Last night's all new "Saturday Night Live" was hosted by actor Shia Labeouf. The show opened with Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton giving a message to America.

Poehler's Clinton says how the race is "hopelessly deadlocked" and she gives reasons why she will make the better president. Reason one? "I am a sore loser... I will probably refuse to campaign for him." Second: "My supporters are racist." It goes from there.

Those blacks in North Carolina are so racist..they voted for Barack as president and voted Kay Hagan(a white woman),, who won the clear majority of black voters in NC Senate race. Guess who she was running against? Jim Neal a black guy running for senate.

MSM won't report this because they would rather spin their bigotry and divide the country by race baiting. MSM will makes their money by fostering ignorance and hatred. So the idiots that would vote for McCain good luck to ya.

Black people have survived Slavery, Civil War, Segregation, Racism, Reganomics. Black Americans have shed blood in every single war this country has fought and loved this country when it did not love it back. Their are no Americans any more Patriotic than black Americans because of the blood and treasure that has been sacrificed. That's why it is that more disgusting to see the Clinton's self destruct the way they have. Hillary has been exposed as to what she is a race baiting power monger. You don't lend your campaign $12M because you love your country you lend it $12M because it is an investment and you are looking for a return on investment.

The Hillary supporters willing to suicide bomb themselves and vote for McCain good luck with that. President Obama will still invite you guys to the inauguration because that is how much class he has.

I cannot watch Amy Poehler do her Clinton impersonation any longer. It's a testament to her accuracy than has me hitting the remote: it's her flat Chicagoland accent, er, her Scranton accent, er, her New York accent, er...("what city am I in?") accent...

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:23 PM on 05/11/2008

You forgot her southern black preacher accent. But that's understandable since she put that one to bed this election...

I am with Obama all the way, but I am so because I believe in his vision for this country. We share common goals and I feel part of this movement... in fact, an integral part.

Because I believe first and foremost in the goals of this Presidency, I think we should try to put aside our negative emotions about Hillary Clinton and focus on winning the presidency so we can promote the goals of this movement. We need to unite this party and stop feeding this division.

What happens if Obama does the smart thing and asks Clinton to be his VP? Are we going to get all offended? Well you will if you keep nourishing all these negative emotions... Focus on the agenda my friends and fellow Obama movement. We have a tremendous job to do, and that includes the Clintons. Yes, we want to get rid of the past, but the past is still with us, and you count it by the millions... that would be all those who have voted for Clinton. One step at a time my friends. You can't transform a nation in one election.

Bill Player the Race card. Hillary is playing the Race Card.. Fox News has always played the Race Cards..

By all means possible Obama shouldn't have a snow balls chance in hell, RIGHT..

The Guy is Have Black and Half White, he's mixed.,

I am soooo Happy to see the Young, Well educated, Well off and people that really see him as a new Breed of Politician..

Obama will set the standard for all other Presidents to follow.. He will work across the Aisle with Republicans so the both parties will stop the Stand still and bickering that has slowed our modern progress..

We need change people.

Hillary reps old style all talk and little action.... She hasn't done squat since she became a Senator..

She needs to run for Govenor of NY and fix NY's State healthcare 1st.. Those 911 folks are still suffering when she took lobbyist money and cut off the long term healthcare for the States 911 workers,..

Just stating the facts, jack...

Obama fought for South Chicago's poor and for healthcare.. He did something before he was a politician..

At least he has a better history than the Clintoons...

I have refused to believe that Hillary was just dragging this out so Obama will lose and she can run again in 2012. I no longer believe that to be the case. I now believe that she is intentionally damaging Obama to her own selfish political ambition. I do not believe she loves this country, I believe she loves power.

Whatever you believe about Obama's chances in the general, or if racists will vote for him, Hillary would not be able to bring blacks back together if she wrestles the nomination away from him.
Combine that with the fact that every republican will come out of the woodwork to vote against her (for whatever reason, they HATE Hillary) and the end result is a loss in the general. Period.

Agreed. The white working class that has backed her will by and large vote McCain. Too much overlap with their demographics.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:56 PM on 05/11/2008

And that demographic that is the so called "Regan Democrats" that alienated the Democrats and are largely responsible for the majority Republican presidents over the last 40 years. Whether you want to minimize their importance or not, they do influence elections as evidenced in the results of the last 40 years.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:14 PM on 05/11/2008

True. The white working class will definitely vote for McCain. They love voting against their best interests. (That's why they're the white "working class") If they had a lick of sense they would be in the white middle class. You know, not sending their kids to Iraq, but sending their kids to college. You know, not making under 50K a year. You know, instead of waking up early to "go a hunting" or to "go and thank the lord" they would be working another job or going back to school.

