Obama Flag Pin

McClatchy:

Barack Obama, who labeled discussion of whether he wears a flag pin in his lapel a false issue in a debate with Hillary Clinton, was wearing one Monday as he campaigned in West Virginia ahead of Tuesday's primary vote there.

Obama made no reference to the pin, which could be clearly seen in television images and through telephoto lenses as he spoke in Charleston, W. Va., about veterans issue. There was no public comment from his campaign.

Jesus, people. Have you forgotten already that the only flag pin he wears is the one that was given to him by a war veteran? I can't remember the exact date, but he began sporadically wearing the pin after it was personally given to him by a veteran who showed up at one of his rallies.

How much do you want to bet it's that exact same pin? And that he chooses to wear it when he FEELS like it, not because it's some sort of retarded fad to do so?

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Sheesh.

Which reminds me-- the bulk of Obama's issues in West Virginia?

Dun DUN DUUUUUN! Veteran's issues.

So let's see. He's wearing a flag pin that a veteran gave him at a speech where he's talking about how America has failed her veterans, and the plans he's made to help Veterans. Sounds like a "shout out" to me, or maybe a personal choice to remember the man who gave the pin to him. Either way, there's no better time to wear a pin a veteran gave you than when you are campaigning for veterans' rights.

I'm glad to be on this board with all of you, but man, sometimes you guys are really far off the mark.

The flag pin should be worth about 20% of the Republican vote.

The Obama flag pin in W.V. is his "gasoline tax holliday". Politics as usual. It's pandering. More proof that he and his supporters hold her voters in contempt.
That is why we will continue our write-in campaign if Clinton's name is not on the ballot. We prefer the ballot box as a protest instead of threats of "rioting in the streets".

"More proof that he and his supporters hold her voters in contempt."

Wow. The earth does not revolve around Hillary Clinton or her supporters?

I am willing to bet that Barack Obama spends less time thinking about you than you do thinking about him.

I don't hold you in contempt, either, by the way. When I leave this website, I don't even think about you - or Hillary. Or Barack, for that matter, except occasionally in my sleep, when he's running shirtless across the beach, and he smiles and--

--oh er uh... as I was saying...

Chill out. You don't have to suspect that everything the Obamanator does somehow involves figuring out a way to slight you or Hillary Clinton.

Why not let your votes count FOR something? Assuming you would like to end the war, provide health care for all our citizens and help the economy, why not use your vote to support Obama as the Democratic candidate? It should be an easy choice - four more years of the same old Republican 'business as usual' or a Democrat who will move our country into the right direction. I believe that Senator Clinton has said on more than one occasion that she would support the Democratic nominee - this might be an opportunity to show your support for her by doing the same. Please consider your options carefully - if you decide to get on board you will be warmly welcomed.

Obama never said that he won't wear the pin. He said that a flag pin (which by the way is probably made in China) is a phony representation of patriotism. If a veteran gave a pin to him, why shouldn't he wear it? It's called RESPECT, something a lot of people just can't seem to understand. We have McSame, who will wear a flag pin but won't support increases in Veteran support? McSame-tortured in Vietnam but supports torture? How hypocritical can you be? People just seem to gloss over this, as it goes for all of McSame's shameless ploys.

"You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin," Obama said. "Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we're talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest."

Ooops...he DID say he wouldn't wear it.

Really? I'm glad Obama's "pandering" as you say is not going to lay off 300,000 people and cause our roads to crumble.

This back and forth with the flag pin says nothing that has merit. How does wearing an object made of some metal alloy prove or disprove a person's patriotism?

There are those that wear the flag pin simply as a piece of jewelry or as an accessory to complement their outfit. I am hoping that Obama wore his out of his own volition, not to pander or accommodate others. And if he did compromise on this issue, well it’s an issue of no importance.

Ask Obama, he's the one that said it is an indicator of false-patriotism...we didn't say it...he did. Blame Obama for making the statement to begin with. Just like every other issue, it's the stupid remarks he makes, then has to explain away, that cause this stuff. Hillary has said nothing about it...it is totally Obama's issue. Not my fault, he started it. Blame Obama. he never should have put people down if he didn't want to be asked about it.

Do you hear that you sound like a second-grader? "Not my fault, he started it."

Obama's issue? Because some woman, chosen by a network to ask a question in a debate, decided to ask him? (Of course the network probably chose her to do it because they knew it was too stupid for a journalist to ask.)

Ok, I've decided to ask you why you like poo so much that you put it in your name. There. Now poo is totally YOUR issue. Hey, you brought it up, don't blame me. It's right in your name.

Phew! I was really questioning his patriotism there for a second, what with his "fer-in" middle name and all.

Focusing on this garbage plays right into the Right's hands--throw up a lot of smoke and mirrors so nobody can see how empty and greed-filled their policies actually are.
