Hillary Clinton had quite a slip today during a campaign event in West Virginia. The Telegraph - a British paper - caught Clinton referring to the next President as a "he."

As the former First Lady met voters at three events in West Virginia, attention turned to how she could make a graceful exit from a gruelling, 17-month contest...

...Speaking to voters in the Appalachian state, she said: "All the kitchen table issues that everybody talks to me about are ones that the next president can actually do something about, if he actually cares about it." Realising her faux pas, she added: "More likely if she cares about

I think we're at a historical time in our nation's history. We're turning the page and President Obama's photo is on page 1. Go O!

This is for Gala 1:

You think McCain can lead this country.
Wouldn't you think that a leader would have to make smart strategic decisions?
Was it a smart strategic decision to attack Iraq?
Was it smart to lie about WMDs?
Was it smart to put the country four more $trillion in debt.

You say, but this was Bush, the White House Idiot, not McCain.

Then we must ask, was it smart for McCain to solicit and covet the White House Idiot's support?

The saying goes, that if you're in a hole, and can't get out, stop digging.

McCain is so soft in the head, that he wants to keep digging all those holes that the White House Idiot dug for us.

One who keeps making the same mistakes over and over--That's McCain, and that fits the description of insantity--

NO, dear, I don't think McCain can lead this country.
i think Hillary can, but you won't let her.
i think Obama is unelectable.

I think the same people who wouldn't vote for Kerry and voted in Bush for a second time are going to see Obama as someone else they flat out can't identify with.
People vote, in the end, for their self-interests.

They're going to look at McCain who, aside from being a corporate shill warmonger , is asmuch a nice guy as Ronald Reagan, and lots smarter to boot, and say, that's my vote.
i know you'd like Obama to win., But he won't .
Deal with it..

I now think of the HuffingtonPost as the last bastion of the Arugula Index.
People who know or care what arugula is are likely to vote 60-40 for Barack Arugula.
People who are the disdained fly-overs who you think have less of a vote than you do- when the fact is despite how much better you are than them, you each get exactly one- are going to vote for what they always do and always will -- Iceberg McCain.

Maybe an appropriately tortured analogy, but it's true.
And let me be the first, in advance as of today, to say to you all I told you so.

Myself,. I'm writing-in Hillary.
You are the reason I, and thousands of others you've turned off, would never vote for Obama.
You've turned into his second worst liability.

If you're not going to vote for Obama because of what posters on a website post, then I would suggest you were never going to vote for him anyway.

That is just proof that Hillary Clinton isn't quite as insane as she comes across as in her "rally the troops" speeches. If anyone who supports Clinton actually buys the line that she can still win, the joke's obviously on them. She knows full well that even if she were to get Florida and Michigan seated, she's lost too many superdelegates to win. Anyone after this point that still votes for Clinton is really just throwing their vote away...unless your motivation is pure sexism ("I just want to vote for a woman") or pure racism (vote against the darker candidate). Then, at least, it will soothe your own ego. Of course, it also makes you a sexist or racist in word AND deed.

So, even though there are still primaries, people should abandon their belief that Hillary is the best candidate?
Why are you so afraid of democracy?
Casting a vote is never wasted, that's why it's called exercising the franchise.
If we were to cast our votes based on who is most likely to win, then George McGovern would've had 0 votes.

As for the accusations of racism and sexism on the part of Hillary supporters...please keep that up. It will surely win us over to The Movement.

It is very disappointing to see that Sen. Clinton still is disparaging the presumptive Democratic nominee (". . . if he actually cares about [kitchen table issues].") . That's far more grievous than the slip, in my eyes.

The media, the DNC and the Democratic Party elite has tried to shove Obama down our throats for many months now. In spite of this, Hillary is still fighting hard to protect this country against the most deceptive and divisive candidate in modern history. Dean, Pelosi, Kennedy, Kerry and the rest of the party establishment are going to get a big surprise in November, should Obama be the Democratic nominee, when he is soundly defeated by voters crossing over to McCain from their own party. We Democrats who will not sit idly by and let this dangerous wing of the party seize control will fight on, because we love our families and our country more than the Democratic Party, which is now only a shadow of the party of hope and promise it purports to represent.

I couldn't disagree with you more. The fact that people are Democrats, and that alone, will ensure that they will vote for Obama, should he be the nominee. If they don't, they are not Democrats anyway. I am a centrist Dem, an ex-Hillary fan (I was cured last November), and I could not conceive of voting for McCain. McCain is a dangerously right-wing republican and, if you and "Dems like you" value your families and your country, as I do, then sure as hell you would not even dream of voting Republican. Heaven forbid sickness strikes in the family if McCain takes over: the Republican health plan - if you're rich you'll be fine. If you're poor, you're not worth health care anyways. Heaven forbid a new challenge arises in the Middle East, where McCain cannot seem to distinguish the different sects, several times on the trot. To hell with the planet if McCain wins - despite his genture politics he believes in burning every last drop of oil as quickly and as profitably as possible. To hell with the economy, not McCain's (by his own admission) strongest point. But mainly, I expect that you're a Hillary fan with bruised feelings. She was, after all, defeated. Add to that the fact that Obama and Hillary are virtually indistinguishable on policy (except her populist gimmickry) and your post makes no sense at all. If you'd vote McCain, you are a Republican.

hinnis -- is it possible to consider that Dean, Pelosi, Kennedy, Kerry, Obama and their ilk also love their families and love our country?

Can you fathom the notion that reasonable minds can differ. Some people like Clinton and some people like Obama. Why do the people who like Obama have to be bad dangerous people, but the Clinton supporters love their country and love their families.

This sounds like something Rush Limbaugh would say in describing the difference between Democrats and Republicans.

You people that are threatening to stay at home and not vote for Obama are not really Democrats. Democrats have stuck together for years, it's too bad that because we have a viable black candidate, that racism has reared its ugly head, and DEMS are choosing a Republican. I've seen your post before, hinnis, and it's clear that you area racist. According to your posts, Obama supporters don't love their families. I'll pray for you dear.

Sorry, I don't buy it. Obama supporters, from what I have been reading here for months, CANNOT be True Democrats.

I just won't believe it.

If I believe that, then I would have to switch to Independent immediately!
