Obama Visits Missouri During West Virginia Primary

Sen. Barack Obama won't be in West Virginia tomorrow on Election Day. With his sights set on the general election, he'll be in Missouri.

Obama's public schedule isn't offering many details yet, but reveals he will be in Cape Girardeau, MO, on Tuesday.

Can someone please tell me if a Democrat has ever won WV in a Presidential election. Just curious what all this hoopla is all about other than Hillary using it to continue to bat Obama up.

West Virginia voted Democrat in 1976 (Carter 58% to Ford 42%), in 1992 (Clinton 43% to Bush1 (32%) and in 1996 (Clinton 52% to Dole 37%). It doesn't sound to me at all like these "numbskulls" are incapable of voting Democratic in presidential elections.

That actually accounts for the only three Presidential elections that the Democrats have won in the last 40 years.
