Hillary Motivation

Politico:

There's a motivational shift afoot in Hillary nation.

The legions of Hillary Rodham Clinton backers still investing their cash, energy and emotion into her faltering bid for the Democratic presidential nomination seem driven not by the reasonable expectation that she can beat Barack Obama, but by the emotional desire to see her through to the end of voting and stick it to those who have already written her off.

Clinton's campaign is fanning the flames of that backlash -- against the media, against superdelegates who recently backed Obama and against Obama himself. Aides hope to convert the sentiments into protest votes that could deliver landslide victories in West Virginia and Kentucky, Clinton strongholds that are among the next three states to cast ballots.

No matter how big Clinton wins in West Virginia, which votes Tuesday, or Kentucky, which heads to the polls May 20 along with Oregon -- a likely Obama win -- she won't significantly cut into Obama's lead in pledged delegates or popular votes.

The Clintons -- and the Clintonista ilk -- are like a pack of rabid dogs.

How can you nip at someone's heel when you're the frontrunner? Wouldn't that be the person that is behind the frontrunner (hint 8 Belle).

What you term a lack of poise, others may see as righteous indignation.

By the way, does it make you feel any better to engage in name calling?

Do you ever see yourself getting behind the Democratic candidate? Or, would you prefer 4 more years of the casualties of war and a sinking economy? The choice is yours................

It wasn't me, who said so:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%BCbler-Ross_model

The "Five Stages of Grief"

1. Denial: "It can't be happening."
2. Anger: "Why me? It's not fair."
3. Bargaining: "Just let me live to see my children graduate."
4. Depression: "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"
5. Acceptance: "It's going to be OK."

But I wholeheartedly agree.

Actually, the Clinton-campaign is careening between stagees 1., 2. and 3. Stage 4. will be hard. But once they collectively will have reached stage 5., everything will be fine.

Let's help them in their severe grief to get over the five stages of grief as easy as possible. Reach them a hand and start to reconsile. This is NOT irony. I mean it. It has to be done, anyway. Therefore, the sooner, the better.

In meantime, save this post for November. For us, Hillary supporters is easy.
Step 1. We lost
2. After another Dukakis-Gore- Kerry glorious run, dems will realize who the only winner is
3. 2012 its Clinton again ( by then the Hope for legalized marijuana and change in the drug laws will have faded)

Reconsiliation is a two-way-process. Stubbornness doesn't really help. Or do you REALLY want to get stuck in phase 1. - Denial?

What about the option of supporting the Democratic candidate so we can end this war and get the economy on the right track? Or is it more important for you to sit back and hope for failure so you can say, "I told you so"? That is pretty sad!

Listen Hillary they love him more than they do you. No matter what you do you can't change that. What you are doing is making hard for any woman coming behind you. When you are running with the big dogs you have to act like one. Sorry there are no do overs. Its starting to look like the prom queen didn't get asked to the dance and she went ballistic.

Hillary Clinton has become the "Ron Paul" of the Democratic Party... Can't win, but won't go away.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:34 AM on 05/12/2008

The difference between the two is that Ron Paul has integrity and is like-able. Ron Paul isn't running to spoil it for the Republicans. McCain already has the nomination. Hillary is running to spoil the party and doesn't have any integrity.

Superdelegates ignore the electoral map.
I'm sure its been fun but let's win in November.
Give the party back to the people.
Count all the votes.

And how do you propose that the voters of Caucus states be counted? You're arguments are always so flimsy. But then again you are just a Republican posting as a Dem. SO please, by all means, shut your corn hole -- it's quite odious and not fair to true Hillary supporters.

Can I just say, briefly, I disagree with this whole "Hillary Clinton has set women's candidates back" moronic issue some of you made up.

And I can't stand Hillary.

But look at Kathleen Sebelius, the governor of Kansas. You hear her name on here for V.P. and President in 2016 constantly. Look at Janet Napalitano, the governor of Arizona. Hugely popular, slightly younger than Sebelius (Sebelius is 59, I think Napalitano is like 54) and also a front-runner for 2016. Claire McCaskell, who's also younger, is quickly becoming a star. Sara Palin (governor, Alaska) and Cristine Gregoire (governor, Washington, and who's good on t.v.) Both in their 40s.

We're going to see a woman president in the next 8-12 years no matter what. She's probably not going to be named McCaskill. But we're going to see it, thank God. And these are all whip smart women.

