Never the less the woman from Fayetteville was wrong! Hillary Clinton had a huge committee that met on a regualr basis. People in the press torpedoed her efforts as did the Republicans in Congress. They did come up with a plan that was very close to an HMO. It did not pass, but that does not mean she didn;t work her butt off to put a comprehensive health care system together that was defeated. Her work was real. That was several months of work, not two weeks.

granted- but, why couldn't she build consensus around her plan? I feel like her campaign might have given us a clear idea of why.

Hillary and health care are strange bedfollows...

She couldn't pass a bowel movement, let alone a health care bill, lol!!

When Bill dealed away the House to the Republicans, he knew Hillary would be the sacrificial lamb and take the fall..

Bill knew it would fail..

He needed Hillary distracted while he and Monica get their groove on....

Bubba for the new DC MADAM...

Bill, once again you are pointingg that finger and demeaning someone for daring to expose Mrs. Clinton's shaky relationship with the truth. You know better than anyone that she makes a lot of stuff up as she goes along because you encourage her. Shame on both of you..The American people deserve better than that.

I want to bite that finger off and spit it in his face every tome he starts wagging it at someone.
It is one thing he always does when he knows he has been asked something that he does not want to answer.
And, it is a sure way to know that he is lying his ass off.

I find it entirely telling that when asked what Hillary had accomplished with healthcare during his term, Mr. Clinton called the woman a liar and said Hillary worked very hard.

Can you say "Disconnect" ?

He really hasn't been the same since his heart surgery according to people close to him. It is a shame that his legacy has to end up this way, with him shouting down voters and calling them liars.

You know I think (my opinion only) that for people to blame Bill Clinton's behavior on his heart surgery, is giving him a 'pass'. My dad had heart surgery; he didn't become an angry, arrogant, narcissist. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong but it smacks of being a cop-out.

I suggest their mutual arrogance and sense of entitlement stems from so many years of adulation from the DNC, and it left no room for them to consider, even for a minute, that they would fail.

That they are both grasping at straws, is obvious. They are doing anything they can think of, to try to hold on. It's like the sink hole in that small town in Texas....

It's done. The prize is not hers. I feel sad for her supporters, but she has nobody to blame but herself.

It's semantics; but "working hard" doesn't equate to accomplishing anything.

They released "millions of pages?" Like more than 2 million pages? Really? Are you sure about that Bill? That's a lot of pages. Well, she does claim to speak a million words a day, which most people think is physically impossible.
I'm guessing those pages were full of "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" typed over and over again, single-spaced.

It's not pretty when a former president of the United States makes a fool of himself in public. I guess we should get accustomed to it since GWB is soon - let's hear the cheers! - to be another ex-prez and it's assured that GWB will be making a fool of himself in public for years to come. But, still, it's not good to see Bill Clinton humiliating himself day after day like this.

What is truly sickening is the crowd cheering. Cheering Bill as he reprimands a member of the audience - which he is getting really good at. It reminds me of Ted Kopple and Bill O'Reilly. The man with the microphone gets in the last distorted comment, you know, the one that people remember the most. The one that brands this woman as a liar. Hillary tried but did not succeed. Politicians have problems with wives dictating policy. Maybe we should have a problem with husbands dictating policy. Go home Bill and play with your favorite toy. We all know what that is.

Yes, Bill. You and Hillary worked to improve health care. Nobody disputes that. But you failed. You failed bad. You worked your fingers to the bone, tried as hard as you could, and you failed. As a result it's 14 years later and 40 million people don't have health care. You think you get a trophy just for showing up? We're talking about the governance of the United States of America, not kindergarten track and field day.

Now...on the one hand you say that the Clintons worked their fingers to the bone, tried as hard as they could.

Then you say you don't get a trophy just for showing up?

Which is it?

Were you comatose during that health care debate? Did you see the millions poured into ads that distorted the proposal? Don't you remember not a single Republican supporting Clinton on virtually every initiative?

Yeah, we didn't get comprehensive health care like Hillary's proposal - and the many others at the time - was aiming for.

But those 40 million who don't have health care can not be placed at the Clintons' door.

If there are two people who know what that governance is not kindergarten track and field day (something very private school sounding) it's the Clintons.

And Barry, unfortunately, will never know that experience of governance.

They don't get to rest on the laurels of their first year in office. Why hasn't there been any effort since then. Bill was President for seven additional years and Hillary has been in the Senate for the past 8 years. I understand Hillary's support of SCHIP and she deserves credit for that but Bill and Hillary have failed to readdress the issue since 1993. What has she done to explain how it will be different this time. As I recall it, the last time, it wasn't just the Republicans that fought against the proposal. It was also the senior Democrats in congress who felt that they had been shut out of the process because of the closed door, secretive nature of the process. I am not a rabid Hillary hater. I supported her up until the South Carolina primary. I still don't hate her and happen to think that she should remain in the race as long as she wants to. I am very hopeful that she will be respectful and avoid the destructive attacks on Obama.

"Do or do not. There is no try" - Yoda

Bill alienated the "lunch bucket crowd" so badly that for the last 12 years of election cycles this demographic has been SOLIDLY in the republican column.

Electing Hillary will guarantee another 4-8 years of narrow margins in both houses of congress and complete gridlock.

We need to rally around the candidate and make certain that so many people turn out to vote that the down ticket effect ensures a very blue senate and congress. That is the only way we will get any of the progressive legislation passed.

Not a very presidential thing.

We've been through Bill Clinton's desperation.

Talk about an embarassing fool, this lady in the video needs to get a grip on reality. You can call Bill Clinton a liar if you want, since all politicians (including Obama), sometimes play fast & loose with the truth. In this instance however, Bill is absolutely right. If the MSM is not totally "in the tank for Obama" as portrayed in the infamous SNL sketch, then why didn't CBS News bother to point out that this woman was absolutely wrong on the facts? I guess they've never heard of "Google." Try googling "Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton presidency, 1993, healthcare task force" and see what you get. You'll find that Hillary was appointed to head the task force almost immediately after Bill took office in early '93, and after months of hearings, rallies, research, lobbying of Congress, etc., the plan was abandoned in September, 1994. Now, was she successful? No. Did she go about it completely in the right way? Probably not. Too many closed-door hearings, for example. But to claim she only worked on it for 2 weeks or she didn't do anything is absurd. Read what you come up with on Google. Read Wikipedia. You'll be reminded that public & political opinion was decidedly against universal healthcare during that time (due mostly to hundreds of millions of dollars spent on lobbying by the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries), and Hillary was skewered for it.

One last thing--when it comes to Bill Clinton, HuffPost and the MSM seem to have a problem with the meaning of the word "angry." He'll calmly and in a measured tone refute something that someone else says, and the headline will invariably read: "angry!," "Tirade!", etc. No, of COURSE there's no bias against the Clintons! Pure Fantasyland.
