Michelle Vetoes Hillary As Veep Pick

Close-in supporters of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign are convinced he never will offer the vice presidential nomination to Sen. Hillary Clinton for one overriding reason: Michelle Obama.

The Democratic front-runner's wife did not comment on other rival candidates for the party's nomination, but she has been sniping at Clinton since last summer. According to Obama sources, those public utterances do not reveal the extent of her hostility.

A footnote: Support is growing in Democratic ranks for Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland as vice president. He would bring to the ticket maturity (66 years old), experience (six terms in Congress) and moderation (rated "A" by the National Rifle Association). He is very popular in Ohio, a state Republicans must carry to elect a president.

On the long list of overwhelming reasons not to pick Clinton for VP, I would imagine Michelle's opinion would rank very low.

That's not to say Michelle's opinion wouldn't count on tougher calls. I've said before and I'll say again that Michelle Obama will prove to be the most consequential first ladies in American history, outshining even the likes of Eleanor Roosevelt, the most important woman of the 20th century.

Novak is about as likely to have a reliable source in the Obama campaign as he is likely to be the VP pick himself -- which is to say not at all.

More likely his source is one of his old reliable republkan leakers - like Karl Rove or Dick Cheney, who are themselves about as likely to have a reliable source in the Obama campaign as, well, Robert Novak.

With Bill Clinton walking around insulting Obama at every turn, and then stupidly insulting all Obama's voters, especially the young voters calling essentially calling them delusional, and we have Hillary and her team of attack dogs, like Goerge Step doing a republican hit job, most notable during the ABC debate in Pennsylvania, please tell me why Michelle or any of Obama's supporters would think that Hillary and Obama would make a good team. No one has forgotten Geraldine Ferraro, and her racial comments, and no one forgets how Hillary stayed silent, that ahe said nothing at all. Hillary didn't even fire Geraldine Ferraro, it was Geraldine who finally after a few days decided to step down from Hillary's campaign.
