The Washington Post reports on another grim news event for Hillary Clinton: confirmation that her campaign is $20 million in debt.

With her campaign falling ever deeper into debt, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton spent a rainy Mother's Day seeking votes ahead of Tuesday's primary here, turning a deaf ear to calls for her to leave a Democratic presidential contest she has little hope of winning.

Clinton aides continued to insist that she will remain in the race even while confirming that she is $20 million in debt. "The voters are going to decide this," senior adviser Howard Wolfson said on "Fox News Sunday," acknowledging the $20 million figure. "There is no reason for her not to continue this process." Wolfson said he has seen "no evidence of her interest" in pursuing the second-place spot on the Democratic ticket, contrary to rumors that she is staying in the race to leverage a bid for the vice presidential nomination.

Campaign Chair Terry McAuliffe suggested
Clinton might lend her campaign more money:

Terry McAuliffe, the Clinton campaign chairman, told Tim Russert on "Meet the Press" that he spoke to Clinton about the possibility of contributing more money and "she said that she would be willing to do it." However, McAuliffe insists, "We haven't needed it."

Millionaire Clinton continues to loan her campaign money so that she can run for president, BUT she wants hard-working people to pay back the loan? It doesn't sound like Clinton really cares for working-class folks.

If she has the money to burn on a losing campaign, go for it; but don't expect hard working people to sacrifice food on their table to pay for it!!!!

I am not donating another dime. She has clearly demonstrate to me that she makes poor decisions, and spends money she doesn't have. What a disappointment.

The Chinese dishwashers of new york will come up with the money. Imagine that Clinton claims she will be ready on day one and she can't even run a campaign.

I think she is actually insane at this point.

no, there are treatments for insanity; she is personality disordered and there are no treatments for the truly sociopathic. Her obsession stems from her grandiosity, narcissism, entitlement and the fact that she is a fool and we finally found out. The latest SNL sketch of her having no ethics and being a sore loser is categorized as satire but could be a documentary.

Its painfully obvious that Hillary remains in the race in order to lessen her losses. This is why she is now doing smaller venues and keeping costs low. The fact that she is essentially asking lower income people for donations to pay her debt, when she has left perhaps tens of dozens of vendors unpaid is contemptuous.

Totally irresponsible of her to run up the debt and probably let someone else take care of the debt.
Obama is not legally allowed to pay her debt and it sure would upset those, who gave to Obama
and NOT to Mrs. Clinton. Unless she has something up her sleeve?

I have no sympathy for those multi millionaires (109 times a millionaire) they disclose, while like Lieberman and other DLC traitors, they are actively engaged in wounding the anti-Corporatists by supporting John McCain and hurting the Democratic Presidential Nominee, Senator Obama.
