The chorus from major news outlets saying Hillary Clinton's candidacy is almost impossible is growing louder as the Clintons continue to push on. The AP reports on the nine superdelegates Barack Obama picked up today. Clinton picked up one. This morning, ABC declared that according to their delegate tallies, Obama had won more superdelegate support than Clinton for the first time. This afternoon, AP's tally showed Obama within half a superdelegate of Clinton.

When asked about Clinton this morning on NBC and MSNBC, former Democratic contender John Edwards said, "it's very difficult to make the math work." Edwards has yet to make an endorsement.

Read excerpts from the various articles below:

AP
:

Barack Obama all but erased Hillary Rodham Clinton's once-imposing lead among national convention superdelegates on Friday and won fresh labor backing as elements of the Democratic Party began coalescing around the Illinois senator for the fall campaign.

ABC
:

ABC News' Karen Travers Reports: For the first time this campaign season, Barack Obama has surpassed Hillary Clinton's support among superdelegates, according to the ABC News delegate estimate.

John Edwards on NBC and MSNBC
:
The former presidential candidate told interviewers on NBC and MSNBC that Barack Obama will probably top the Democratic ticket this fall.

Hillary Clinton has said that she can still win the nomination - but "it's very difficult to make the math work," said Edwards.

The true colors of the Clintons are coming out everyday for everyone to see. Either she and her husband have lost their minds or they are actually racists who are now race-baiting and are just an inch away from putting on a KKK hood and burning the cross. It is sad to watch people who, for years claimed to care about racial unity and civil rights, reduced to this public spectacle.

It's up to you now Hillary, do you want to be remembered as a bad loser and risk your future as a Senator, or do you want to be magnanimous and help us defeat McSame in November? Your choice.

With the crises in Myanmar and the global food shortage, I don't know how she can waste millions more on a doomed campaign. Those millions of dollars to compete in a race she already lost could be doing a heck of a lot of good elsewhere.

Hillary just needs to quit, release her delegates and leave the stage. Of course her delegates will immediately flock to Obama. The people who voted for her are however a different matter. They'll probably abandon the party and not vote at all. But that's no problem as Obama can count on republicans to fill in the needed votes to win. Right?

Charles K has a great take on Hillary's loss. I say this because I've been saying the same thing for months now. He's nailed it dead on. Instead of trying to please the far left and appease them she should have started fighting as soon as it became apparent the smear mongers were going to take her down for Obama.

By the way, can't stand a conservative web site because of the hate inside you? Give up on the hate. Stop letting people manipulate you with radicalized emotions. Stop hating and start thinking.

The patriotism card has been played ad nauseum and when she used it, it turned me off even more. If you're so interested in Mr. Krauthammer's opinion go vote for John McSame.

Krauthammer's analysis is flawed, as usual. As long as he continues to promote the propaganda that Obama is the most liberal senator nonsense, he won't be taken seriously by any but his ardent fans.

At townhall.com and other rightwing sites are the same guys who have been wrong on so many issues for so long, particularly the Iraq invasion and occupation. I don't put my stock in their analyses.

The party elders assumed she would stop attacking Obama now that he's the nominee.

But according to Mark Halperin, she was attacking him on the stump today for his health care plan. What is wrong with her ? She is going to damage Obama more AND I believe she is going to do something really self destructive in a matter of days. What is wrong with her ? Is she headed for a breakdown ?

Yes, Hillary is nuts and her supporters are nuts too. Obama doesn't need them. He doesn't need her votes either, he has plenty of hard core republicans who will race to his support and vote for him.

She cannot damage Barack Obama any more, she no longer has a legitimate national platform from which to operate, the air has been let out her balloon - any attack by Hillary now is only going to come back on her own head - she is finally and mercifully finished.

You're right. She can only damage herself at this point. Meeting the few superdelegates who reluctantly agree to see her. She can't quite grasp her dalmation spotted coat, or the hide of Obama tacked to the wall in her trophy room. Not going to do it.

I'd prefer to know how McCain will explain those sweetheart developer deals that he and his cronies profited so well off of.

He won't have to explain them because the will be ignored by the MSM. I had a talk to my boss today about politics and I was truly shocked at how little he knows about what is going on in the world around him. He still thinks McCain is a maverick and he had no idea of the things Hillary has been doing. He gets his news from NBC nightly news and by reading the Sunday local paper.

I'm currently in Arizona, and even people here don't pay any attention to that subject. Somebody needs to vet this during the R vs. D election -- and it better be BEFORE the Rs start talking about Barack's property problem.

There's a lot of math from the Hillary camp that doesn't work, such as the fact that she's in debt yet she's continued to spend money as if she isn't, thereby leaving vendors (all hardworking people, whether they're white or black) in the lurch. Some say you can't judge a candidate simply by how her campaign has been run, but at least when John McCain was in debt, he scaled back appropriately. What has Hillary done? Spend, spend, spend. And now she wants Barack to clean up her mess. Let Hillary Bailout 2008 commence. (Anything to ostensibly get her off the stage.)

Maybe what you're reading isn't true. Maybe all those stories about Hillary's crumbling finances are just Huffpost propaganda. Maybe Hillary isn't running out of money...

If her campaign isn't out of cash, why does she have to throw in her own? I don't see Obama donating or "lending money" to his own campaign.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:14 PM on 05/10/2008

I don't want my hard earned money used to bail her out of the mess she put herself in. Let her ride it out to June 3rd, that's when all the final SuperD's. will fall in line with Obama anyway. If she continues on after June 3rd, then she will only make herself look like the elitist she is.

Did it involve "turn your head and cough" or was it a taste test?

There is so much going on in the world...Why not just let this play out without all the foolish guessing about what is next. The MSM in general and Huffington Post in particular are looking like amateurs chasing rumor and innuendo.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:34 PM on 05/09/2008

Maybe if the MSM would stop covering her, she'd peter herself out.

I really want her to just stop. She doesn't seem to be able to do it, so the only other choice is to simply deny her a platform.

So very true. You'd think the whole electorate is just waiting to read the next ridiculous article. I've been hanging here and posting up a storm for Hillary. For some odd reason people here believe that Obama is going to be elected President. I think they've been huffing.
