but she was totally wrong about what she said. It was the Republicans who tore down the health efforts of the Clintons. I remember it well too and what I remember is all the commercials the Republicans came out with claiming that the new health care package wouldn't work and that Americans didn't want universal health care. Remember those times folks? Not all Americans wanted universal health care then because there health care premiums weren't near what they are today, because health care usually came with their jobs and the Congress didn't even believe we needed universal health care. Hope this helps all of you people who don't care about history and only care about change, to figure this out.

What is sad are the many Democrats who still voted for Hillary in the primary this year after losing good jobs because Bill signed NAFTA, or who can't afford health insurance in part because Hillary accomplished nothing with her divisive, uncomprising approach to health care reform in 1994. Thanks to the Clinton spin machine those voters have managed to ignore the stark reality that the Clintons have done very little for them over the past 16 years. And lets not forget that 2 years after the divisive Clinton machinery went to DC, the Democrats lost both the Senate and House, and it took 14 years to get them back. Add to this the reprehensible pardons that Bill doled out before he left office and the glaringly disgraceful presidential campaign Hilllary has run this year, and it makes me wonder if these voters are even thinking.

When Hillary fought for universal health care times were different, more people still had job related insurance and the insurance industry was and still is very powerful. No one could have changed the system against the will of the insurance corp. Even now it is extremely doubtful that anything will change. Obama is wishy washy, he talks about vision and change. What exactly is his vision and what will he change?

Our Democracy is limited. It is as if one buys shoes and can choose between one design and two colors, a Democrat or a Republican. This election the powers that be support Obama the Democrat, McCain is like a token opposition, just like Keyes when he ran against Obama.

This is just more excuses for why Hillary accomplished nothing on health care. Sure things were difficult, but she could have gotten something done. If you believe that nothing is a better choice than compromise, go tell that to the 40 million people with no health insurance today.

Hillary campaigned in favor of NAFTA and in her book she praised it. Now she says she was against it. Bill made $800 thousand consulting on projects in support of the Columbia free trade deal but Hillary claims she is against it.

You don't have to be a brain surgeon to figure this out. The question is why Hillary supporters haven't.

Obama has consistently said you need to build a working majority to get things done. With compromise and his post-partisan approach he will obtain the few cross-over votes from moderate Republicans he needs in order to stop Senate filibusters on important programs to help Americans. And he already has that majority in the House.

And this guy comes out of obscurity and builds a movement out of nothing to beat the Clinton machine and looks to do the same to Mc Cain. We did have relative good times in the 90's . but, the clintons took over when the economy was just slightly tilted, and there was no war or recession going on! Still they did promise universsal Health care and it never happened! She did try to claim the entittlement that she did the chip childrens program, when Kennedy and Oran Hatch bless them work deligently to get children medical help and did so themself, and Bill Clinton knocked down the chips program the first time, and Kennedy and Hatch enlisted 200 groups and thousands of suppporter, and they did ask Hillary to speak on behalf of the program. but thats all she did for the chips program, and Bill had to be shoved into signing the Bill the second time! So, yes, she was probally right! the Clintons did not follow through with the Health Care Reforms he promised and after Hillary's terrible failure on h er Health Bill------­------noth­ing, and I mean nothing further was done, as they promised! I watched the clip, and it seemed in the interview at the end, that the woman was cooperating with the whole sham-scam -- she was a little fuzzy on important details, like her statement that Hillary went to the WH and two weeks later, nothing more was heard about health care . . . blah, blah, blah.

She's either got early-Alzheimer's or she was fed those lines by the Clinton campaign -- everybody remembers how involved Hillary was with the health care thing b/c the Clintons made sure it was front and center of the nightly news cycles for months and months, not 2 weeks.

I don't agree. The lady was correct. Two weeks was an exaggeration but the fact remains Hillary-care was dead within the first year. The Clintons rode in to the White House like the Reoosevelts promising populism. In 8 years what did we get? The Telecommunications Act of 1996, a gift to Rupert Murdoch and Ted Turner which opened the doors to the media conglomerations we have now. We got NAFTA, which needs no further description than it sucked jobs out of the country and he we got the Republicans version of welfare reform that has delivered us more poor.

Had she done so, she would have been successful in the long run. She did manage to get a program through for children though with the help of Senator Kennedy.

The reason was Clinton was so tenacious in her belief that only her idea was the best so she didn't accept a compromise, to accept another Congress member's plan which have more chance to get through Congress.
