Last night's all new "Saturday Night Live" was hosted by actor Shia Labeouf. The show opened with Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton giving a message to America.

Poehler's Clinton says how the race is "hopelessly deadlocked" and she gives reasons why she will make the better president. Reason one? "I am a sore loser... I will probably refuse to campaign for him." Second: "My supporters are racist." It goes from there.

So very sad but true, still managed to get a laugh out of it though. Would be interesting to see HRC's reaction. When SNL's skit was in her favor she was tickled pink, cackling, grinning and inappropriately bringing it up every opportunity she got. Importing it into her stump speeches and presidential debates (which looked very unpresidential by the way). Really went disturbingly overboard....hmmm will SNL become "elitist" now?

They say art imitates life as does SNL and the Manchurian Candidate. I'm amazed how much Hillary Clinton has in common with the mother character in this movie. The Merel Streep's characters is even talking the other candidate being "unelectable" The man that wins the presidency coincidently just happens to have 2 daughters( Obama) The directors must have used a mold of Hillary for this part.

That might be right, unfortunately (unfortunate for many reasons). I support Obama, but this is not funny. It's the type of thing one of my friends might soberly say about Hillary and not be attempting to be funny. It could have been funny if maybe they had actually quoted her more or less "My supporters are working voters, hard-working voters, white voters, voters with pick-ups, voters who believe we should recognize all the flags that have flown over the U.S...." I don't know exactly how it would go right now, but I think you see the general idea.

When Tracy Morgan read Hillary's last rites. LOL

Best comeback of 08, so far, by a comedy show.

You know many of the comments are ridiculous. SNL should actually rethink what they just did. To present the view that if you support Hillary you are a racist. To paint Hillary as a sore loser is not appropriate. I have not found their characterizing of the candidates funny and Hillary should not have used them in one of the debates.I feel that they add fuel to the fire and by them doing this recent skit, it has not been helpful to either candidate.
This I see as an insult to all Americans. We have progressed much further racially as a country. Hillary did not help the situation by making the statement of "white hardworking working class". The American people are better than that and have a sense of what is right and what is not. There are hardworking people of every race, creed, color, age, and class. The Democratic party must now unite and support the Democratic nominee and not help the Republican party to gain a victory. It's time to unite for the good of all!

McCain and Hillary have similar appeal- they are both hawks for one. If Hillary were the nominee they would be fighting over a similar base. The GOP attack machine would have a field day with HIllary and the GOP base would come out in mass to oppose her.

She is a very, very weak candidate who has long lost her key advantage over the other candidates- name recognition. But the racists will be coming out strong in Kentucky and West Virginia. Congratulations Hillary!

And then they will go on to vote for McCain in the general.

Unite? How, when half or more of Hillary supporters have said they will vote for McCain? She has intentionally divided the party and stoked already rampant resentment toward blacks in the party. Look how Bill is running around WVa lying, telling these low information voters that BO/media is making fun of them, and ginning up non-existent resentments, just to increase Hillary's vote margin. We already knows she's going to win, but that's not good enough; the Clinton's have to, like Roman soldiers, pour salt onto the earth so nothing will ever grow there again. But this is the best explanation of why people are voting the way they are:

I agree with you,but Hillary herself has earlier on said the show was funny and informative.Remeber when Barack wasnt happy with the sketch following the Ohio debate, potraying him as the WEAK guy who can not make tough decisions? Hillary liked that, just like she has also describe FOX news as a fair and balance network following their coverage of Rev Wright.
You what they say,"Those who live by the sword, shall die by the sword"

Even as one whose vague feeling of distrust for hillary has transformed over the course of this campaign into full blown hatred, I agree that the SNL was unfair to her supporters, but more importantly, destructive to the goal of acheiving party unity..

But hey,, SNL is trying to revive its image as cutting-edge, relevant satire after a long period of dormancy. it's a comedy show playing for laughs more than insights...

