Fox News:

National polling firm Rasmussen Reports announced on Friday that it will stop polling people about the presidential campaign of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton because her opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, will win the Democratic nomination.

The company's vice president of finance and operations, Michael Boniello, distributed an e-mail stating that after 19 months of tracking the Democratic race, it is now clear that Clinton will remain a close second.

The scary thing is, if the media had started reporting the race being over when it really was over, this thing would have ended at least a month ago. It's kind of frightening how powerful they are.

you mean before the millions of people voted in three of the largest states in the country -- OH, PA and TX -- and voted for Hillary.

You can rightfully state that he has more delegates but please don't close your eyes to the facts. Obama still has been unable to persuade large numbers of DEM voters, who make up the majority in a number of states that he needs to win in order to win the presidency.

You can sit here and say all the nasty stuff you want about Hillary (and then claim that Obama will unite us all and bring a new kind of politics to America) but until he wins us over, he cannot win the election.

Oh yeah, I went to college and am still supporting Hillary.

I HAVE TO STRONGLY CAUTION ALL OBAMA SUPPORTERS WHOSE STATES HAVE NOT YET VOTED, PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE WHEN YOUR VOTING DATE ARRIVES. THE RACE IS NOT OVER, SO DO NOT BUY INTO WHAT THE MEDIA IS SAYING. THEY ARE GIVING OFF A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY.

IF THE MEDIA ARE ABLE TO GET OBAMA'S VOTERS TO STAY AT HOME, WITH THE FALSE SENSE THAT OBAMA HAS ALREADY WON, HILLARY WILL WALK OFF WITH THE NOMINATION, BECAUSE YOU BETTER BELIEVE THAT HILLARY IS TELLING HER SUPPORTERS TO GO OUT AND VOTE.

OBAMA SUPPORTERS, THIS RACE IS NOT DONE UNTIL ALL THE VOTING IN EVERY STATE IS DONE.
SO OBAMA VOTERS GET OUT AND VOTE, NO MATTER WHAT THE MEDIA SAYS, OBAMA NEEDS ALL YOUR VOTES, THIS RACE IS NOT OVER UNTIL ALL THE STATES HAVE VOTED!!!

Zogby is probably next. It is over; except digging and waiting for smears, real or imagined. Super delegates should not sit and wait on whats next.

Not very nice given that Rasmussen must have made money and gained lots of publicity from the democratic primary in which clinton and obama were the protagonists. I am for Obama but we should not switch out lights on Senator Clinton because everyone else has moved on to another room.

It's difficult for me to be too sympathetic to Senator Clinton. She was handed a New York Senate seat and thus assumed she would be given the Presidency. She and Bill are old school politics and we need something better. We deserve it!!! She could bow out gracefully but has chosen not to do so; and we can chose to ask the superdelegates come out for Obama now and show some courage already.

That's it, exactly. Right now, she's having to grok that she will not be president, not this time, and probably not ever. And she can't handle it! It's like trying to tell a three year old in a supermarket, "You can have a cookie or a candy bar, but not both", and they throw a friggin' tantrum. You're being reasonable, but they want BOTH, dammit! Hillary is behaving like that now, and it is just as unpleasant.

So are we supposed to keep treating her like she's still relevent just to make her feel good?

Such is the nature of politics, of which Hillary is fully aware. "If you can't stand the heat..."

It is understanding and a joy to see so many women support Hillary Clinton in her bid to become President. But with her goal slowly coming to an end, many of her supportors have insinuated they would either not vote for Obama in the fall or cast a vote for MCain in protest.

How many of those same individuals in their zest to show their support for Clinton are just as willing to possibly end one of the most important RIghts to a Woman in this country.

Currently, there are 3-4 justices on the Supreme Court that will retire over the next 4 years. On May 6, 2008, Candidate John McCain, a strong opponent against ABORTION RIGHTS stated he would appoint Judges that share his view on this subject, the Republican Conservative View. If John McCain is elected presdient by voters they will effectively handed Mr. McCain the abilty, which he intends to use, to select new justices that would in turn, REVERSE Roe vs. Wade. Thus ending Abortion Rights in the United States of America.

So I ask, if you are a Clinton Supportor, Are you willing to look at millions of American women and tell them they will no longer have this right because " I voted against Obama just because…."

Be Smart Americans. Think…

Ouch! I am not a Hillary fan, but this does seem a little unfair and premature (let a little smoke clear first). That being said, they are a private business and can do what they want.

So first the media chooses the nominee, then campaign managers, then super delegates and now pollsters. Any wonder people don't trust any of these types of people. I'd trust a used car salesman and lawyer before any of these guys. Axelrod has to be the slimiest though!

I'm staying home in November, or voting McCain.

You must have missed the part where Obama won more states, more delegates, and more votes.

Pity.

Have a good summer of pouting, Jack.

By the way - don't forget the voters. They've also pretty much said she's not the rep they want in the White House, but Clinton people keep conveniently ignoring that.

The media knows it.
The campaign managers (on both sides) know it.
The super delegates know it.
The American people know it.
The pollsters know it.

The question is - when will Clinton ACCEPT it?

Please please pleeease vote McCain.

It would be a pleasure to see you cut your American nose off to spite your face.

Yes, i agree, stay home or vote McCaine, prove to yourself once and for all that you cannot fathom voting for a Black man that legitamately won in spite of going up against one of the most powerful political machines in the country as a relative unknown. Admiting that you are a racist is the first step.

It's silly and expensive to poll someone who isn't going to be the Democratic nominee. It would be like polling for Al Gore as nominee.
