Cindy McCain said Thursday that she would never release her personal income tax filing even if her husband, Senator John McCain, was elected president. But Federal Aviation Administration records indicate that she appears to be using her personal wealth to help his campaign, through the continued use of her corporate jet.

The New York Times reported last month that during a crucial five-month period Mr. McCain's campaign regularly used a corporate jet owned by the Phoenix-based beer distributor that Mrs. McCain heads, saving the campaign hundreds of thousands of dollars. His campaign pays rates well below market ones for the plane's use because of an unresolved exemption in a recent campaign finance law that Mr. McCain backed.

McWife needs to reveal her taxes if she's gonna let the Repube candidate fly around in a jet she inherited. Sheesh.

2004 - RNC Chair Ed Gillespie called on Kerry to release his wife's returns, "Throughout history, presidential candidates have disclosed income tax information prior to Election Day. We believe Americans value disclosure and transparency in campaigns." - RNC Release 10/14/04 "We're waiting to see what they do," 'course THAT was a DEMOCRAT running.

Also, Arizona is a Community Property State, therefore assets may remain separate but one half of Cindy's earnings (as "executive") are attributable to McCain and open for review . . . so the use of "her" corporate jet is a questionable tax issue and a campaign financing law violation . . . and just smacks of "elitism" . . . but as Charles Keating, an early McCain campaign backer noted, "Who cares?"

Why does HuffPost keep bringing up a story that has no legs? Do some real work and get a real story that will stick for once.

You mean like how often he leaves the plane wearing a flag pin? None of these stories matter in the overall scheme of things (well, it is an environmental catastrophe - imagine everyone zooming around on their own jet - but lucky for us, some people are more equal than others) - but for some unfathomable reason, these type of non sequitors seem to get more air time time then real problems like McCain claiming that Iran was supporting the Al Queda when he was making his "presidential presence" felt in Iraq. This just shows the depth of his incomprehension of what is going on there and what the purpose of the US invasion of Iraq really is. While this story of McCainignorantly linking 2 enemies gets played around the world, Americans are left unaware of how ignorant and unethical they appear to the reset of the world and are left to ponder - "why do they hate us?".

Yeah, I would not be able to make it if it were not for those checks from George Soros every month. Between those and the checks from Hamas I should be able to retire by November.

Really?...cite the law.

Actually there would be a law if the FEC could ever get a quorum and actually vote on proposed Election Rules that were proposed by them in December 07.
One of the proposed rules was to close the very loophole that the McCain campaign is using regarding use of Private Aircraft owned by family members or Corporations owned by Family members. Unfortunately the Senate vote on the three nominated FEC Commisioners is tied up in a typical Washington political circle jerk. Also on hold is an FEC ruling on McCains decision to opt into public financing when his campaign was out of money and opt out of public financing when his campaign caught fire and stopped having money problems.

Silly me. I forgot. Soros money bad, Scaife money good.*

* And Coors, Olin, Bradley and the rest of the billionaires funding right wing media and think tanks since roughly the mid 1960s.

Link to the gazillion dollar Soros smear campaign please?

And so what if Soros IS financing attacks on McBush? Is that any different than the Scaife financed attacks on the Clintons that ended up getting the president impeached for lying about A BLOW JOB??? Spending hundreds of millions of dollars between the taxpayers money and all the money the Clinton haters spent doing nothing but trying to bring down a presidency out of PURE HATRED?

Whereas the Scaife link was easy to establish; the guy bragged about it, let's see all the links to Soros?

OR as usual they are the typical lies of the Thug party and those who support it?

"Scaife financed attacks on the Clintons that ended up getting the president impeached for lying about A BLOW JOB??? '

Actually, he was impeached for perjury in the investigation of his attempted rape of Paula Corbin.

That's quite different, isn't it?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:48 PM on 05/11/2008

No its not different. There were private detectives scouring all corners looking for anything to throw at him. Professional scum suckers, or muck rakers, or some such thing. The standard used to be high crimes and misdemeanors. Apparently, these practices are now tolerated by the Pelosi congress, having been put "off the table."

After McCain is defeated in the general election, this will all be a footnote in history ... just like John Kerry and his rich wife. And history will ask questions like why shouldn't the husband take advantage of the rich wife's largesse? And who cares what plane the loser flew on? You want him to fly coach on a public transport and have to take off his shoes for the security folk?
Keep your eyes on the prize, folks! Watch for vulnerabilities and liabilities that real people will care about. So much of what gets agonized over *here* carries no weight in the real world, and that's a fact.

But yet the Republicans have had great success in making trivial things into huge issues.

Remember John Edward's haircut? Al Gore's earth tones? John Kerry windsurfing? Dukakis in the tank? John Kerry ordering the wrong cheese on a Philly cheesesteak?

They just have a louder megaphone than we do.

Absolutely no offense intended, but John McCain has provided us with a wealth of legitimate stuff to use against him. His age, connections to GWBush, barbaric views of women, connections to GWBush, connections to GWBush, connections to GWBush, support of continuing the war in Iraq into the year 3,000,000 A.D, connections to GWBush, connections to GWBush, connections to GWBush. ... why not headline all that instead of pretending his use of his wife's jet matters at all?

By the way, how did Democrats let John Kerry become the nominee? That guy is the biggest joker on the planet. Democrats could have won in 2004 if you didn't put forward that goof.

Cindy, your close friend & your husband's supporter, Doug Goodyear, needs to borrow your jet.

Is that okay with you?

Doug was paid to support the Military junta in Burma so it is reasonable that with his personal

relationship, he may be able to convince these creeps to allow the suffering people there to

receive foods and medicines. Doug Goodyear is vital in helping to save the people.

SEND REPUBLICAN, DOUG GOODYEAR, TO BURMA ON CINDY'S PERSONAL JET, ASAP!

McCain is just one of us regular folk, like Bush--you know, the kind of guy you can have a beer with. They are the true, down to earth "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" self-made patriotic Americans.

This is what the Red State "can't wait to get up in the morning to vote against their own interests" Republican buys into--and it never fails to work. Every. Single. Time.