When political media analysts dissesct the effect of TV on the campaign, they will be far more impressed with Obama's having survived the ABC gang rape debate. That was the truly an example of media bias and malpractice designed to poison the well. SNL was aiming only for a few guffaws.

Your Hate is alive and well !

The ABC debate happened to be one of the most civil that we've seen, not to mention the very first one they've actually asked Obama questions he needed to answer instead of dancing around .

You should try to remember , you and your ( ilk ) cannot send Obama to the whitehouse alone , so maybe some of the most disgusting comments need to take a hike ....eh ?

Many a truth said in jest !!

It is Hillary who has been unfair to her supporters . SNL has no obligation to Clinton supporters. Hillary has made a mockery of the entire system...and everyone is so cynical they can barely see it ...

MSM this am is all about whether Hillary MEANT her remark about "hardworking WHITES" not going to vote for a black. Some of the pundits (Craig Crawford, for one) are saying that she was only making a true statement about the existance of racism. All of her supporters on tv are trying hard to avoid talking about the "hardworking" part of her unfortunate statement.

Well, even if what she said is true, there is more than one way to describe such a situation. She could have called it "regrettable," and made it clear that she would do everything she could to remedy it. Instead she crowed about how it is not HER problem, therefore Obama's "situation" operates in her favor and the super-delegates ought to realize that and choose her. In other words, she gave the "narcissim" plea.

Her supporters are also huffy about being viewed as racists when (as far as WE know) there could be other matters that influenced their choice, Well, the more overtly racist her remarks, the more people who remain in her camp in spite of her behavior will be viewed as being racists themselves . If Obama's blackness is a strike against him (and if this is some kind of "reality" that his supporters must accept), then so is Hillary's seeming racism a strike against her that her supporters will have to accept and to recognize that their choice of her is going to reflect on them and their values.

Good luck seeing Clinton ever regret anything. Look how she handled the Bosnia lie. All huffy, ok, ok, I made a mistake, I'm human, so what? Yeah, that's real integrity for you. I think her dishonesty numbers are rising again.

This is not a slip of the tongue. She has made this statement more than once "hard working americans, white americans." This is carefully crafted language to exploit racist sentiment in West Virginia and kentucky. The statement implies that only white americans are hard working-- and it's aimed at those who are angry about job loss and economic struggle-- it perpetuates the stereotype of the "lazy" black person. It is meant to fan the flames of racism and has nothing to do with reality. I am so angry that we have a democratic candidate who is out there exploiting race and she hasn't been brought to the carpet for it.

Hillary sure is looking more like Saddam Hussein every day. She wants to obliterate Iran just like Saddam. Now she wants praise for winning the votes in Michigan, where she was the only candidate on the ticket. When Saddam used to hold elections, he was the only name on Iraq's ticket. When he would win, he'd parade around the country bragging about how all the people loved him. It makes you wonder why she voted to invade Iraq.

Dendy,

How is it that 95% of Hillary supporters see this as a horrible attack, then have some who see it as "ironic satire", asserting that the "joke's on us"?

It's a matter of perspective, and if only 5% see it as anything other than an exposure and characature, then methinks your submission might be misguided. It was horribly damaging and a truth parody.

When Chevy Chase was doing Gerald Ford, falling every ten seconds, was those skits intended as brilliant satire and attack on people who watched Gerald Ford fall?

Oh but she loved it when they made fun of Barack about being handed a pillow during the debate. She liked that skit so much she brought it up in a debate which I thought was totally tacky, but that's the kind of candidate she is and most of us see right through it. Everyone except the old racists and the new ones too for that matter.

She sure did, and there was a noticeable shift in the MSM coverage of her campaign, and a noticeable toughening against Obama.

SNL took a lot of heat for being (seemingly) Pro-Hillary.

Somehow I don't think Hillary will be bringing up this one. :)

What we see here is a modern version of the Latin phrase "in vino veritas" The only slightly more up to date portion is that "wine" is replaced with humor.
