Obama Flag Pin

McClatchy:

Barack Obama, who labeled discussion of whether he wears a flag pin in his lapel a false issue in a debate with Hillary Clinton, was wearing one Monday as he campaigned in West Virginia ahead of Tuesday's primary vote there.

Obama made no reference to the pin, which could be clearly seen in television images and through telephoto lenses as he spoke in Charleston, W. Va., about veterans issue. There was no public comment from his campaign.

His speech was unabashedly patriotic. Of course some people will just use flag pins and e-mail smears to try to take Obama down, but he's the real American so many of us are proud to support!

The guy has no credibility on this issue, as no one really knows where he stands. His pastor and wife are obviously anti-American and he sat in that church for 20 years listening and absorbing hate speech. By the way, why would they allow their children to hear Wright? You've got to question their principles and judgment.

I question your principles and judgment actually.

No I don't. Just like I don't have to jump to a bunch of basless conclusions to form an opinion about a particular candidate.

He has already said sometimes he wears one sometimes he doesn’t . And from the speech he gave it seems to be a Memorial Day tribute to his grandfather, so I could see why he would wear one today. No big deal

And you can bet your bottom dollar that every person who accused Obama of not being patriotic when he DID NOT wear the flag pin will now be up in arms that he is just doing it for the votes.

Just watch!!

So maybe you can explain why he is suddenly wearing one?

Read the speech. It's obvious why he wore a flag pin, and apt.

He's been wearing one off and on for years as he's stated numerous times. He's speaking in front of vets, it makes sense he wore it intheir honor vs. mindlessly slapping it on for any public appearance.

So what?
He wore a flag pin a couple of weeks ago.
He wears a flag pin every now and again.
When has Hillary ever worn a flag pin?
What about all the senators that wear flag pins and voted for the Iraq war?
What about McCain - he wears a flag pin and is voting AGAINST the new GI Bill.
And where are those flag pins made? China?

The Horror!! He was talking to veterans. You wear a lapel pin that's appropriate for the occasion, not as a vanity bumper magnet.

So he was pandering to Veterans? Call it what it is, he's a politician and he was pandering.

I'd rather him pander on non-issues such as this instead of on important things (gas tax holiday, gun rights, hawkishness to woo xenophobic voters)

so what? is therre anything else obvious and irrelevant you'd like to point out?

Well, at least this was a little bit down the HuffPo politics page from where the actual content of Obama's speech was.

Still, I wonder why HuffPo felt the need to post this nothing article...

Probably because some people make such a big deal of him not wearing one and it refutes the rumor that he refuses to wear one.
