Novak: Michelle Obama Nixed Hillary As VP

Conservative columnist Robert Novak alleges in a new column that Michelle Obama has nixed the idea of Hillary Clinton as a VP candidate:

Close-in supporters of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign are convinced he never will offer the vice presidential nomination to Sen. Hillary Clinton for one overriding reason: Michelle Obama.

The Democratic front-runner's wife did not comment on other rival candidates for the party's nomination, but she has been sniping at Clinton since last summer. According to Obama sources, those public utterances do not reveal the extent of her hostility.

But the Obama campaign brushed off the column in colorful terms:

[Barack Obama] dismissed it with a flit of his hand. He nearly didn't say anything, but then offered: "My wife does not talk to Bob Novak on a regular basis."

Communications director Robert Gibbs suggested afterward that the article should be set aside "in case of a toilet paper emergency."

Despite the source, I hope that MIchelle weighs in to protect her husband from the vernom that has continously come out of the Clintons.

Given the desperation that they are showing to snatch the nomination from Obama's hands, one can only imagine what they would do to try and undermine his presidency and future.

Obama would do well if he really "turned the page on the Clinton". I will write to Team Obama to put my 3-cents in on this idea

Like the crusty old Ebenezer Scrooge Robert Novak is in need of the three spirits. On a hot summer night the ghosts of politics past, present and future need to pay him a visit with the divine hope of saving his soul before he passes on beyond the horizon. He needs to recognize the sins of the past that have lead to the sins of today that promise the divine retribution of tomorrow, every dog will surely have his/her day, and some dogs will get two days. A journalist is a special person in society. The society places trust in the journalist to report the relevant facts of a nation in action domestic and foreign. When they betray that trust only an exercising of the demons can restore Tiny Tim Cratchit faith that all is right with the world and that God should bless everyone.

So Mr. Novak cannot tell me anything until the scrooge in him has been vanquished by a spiritual level experience that touches his soul and frees him from the ice of his debilitating affliction of heart and mind. His analysis is not worth reading!

I'm an Obama supporter, and no fan of McCane, or his wife Cindy. However, this post is extremely mis-representative, and only presents the negative side of Cindy McCain. Did you actually read the Wikipedia article, or did you copy this excerpt from somewhere else? For example, according to the Wikipedia page, "Cindy McCain became addicted to opioid painkillers such as Percocet and Vicodin,[29] which she initially took to alleviate pain following two spinal surgeries for ruptured discs.." Now, admittedly, there are plenty of negative things said about Cindy McCain on the Wikipedia page, but there also are several things that indicate she has tried to do good things for others.
As I said, I am 100% for Obama, and against McCain as a candidate for president, but we need to be much more accurate and careful in criticizing McCain. For example, I am all for setting up a 527 that makes sure that every time a video of Wright is played on Fox, that an equally bad video of Hagee is played. However, the above negative attack on Cindy McCain is mis-representative, and I think it does not serve Obama well.
