Clinton's Big Win Doesn't Really Matter

Hillary Clinton clobbered Barack Obama in West Virginia Tuesday, but her late win in a small state likely did little to slow rival Barack Obama's march toward the Democratic presidential nomination.

Clinton won the overwhelmingly white state in a walk -- by a landslide margin of 2-1, according to exit polls -- and used the results to argue that Americans shouldn't count her out yet.

"After tonight's tremendous victory here in West Virginia, it's clear that the pundits declaring this race over have it all wrong. The voters in West Virginia spoke loud and clear -- they want this contest to go on," Clinton said in a message e-mailed to supporters Tuesday evening.

"I'm going to carry the energy of tonight's victory into the next contests in Kentucky and Oregon. ...You have worked your heart out, put yourself on the line for what you believe in and given generously. And I'm not about to turn my back on you."

President Bush and many of the congressman and senators, mayors governors and many other politicians where the pin and look at what they did to this country. 4000 soldiers dead, housing industry is 80 percent in foreclosure, gas is out the roof, we are in 2 wars, no health care, no jobs, and so many more.

Hillary's claim to fame is that elderly, whites who don't have a college education support her. I guess if we are trying to cobble together a coalition of poorly educated, conservatives who vote on a racial basis, then she might be the candidate. His economic platform is HORRENDOUS. Every time he mentions a new program, he should also mention how much higher our taxes will be.

His Idea of Hope and Change is really Wealth Redistribution.

His naivete with international policy (how many gaffes has he had in the past year alone? Hahaha) and horribly green military idealism (which will get people killed), are turning away the very group that he needs in November.
He's an elite liberal, full of hubris and dreams. Dreams that we'll have to pay for, much like we've done for GWB these past eight years.

If one wants to talk about the General Election one has talk about how Obama can bring the moderates to the table.
If he can't do that, he can't win. It's that simple, end of story. He can't win a general election when he's lost so many big states in the primaries. Some of his wins can now be questioned because they occurred before the Rev. Wright controversy reared its ugly, aid infected (by the USA of course) head.

The race controversy ended both Perot's and Paul's campaign, and to the best of my knowledge there wasn't any hard evidence. it could have been a well crafted whisper campaign, I don't know because these candidates weren't on my radar.

He's got a lot of momentum, and has some great ideas. But ideas will not win an election in November against a Highly Decorated Military Veteran with extensive foreign policy experience, and a more conservative (should read less costly) economic platform. He's repulsed the far right (which is great for him, terrible for us dems), and he has broad appeal to moderates and veterans.
If people really looked at who Obama's going to face, they should be worried about yesterday's results.
This favors McCain in November. Obama must change course or else his hubris will be his undoing. Reagan Democrats view Obama as 'more of the same' extremism. Which is what we've now had for eight miserable years.
