Obama Rally

Today, May 10, marks the first day of what the Obama campaign is calling its "Vote For Change" project. From barackobama.com:

On May 10th, Barack Obama is launching Vote for Change, an unprecedented 50-state voter registration and mobilization drive. More than 100 events will be held across the country that day. Obama volunteers will register new voters as the start of a six-month voter registration drive.

Marc Ambinder has more on just what this project entails and its potential impact:
The Vote For Change program will lay the foundation for Obama's general election get-out-the-vote efforts. Obama aides won't say much more, but I gather that the campaign is constructing an incredibly elaborate online interface to allow its more than a million donors and volunteers to directly persuade their neighbors through a variety of media. Names gathered from the voter registration effort will be merged with names gathered through Obama's primary efforts and the names off of the Democratic Party's integrated voter file as well as lists purchased from outside vendors.

On election day, Obama might have more than a million individuals volunteering on his behalf. That should scare the beejeesus out of the McCain campaign and the RNC.

I was suspect when ABC was the source. I figured they were trying to lower turn out, or some other BS agenda. Maybe they were just trying to get a few hits on their site. Thats why I always look at the links location before I click on it. I will just go straight to the comments link if it one I do not want to support. I;d be interested in seeing ABC hits history since their so-called "debate."

Awesome! Did you guys catch the opening sketch on SNL tonight? Ouch, Dear Hill, it is o-v-e-r. I'm an Obama, formerly Hillary supporter and left when she got negative. The sketch was scathing and painful to watch, but very true.

Now the hack Bill Schneider is trying to push the Hillary VP thing. Check it out:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/09/west.virginia/index.html

And he's trying to do it by pushing Hilary's ability to win the insignificant West Virginia primary. Does it really matter how Obama does in a KKK state?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:01 AM on 05/11/2008

KKK state? That's a pretty f*cked up thing to say.

West Virginia is famous for being a stronghold for the KKK. Even Senator Robert Byrd got his start in the KKK, though he personally, later renounced them. But the KKK is still strong in West Virginia and in Kentucky, and Hilary is playing to them with her racist comments.

The bottom line is:

The Clintons are racists. Bill played the race card in '92 just to win the election, but it is clear now that BOTH Hillary and Bill will do anything to prevent an African-American from becoming President.

Hillary and Bill are clearly horrified at the notion, and are acting accordingly, both personally and through surrogates. It's become obvious. Hillary and Bill are the racist candidates, and the people that continue to support them are the racist voting block.
And West Virginia and Kentucky are bastions of this ignorant racist voting block.

Both states will go to McCain in November anyway, so it makes no difference who wins the primary in these primitive places.

At first I was angry at Clinton for taking the low road in the primary campaigns. But in retrospect, even as some Republican strategists have pointed out, this has helped him, because it gave him a chance to show he can stand up to a major challenge from a strong candidate; he can respond to mud in the right way; he can keep his cool; and he has a chance to address issues the Republicans were going to bring up anyhow. Now he has a better idea of how to meet the tactics the Republicans will take against him, and he has shown us that he has the guts to take on formidable issues and overcome them. And he has clearly developed a tremendous grassroot system of volunteers and resource of new voters. The people who want to discredit him now are not the ones who can be persuaded to vote for him; he is reaching out to all those who feel disenfranchised and are willing to listen. Those are the people he has to reach, and I think he's doing a hell of a job.

Not only that.
The Hillary camp has dug up about as much as can be dug up on him, and the voters have had their say on the matter.
They are sick and tired of the lies and specious innuendos that any attempt on McCain's part to resurrect them will be met with nothing but anger.

I am wondering if Clinton is trying to hold on to something she considers dirt to release after the last primary vote is cast, that way the American people can't show their complete and utter outrage at her. Paranoia? Perhaps, but her current history of tactics she makes it plausible.

Hillary is the most polarizing figure in American politics today. She not only split people between parties now she was successful at splitting the Democratic party.

Please tell me this isn't true.

Check out this link to a Carl Bernstein article:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/10/bernstein.clinton/index.html

Surely there is no possibility that Obama would even consider Hillary as VP. That would be almost as bad as her being the presidential nominee. I myself CANNOT vote for a ticket that has her name on it.

If Obama brings her on as the VP candidate, the ticket will not get my vote.

Someone please tell me Carl Bernstein is full of it.
Or let's a start a movement to nip this disaster in the bud.

I ve been seeing this all over the internet too. Even here on Hufpo. It would be disaster for Obama as Hillary is the Rethuglicans secret weapon to winning the white house again if she wins the nominations. To many people hate her and Bill and would rather see Mcwar than Hillary in the white house. And lets just say for one minute Obama has a lapse in judgment and takes on Hillary , and lets even stretch this fantasy more and pretend they would win. Do you really think Obama would want Hillary nagging him and Bill ordering him all the time?

It's not true. VolvoBirk introduced this article from today's UK Telegraph.

"The strategist said Mr Obama has "no intention" of making Mrs Clinton his running mate, but that he is prepared to offer an olive branch to her supporters by seating delegates from Michigan and Florida, won by Mrs Clinton but excluded because they broke party rules."