It's more than her loss of the black vote, jetset. It's now her loss of the young vote, and the $50K+ vote that she'll never be able to regain, unfortunately.

Part of me feels sorry for her. Her campaign advisors should be sued for malpractice. Honestly, though, if "The buck stops here", she's ultimately responsible for surrounding herself with the people she felt were the best.

Not good judgment in this instance, I would assert.

I too believe that Hillary wants power, thought she was the inevitable nominee, and does put herself before country. I am very disappointed in both the Clintons. My gut feeling from the beginning was not to support her ... I started with Edwards, but saw that Barack Obama was special, and right for the country. I do believe that Hillary knows this -- it is obvious. Question: What is she up to? It just makes no sense for her to push on ... And her "base" -- why would they not vote for Barack Obama?! He did nothing wrong to her ... she is the one that tried her best to hurt him in a most negative campaign. So, Hillary supporters: What is this all about? Are you all daft?!!!

I'm an Obama supporter, I know that not all Clinton supporters are racists and I know that not everyone who votes against Obama is a racist.

But there is no "we" going any route. SNL is a comedy show, and this is a pretty good piece of satire lampooning the way race and the use of the race card have been subtly (and no-so-subtly) bandied about in this campaign.

It isn't the Obama campaign's message, it isn't HuffPost's message. There is no we. It's a comedy show.

Most of HRC's supporters are NOT racist. But she IS right there are some of her supporters that would NOT vote for an African American. Wake up, racism IS alive and well in America. And those that deny it are fooling only themselves.

And although I do not like that Hillary had turned the campaign negative and made some ridiculous remarks. I would still vote for her over McCain. America FIRST, then the party they both should come before any individual candidate.

I am very surprised at how many Hill supporters say they would not vote for Obama if he become the nominee. What's that about?! He never went for her throat when she said something wrong. He completely avoided the "sniper fire" comment. But she couldn't resist commenting on the "bitter" comment.

The only time he spoke against her was on policy issues, like the gas tax holiday which most people knew was a gimmick. But then she turned around and said that Obama didn't care about working people because he was against it. Many things are said in a campaign but that doesn't mean that I would be STUPID enough to vote for a Republican if my candidate didn't win!!!

To all Hillary supporters -

You're pissed, and frustrated. We get it. Honestly? If Obama lost the nomination, we'd be in precisely the same boat. But here we are.

You need to consider the following, I believe:

We currently have a war going on that everyone believes was ridiculous getting into. And we're still there. 5 years, 4,000 American and 100,000 Iraqi civilian lives later.

We're in economic turmoil. We have a $3trillion debt to China. We need education reform (ranked 37th internationally). We need social security reform. Veteran's reform. A Republican win means 3 new conservative SC Justice appointees, and the overturning of Roe v. Wade. We need medicare reform. Healthcare reform. Stem-cell research. Gay rights. Lobby reform. We need to avoid the next two wars in Iran and Syria.

We need to install these VALUES. That's what makes us Democrats.

It is unfortunate that the person who you wanted to represent you in bringing about changes that reflect these values will not be that person. But you need to take comfort in knowing that the Democratic nominee holds precisely the same values and ideals. All of them.

You cannot put more stock in a nominee - who you've never met and only know from TV - than you do in the values that they represent. Consider, please, that this election has less to do with a "person" than it does about "the people".

Please help us get these SOB's out of the White House for a long, long

I will never vote for Barack Obama because I don't believe he is best prepared to handle the terrible issues facing our country at this time. You have called all white people who won't vote for Barack Obama racists. You are so sucked into Barack Obama and his movement, that you can't see that out here in the real world , people are worried about who will best handle the war in Iraq and on terror, the economy, the oil crisis, the housing crisis. That person will either be Hillary Clinton, or John McCain.

Just as you suggest that I am "sucked in" to Obama's hypnotic qualities (okay... I live in Chicago and have followed the guy's career for twelve years and know he's as honest as the days are long, and I've seen first-hand the remarkable things he's done in Chicago and the Illinois Senate... other than that I don't know jack about him)... I should ask you out there in the "real world", what makes him UNable to tend to the war - that he saw as being idiotic to begin with, and has said so - , the economy - (see: Iraq war, and global relations/trade), the oil crisis (hmmm... the war? Middle East policy?), and the housing crisis (which is a direct result of the economic downturn, which resulted from the borrowing of 3trillion dollar from China to fund... the war?).

