It was only a matter of time, really. If you ever doubted that Joe Lieberman would be using what's left of his "Independent Democrat" credentials to legitimize the GOP's bogus "Hamas endorsed Obama" attack, here he is on CNN doing just that...

When Wolf Blitzer pointed out that Obama also labels Hamas a terrorist organization, making his position the same as McCain's, Lieberman said, "that's true," adding that Obama "clearly doesn't support any of the values and goals of Hamas." Then, with depressing predictability, came the inevitable caveat.

McCain and Lieberman giving credence to anything a member of Hamas says is like giving credence to Saddam when he promised us "the mother of all wars."

Do these two rely on the credibility and motives of Middle East poseurs who make statements to deceive and play us? Did Saddam's statement give Lieberman and McCain "pause" on the actual state of the US Military and its capabilities against the Iraqi military?

I don't know what is worse...to see these guys as simple-minded political cynics or two clueless, easily played nimrods.

Geeze, is Lieberman actually McCain's ugly butler or his roving cabana boy or something? First he publicly states that he's checked out McCain's "bearings" and can vouch that they're a-okay, (which is an icky visual I could really do without), and then today he's acting like he's auditioning to be McCain's comic sock puppet by implying that some dopey guy from Hamas, who says he'd like to see Obama get elected, is maybe just maybe a secret spokesperson for Barack Obama's evil Muslim twin.
The only thing sadder than lumpy Joe happily flinging McCain's prepackaged horsesh*t around like its rice at a wedding is that there are too many abject morons willing to buy into smears as dumb and half-baked as this one.

The way things are, Israel bulldozes Arab homes, denigrates Arabs in their own homeland and shoots Arab men, women, boys and girls. The US supports these terrorist actions. Arabs bomb innocent Israelis. This situation isn't going anywhere but to hell.
The ancestors of the Israelis, before the diaspora, ruled that land a long time ago. Arabs later replaced them. The Arabs should recognize a modern Jewish state to anchor that unfortunate people, however, Arabs also lost their land.
Fighting on either side won't resolve that dilemma. A much better way to resolve it might be to pay everyone off in direct payments to people, instead of paying for weapons. A bit of empowerment might go a long way. Give that money to Palestinians and Israelis instead of to war merchants. Create wealth instead of destroying wealth. The Palestinians decry the loss of their wealth and power; let's empower them and help them to build a wealthy country instead of destroying their country relentlessly. We could give property to the disenfranchised and remove the cause of conflict. Empower the powerless and give hope to the hopeless. It certainly is worth a try. If we would try half as hard, spend half the money to resolve the middle east conflict peacefully as we spend on war, I believe most people would be delighted by the results. A trillion dollars divided by the populations of Israel and Palestine would make them all rich. What would we really rather spend our money on?

Like the Shia and Sunni and all the other factions, these hatreds go back centuries. All we would be doing is upgrading their weapons of death.

Perhaps IF the Arabs STOP trying to eradicate the Jews and working to "push them into the sea" Israel might stop retaliating back everrytime some suicide bomber blows up a bus full of children or walks into a market and kills dozens of people AND THEN Israel retaliates.

I blame this entirely on the Arabs. JUST acknowledge that Israel has the right to exist and stop trying to rid the world of Jews and things will calm down.
