Conservative columnist Robert Novak alleges in a new column that Michelle Obama has nixed the idea of Hillary Clinton as a VP candidate:

Close-in supporters of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign are convinced he never will offer the vice presidential nomination to Sen. Hillary Clinton for one overriding reason: Michelle Obama.

The Democratic front-runner's wife did not comment on other rival candidates for the party's nomination, but she has been sniping at Clinton since last summer. According to Obama sources, those public utterances do not reveal the extent of her hostility.

But the Obama campaign brushed off the column in colorful terms:

[Barack Obama] dismissed it with a flit of his hand. He nearly didn't say anything, but then offered: "My wife does not talk to Bob Novak on a regular basis."

Communications director Robert Gibbs suggested afterward that the article should be set aside "in case of a toilet paper emergency."

Obama is a strong man, so he chose a strong woman. They are so beautiful.

My husband thinks Michelle is sizzling hot. (He's a hard-working white guy, BTW.)

I wouldn't believe a word Novak says. The traitor (Valerie Plame outer) does not have the best interest of the country at heart, let alone the Democratic party.

No conservative politician is more loyal to this country than to his party and his party leadership. As graydon carter pointed out, GW Bush will leave his office in the same shape a baby leaves behind its diapers.

there's one flaw in this analogy- anything Novak says or writes isn't useful as TP, it is precisely what TP was designed to clean up...

You got that right.

I would use that column to wrap up fish entrails, only thank God my local paper does not carry the jerk.

I watch Novak occasionally, perhaps once every 2 months when I am channel surfing. Cannot stand him for more than 5 minutes because nothing insightful ever comes out of his mouth. He is worse than those other equally useless empty suits - Fred Barnes, Bill Kristol, Brit Hume who pass themselves off as "pundits". Why is Novak around, especially since he is not so easy on the eyes either? He diminishes the GOP, television, print media, anything he touches - who would want to be associated with someone so slimy?

If you want the Republicans to join together Put Hillary on the Ticket with OBAMA, They will come out in Force.

Does anybody believe that someone in Baracks campaign would be talking to this guy?
He is just pulling it out of his ass, making it up...lying.
But a roll of TP with Novaks image on each sheet would be fun to have around.

Bob Novak speaking is the eqiuivalent to me going to the bathroom and taking a S*&!...All this Hillary on the ticket as a VP talk, look at it from Obama's standpoint. Do you really want the wife of a 2 term president as your VP, that includes that very former president snooping around the Whitehouse. And after Hillary's brand of politics can you really embrace her as a VP? Embrace her support, give her a senior cabinet position, but VP? There are plenty of other eligible VP candidates out there, just giving her the VP position is pandering in my eyes.

1. Unlike most people, Michelle Obama is not intimidated by Hillary Clinton. At All. That should scare Hillary Clinton because it means that Michelle Obama will not be swayed by fear of Hillary Clinton. Because Michelle and Barack seem to have a real marriage (unlike the Clintons), her voice will be heard and heeded by Barack. She is not going to let Hillary Clinton anywhere near her husband's white house.

2. Obama is a flawed candidate. However, he seems to be very committed to his ethical values. He is remarkably tenacious when it comes to his own moral standards, even to the point of self-sabotage (Rev. Wright, not fighting Hillary with more venom, etc. ). In the end, he will not choose her as VP because it will compromise his vision and ethics. This is a man who would rather lose his way than win her way. He's going to pander to Clinton, but he will not hire her as VP. .

I don't know anyone who would be intimidated by Hillary Clinton. My circles are not usually intimidated by loser egomaniacs.

Can you show me one human who is not flawed? If you can, I will show you the stairway to the Pearly Gates.

It all depends on the flaw in question, dunnit?

We are all "flawed" or as the bible teaches we are all imperfect human beings. And Obama has certainly never claimed to be perfect. No supporter of Obama should think of him as being a perfect person but he is certainly the best politician we have seen in a long time. And I do not mean politician in what has now become the traditional sense which means they get a chance to lord it over others and to be served and have the biggest and best of what this life has to offer. I mean a politician as one who enters politics to serve, organize, inspire and motivate people so as to effect real change for a people, a community, a country or the world. To make the world a better place for ourselves and for future generations. Obama has already shown that he is more than equal to the task of being that inspirational, charismatic and motivational politician who will move a people to get things done.

Probably doesn't want Bill around the White House propositioning her every time she is in ear shot and doing his best George Costanza impression "I believe it's pronounced Menage a Trois..."

Come on, why are we even reading anything by Novak. The idiot committed treason and is a mouth piece for the GOP.
