Isn't this just a tiresome, pathetic death watch? And, she's doing it to herself. But, no doubt, the responsibility will be laid at someone else's feet.
Boy, does America ever really need to move on from the past 28 years of its federal politics !!

Actually, this is more of a Redemption Watch. We want to see some kind of grace note that will make us think kindly of Senator Clinton in the future. I don't want to go into the future thinking of her as "the crazy lady in the pant-suits". She deserves better than that, but she sure makes it hard sometimes.

Looks like the Clinton campaign is refusing to accept an agreement by Michigan Democrats in which Hillary will receive 69 delegates, and Obama would receive 59.

As Howard Wolfson put it yesterday, they want the delegates awarded in a way that reflects the election results in which Obama wasn't even on the ballot. If that is the case, they are looking for Hillary to receive a certain amount of delegates, and Obama ZERO delegates. Her campaign has turned into an absurdity.

Hillary rejected the best offer she is going to get in favor of trying to get the whole pie for herself.

I consider it a tragedy. Especially for those of us who originally supported Hillary. It's tantamount to finding out your partner of many years was cheating on you - over and over again. And now you realize you were being used, in a sense. The entire "relationship" was based on lies. It is deeply disillusioning. And painful.

Hillary's refusal to accept the deal shows that she really doesn't give a rat's round rear about the Michigan or Florida voters or delegates.

It does show that she is a grasping, scheming self-absorbed politician who is obsessed with her own issues, all at the expense of the party and the country.

She had the support of the Michigan governor and the UAW and she couldn't get her proposal to the floor of the Michigan Statehouse.

Clinton then announced that "Barack Obama's lawyers" had killed her chances.

She failed to mention that "Barack Obama's lawyers" are elected representatives in the Michigan statehouse.

They're probably lawyers. That part is true.

Hillary is now trying to assure that John McCain wins than come back in 2012 . How will that impact the Democrats as Hillary once said about the blue collar workers she uses now when in ARK. they voted against Bill 'screw em"

Hilary ran an increadibly inept campaign - it's mind boggling that Mark Penn didn't even understand about the allocation of delegates and now they come out with a begging bowl to pay this idiot tens of millions for being a dork.

Donno who's the greater fool here, the underling or his boss

there goes the last metric she was winning. apparently it's all down to puerto rico now, according to howard wolfson's newest crackpot measure the popular vote from that one contest should decide this thing. come on puerto rico, put us out of our misery & send her packing once and for all.

As an Obama supporter, I am somewhat curious why all the other tracking orgs. of this stat. still have HC ahead by a 7-10 margin. Wouldnt they all have similar access to the numbers/delegates? The diff. in spread seems to be somewhat large.

What tracking Organizations are you refering too? I can only think of 2 - Gallup and Rasmussen, and they both have Obama ahead. I have yet to see a tracking poll showing Hillary ahead, let alone with a 7 - 10 point lead.

"All the news that's fit to print" - but what, if the news doesn't fit the editor-in-chief...?

Remember, printing and broadcasting news is a BUSINESS. They LOSE, if the democratic primaries are decided too soon! That is, too soon to squeeze out yet-another million worth of advertisements aired and printed, of copies sold and viewers rated.

IT'S A BUSINESS, STUPID! Ant to maximize the profit, it sometimes fits more to withhold a news another day or two, than publish it immediately, to optimize your company's revenue. It's as filthy as that!

I know what I am talking about. I am an editor myself....

Did you hear that the Vatican has added four additional sins to its latest list, released in March? I find the changing "types" of sins fascinating (I'm not a Roman Catholic - I'm one of those passionate but unaligned individuals in both politics and religion).

Added to the list are drugs, pollution, genetic manipulation, and social and economic injustice. The announcement noted that sins were considered more "individual" in the past and now are beginning to be more socially focused.

Having had a relative who was a Maryknoll priest in Bolivia for 52 years, and deeply involved in Liberation Theology, I find this a major shift.

IF, AFTER THE NEXT TWO "FAVOURED PRIMARY" CONTESTS....PUT OBAMA OVER THE TOP....THE OTHER STATES AND COMMONWEALTH WILL VOTE.....JUST LIKE THE GOP DID AFTER MCCAIN WON.

Sadly that isn't going to happen much to the detriment of both the Democratic party and the country. Clinton's loss of the nomination was sealed even before my state of PA let me down, what happened this week with Indiana and North Carolina (kudos to both of those states) eliminated any doubt of that fact except to the Clintons and their minions as evident by these statements/actions from either Clinton or her staff just since Tuesday:

(1) Her camp suggested that the total number of votes required to win the nomination is upped by a number which coincidently includes the total number of delegates from MI & FL.

(2) Writes a letter to Obama demanding that the MI & FL delegates get counted/seated just as the those elections were "held".

(3) Refuses on a compromise to split the MI delegates evenly.

(4) In keeping with old-time backroom politics she wants the super delegates to vote in private.

Keeping in mind that she agreed in writing up front that those states wouldn't be counted as penalty for breaking the agreed voting dates.

(5) Took yet another pot shot at Obama yesterday with the 'hard time winning support from white Americans' (of which I happen to be one).

(continued on next post)

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:11 AM on 05/09/2008

(continued from previous post):

(6) Her campaign suggested that she'll drop out by early/middle of June. Why the wait? that's another whole month that could be focused on making sure the gullible American public knows what McCain stands for and show everyone his hypocrisy. Is she going to continue trying to kneecap Obama during that whole time? I think item #5 pretty much answers that one.

Then when I went out to the ABC site to read this article I saw the following headlines:

) Clinton says election can turn in a day
) Bill Clinton: Hillary can still win
) Clinton: West Virginia 'A Test for Obama'

This lady has no shame, no dignity and most importantly no integrity. If her plan is to damage Obama so that the chances of his winning the election are substantially lowered and McHypocrisy wins with her looking forward to following him in 2012, then she is greatly mistaken. Besides the beating that the Rethugs will administer to her, people who believe in fairness, integrity and what's best for this country will be out in full force to ensure her defeat. She made her carpet bag bed in New York, she can continue sleeping in it.

Obama/Pelosi o8

Not Edwards! If he can't make a decision between Obama and Clinton and be willing to speak up about it from his safe little kitchen table in Chapel Hill, how is he ever going to be able to do the right thing in Washington?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:06 AM on 05/09/2008

Not Edwards. He didn't endorse when he had the chance AND he has no real support among voters (ask Kerry). Obama is astute enough to choose the best candidate for VP. He'll probably amaze us with the wisdom of his choice.