They've learned a lot from this campaign about what to do and what not to do. And I guarantee you one of them is going to run and win. (Slightly off topic but they all seriously dislike Hillary. That to me has always said something about HRC, but whatever.)

Point is: society is changing. We're getting a woman president sooner or later (and this is coming from an Obama supporter.) Hillary's certainly not my first choice, and she's made many mistakes, but she's also made some huge gains we just can't quite see yet.

I am sorry but I have seemed to have missed the memo. I was brought up to not put credence in a person's gender or race. The person to be selected for POTUS should be the most qualified for the job at the time. If it happens to be a woman then no problem. If it happens to be the son an Inuit, again no problem.

Saying that a woman will be a female in the next 8 - 12 seems to be filled with prejudice, which was not something we were not suppose to succumb. Please set me straight if I suppose to judge people not based on who they are or their ability but rather their gender or race.

That's not what the poster was saying at all! To recognize up and coming female leaders is not saying you have to choose one as your candidate for 2016. You really stretched that too far.

I love this rational thoughtful post. The problem with being too emotional about your candidate is that you can't think when your emotions are in control.

I have finally realized that a Clinton fanatic cannot be reasoned with. They want Hillary (Bosnia and all) or Nothing. I can only hope than enough of them come to their senses in November. I know all of them will not. Some are too far, down the emotional trail.

Interpretations of Clinton campaigns actions and comments going forward should read like this:

"I was happy to be a team player for the DNC when I was the "inevitable" nominee and leading the polls. Now that I"m losing I want to change the rules and metrics for victory so that I still have a remote shot. I learned the tactic from President Bush and the war in Iraq so now I care more about the popular vote than delegates even though that"s not what it takes to win in the rules. Did I mention I care more about personal power than my political party? If I can"t win I"ll take you all down with me you fuckers."

The real irony is that Clinton"s campaign now revolves around what built Obama to great success. ..hope

New Clinton Team Motivation: Stick It To Naysayers

More New Clinton Team Motivations:

1- Getting used to Tasting Defeat is like getting used to eating Stinky Cheese

2- The Bigger they are, the Harder they fall. That must mean we got really big, and big is good.

3- Losing Builds Character.

4- Because being #2 is better than being #1. 1 is the loneliest number.

5- We reminded the world that being uneducated and kinda racist makes you special.

6- Because we might be able to write off that $11,000,000 loss on our taxes as 'charity'.

7- "Losing" is the new "Winning"

8- Steal Obama's slogans! "Hope. For Change!"
Quarters. Nickels. Dimes. Hopefully we can pay off Mark Penn.

9- Defiance in the face of Inevitable Defeat is really cool; kinda like that "300" movie.

10- Just Because.

This is not a mature approach.

I guess I understand it, to a small degree, from the Clinton campaign. Prove she can at least stay in until the end. And show some in the media, who are being insanely stupid, what is being done right. Ok. Cool. But after that, really now but whatever, the focus needs to start being on what's best for the Party and best for the country.

Getting back at people is a waste of time. For everyone.

No offense to "stringer" with whom i in fact agree...........but I continue to find great irony in the now-common pious intonations of the Obamites that "now we must focus on the good of the party"

Just a few short weeks ago it was...."lead, follow, or get out of the way !"

Now, of course, the interests or Obama and the party coincide,...so the party must be rehabilitated......and why not make friends with our old friends the Superdelegates?..........also,........"isn't it a shame how the evil and racist Hillary tried to disenfranchise Florida and Michigan? Perhaps something can be done......"

As "stringer puts it best ....." Ok. Cool. But after that, really now but whatever....."

I wonder if the acceptance speech will be in English?...................................................tm

I'm 55 years old - I look at the FACTS before making my choice. Why is having hope, believing in change, suddenly something to be derided?
Seems to me like that's all that Hillary has going for her at this point!
I have no problem at all with Hillary staying in the race as long as she can afford it - I just wish she would spend her time running against Republicans, remember them?

Another appeal to all those who support Sen. Obama like me.

Let's PLAY NICE like he does.Kind and respectful even when kitchen sink soap scum is thrown at his face. If the situation were reversed (just think and it could have been!) I would be much more attuned to fall into line as a Democrat if treated with understanding and a consoling tone when looking at the abyss. I'd hope Clintonistas would not say "neener, neener, " like some of us are. Even if they are not ready to throw in the towel, be kind, be patient. Be Obama-like. Don't be hasty. This is supposed to be a new kind of politics and many of us sound like we could brain each other. Not good!

Let's come together as Democrats- it's going to take time- the first step is kindness and understanding.