John McCain would need another $3-4 trillion from China to fund Iran and Syria. NOT what I'd call brillian fiscal policy.

And your suggestion that Hillary Clinton's policies trump those of Obama on these issues is lost - only because she ran on the same policies.

Put the pipe down. There is no way to "best handle" something that should not be handled at all - the war. Obama will do the same thing the others will do as his plan only calls for removal of combat brigades.

All the candidates are war mongers, McCain is just crazier than the rest, He also seems to think it glorious unlike the others who see it as a necessary evil used to regionally maintain American geostrategic dominance.

All the Hillary people that go to McCain deserve the economic rape that would result, but the rest of us would have to go down with the ship. Just please... don't do it to the country, she's been brutalized enough.

Becky - John McCain "is best prepared" ::
- to continue INDEFINITELY an illegal war that has killed 4000+ American men and women
-
- to answer continue and increase tax cuts for corporations and the uber wealthy
- to overturn Roe vs Wade and take away a woman's choice over her own body
- to appoint more reactionist Supreme Court judges who will further shred the Constitution, support criminal amounts of "executive power", and continue to support the Justice Dept. in
undermining the rule of law for Republican politcal benefit
-to put the nation in danger with his loose cannon rage problem
-to turn the whole country over to corporations that will contine to use it for their insatiable greed
Is that what you want?
It is disappointing that your chosen candidate has not won the nomination - but the importance of this election and wresting the controls away from the Rebublicans before they destroy our country - is much bigger than the person who wins the nomination. It is much bigger than your or my or anyone person's preference. It is about changing the destructive course set and followed by the Bush administration. McCain will continue that COURSE x10. We need to put aside our personal issues and start uniting as Democrats so that we can begin healing our country. Please, think about what a vote for MCain really means.

And please don't forget the 12,000 vets who committed suicide last year. More soldeiers than actually died in combat that the Bush administration lied about and said the number was around 700. These brave troops risked life and limb and on actually surviving, they came home to receive little help. The new GI bill to update the old and less adequate one was not supported or voted for by McCain. He thought it would make things 'too good' for vets and they might leave the services. The man has no compassion for his fellow soldiers and has voted against any legislation to support them. That is a reason not to vote for him alone.

Its not true that most white people support Hillary, or that they would in a Clinton vs. McCain match. What Hillary is doing is saying to her supporters in a subtle way "Don't vote for Obama because he's black". She's been saying this in various ways for a long time. What she doesn't seem to realize is that the more she does this the less likely it is that black people would vote for her under any circumstances. True to form, every way Hillary tries to attack Obama she injures herself more.
Can you imagine Obama going around saying that a lot of men won't vote for Hillary because she is a woman? Although this may be true, to use it against her would stir up an incredible amount of outrage. Yet Hillary has no problem doing this which just confirms that she has no ethical standards.

What did Obama mean by that??? People want to focus on what support their narrative. Michelle Obama said black people are going to "wake up and get it" - (wink, wink) as to why they need to support Barack Obama????? The Presidential position is, ultimately, the country's General Manager.

Clinton had the brand, the money, the network, the talent, the demographics, the legacy, and the machine.

And she was beaten soundly by a better manager.

THAT is what I look at when I consider electability. He had every disadvantage, and perservered.

I don't want to sound like I could to any better. I couldn't. But Hillary Clinton was given every advantage, and... frankly, mismanaged this organization horribly. I don't want her second test to have much more dire consequences.

"This segment with Amy Poehler is a satire on the attitude of Obama supporters."

lol! This proves that anything is possible when it comes to tricking yourself into what you should believe.

The piece is a satire on Hillary's arguments on why she thinks she should stay in the race.

1) I'm a sore loser.
2) My supporters are racist.
3) I have no ethical standards.

She has a few good chances to graciously drop-out and bring the party together. Instead, she constantly moves the goal posts and no longer is winning by any metric. As a result, she's now resorting to rhetoric that plays the race card ("I'm winning the white vote.")

Of course, not all of her supporters are racist but it's an exaggeration on the point where she is most recently saying that Obama cannot win the white vote.

Lastly, this is a play on her willingness to use kitchen-sink tactics in order to win. Her husband plays the race card and she's willing to repeatedly fabricate a story about dodging sniper fire in an attempt to show her as a tough, international leader.

If 'becky' would choose to not be so ignorant about Hillary's use of the race card, she might try to read 'The Emerging Republican Majority' by Kevin Phillips. It is was the blueprint for the Republican Southern Strategy. The Clintons governed in a 'sothern strategy' state and they use it very well themselves now that they need it.
