On Monday, Arianna reported that John McCain told her he had not voted for George W. Bush in 2000. Today, both The New York Times AND The Washington Post published articles with sources confirming John McCain had indeed told Arianna and other members of the group she was with, that he did not vote for the President in 2000.

From The New York Times:

Did Senator John McCain not vote for George W. Bush in 2000?

That question has kicked up a minor ruckus in political circles this week as Arianna Huffington and the McCain campaign have traded he-said, she-said barbs...

Now two other guests at the same dinner, given by the actress Candice Bergen, at her home in Beverly Hills, say they heard much the same thing as Ms. Huffington. Both of them, the former "West Wing" actors Bradley Whitford and Richard Schiff, were asked by Ms. Huffington to speak to The New York Times. Mr. Whitford said he would be supporting the Democratic nominee and had donated to Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama; Mr. Schiff is supporting Mr. Obama.

From The Washington Post:

Two Hollywood actors who dined with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in early 2001 at actress Candice Bergen's home confirmed Thursday that he told the assembled group he did not vote for George W. Bush in the 2000 election.

In separate phone interviews, Bradley Whitford and Richard Schiff -- both of whom starred in the television political drama "The West Wing" -- said the senator made the remarks after he spoke at length about his reservations about Bush becoming president. Liberal blogger Arianna Huffington first wrote about the incident Monday, asserting neither McCain nor his wife Cindy backed Bush in his first presidential bid, and the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that a woman who was also at the dinner confirmed Huffington's account, though she declined to give her name.

Whether John McCrazy did or didn't vote for the chimp doesn't make one bit of difference to me. What bothers me is the fact that Bush's people had that huge attack on "Crash" McInsane adopted daughter, and afterwords, a**hole McCrazy gets up in front of God and everybody and hugs the chimp. Like the old saying goes" One picture is worth a thousand words". And then the media lets McCrazy Jr.( John's birth daughter have her 15 minutes of fame by interviewing her! When the McCrazy's saw what an airhead she was, I'm sure we won't be hearing from her again , any time soon ,and at McBush's cook-outs" Crashs" abopted daughter is nowhere to be found. This creep and his equally hideous-looking missus are just to horribly putrid to be anywhere near the White House much less moving in for 4 more years of Bushco!

McCain seems to be so at ease Lying to the cameras ... he was laughing like a lunatic yesterday while denying the truth. He confuses just about everything that is important and thinks bombing Iran and 100 years more of war is peachy. And his wife scares humans even more! Is she on heavy drugs?

McCain is mental, malable and disoriented here on planet earth.

In other words, the perfect NeoCon candidate .

This is GREAT for McCain. His nonsupport of Pres Bush in 2000 will just add to his appeal. The HuffPo is doing him a favor. Thanks.

The sad thing about this is that McCain isn't being honest about it. If anything, I'd have more respect for the old guy for NOT voting for Bush. I mean, EVERYthing Bush did to McCain and his family was just evil so I think it would be odd if McCain DID vote for Bush.

Sad that he can't just say, I am a true Maverick and no way would I vote for a guy who would hurt my family.

His denial of considering switching parties, denial of voting for Bush have been determined to be lies.
Makes you wonder about his denial of having the affair with a lobbyist.

Nice to see this story migrate to the MSM if only in a 'minor' way.

How many more witnesses need to come forward before McCain admits to hypocrisy? There aren't that many people on the planet.

Good.

Find SOMETHING that sticks. Whatever.

Hypocritical Democrats...when Obama and Hillary kiss and make up it will be a great thing and a sunny day for reuniting the party...however, the Republicans try to bring the party together such as McCain, somehow it's implied he's lost his integrity and is not a maverick anymore.

The media creates two separate playing fields...a nice quiet, level one for Democratics and a bumpy, uphill one for Republicans.

From calling Jerry Falwell an agent of intolerance to sucking up to that lard bag Hagee and his weird doomsday cultists; that is a loss of integrity. Besides, we should kick Republicans every opportunity we get. To do less would be unpatriotic.

No, that bumpy uphill is called reality.

Ain't reality a bitch?

McCRazy has NEVER, EVER had any integrity!

The two guys quoted in the article are well-known as hack Democrat shills. Notice how their stories don't even come close to matching up?

The best line from the article is, ""She"s a flake and a poser and an attention-seeking diva,"...referring to Arianna.

Consider the source, indeed.

I would say that Arianna as a source has WAY more credibility than mcbush.

Even though the vast majority of Americans are counting the days until all we see of bush is the back of his head, mcbush abandons all principles to take on bush's base and policies. What am I missing here?

LOL! Go Arianna!

Signs that McShrub may not be the most popular republican candidate:

Back then, McCain had some dignity. I really liked him and he was my candidate. But it is pretty pathetic how far he has fallen over the course of the last eight years, just to get the nomination!

But I did nibble his ear, he was heard to mumble later.

I doesn't matter who he voted for, it matters what Bush policies he supported and which of them he'll continue in the future. The way these guys parse everything so finely they might as well be speaking Swahili for all the meaning you can take from anything they say. It doesn't matter what he says. What he's done is enough of an indicator of what he will do in the future that word games don't matter. That and his close association with wacko 'ministers' and such.
