The primary may not be over yet (officially), but the Obama campaign is seeking to staff up for the general election. Here's an email, forwarded our way by a source, that was sent out by Obama spokesperson Dan Pfeiffer, soliciting resumes for communications staff for the general:

While Barack continues to campaign hard in the upcoming primary states, we have begun collecting resumes for communications staff for the general election. Maybe the chickens shouldn't be counted before they are hatched!

The chickens are not only hatched, they're grown up and have been slaughtered and shipped to the grocery store.

Jake Tapper tracks the continuing saga of Obama Blames His Staff For Screwups:
********

Obama's Inability to Hire Good Help Rears Its Head … Again
May 12, 2008 12:28 PM

We started covering Sen. Barack Obama's inability to hire good staffers in June 2007, when he blamed staffers for some opposition research trying to link Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, to outsourcing in India; for injecting some venom in the David Geffen/Hillary Clinton fight; and for missing an event with firefighters in New Hampshire.

In December, we noted again that Obama was blaming the answers on a 1996 questionnaire on a staffer; and was blaming his touring with "cured" ex-gay gospel singer Donnie McClurkin (which antagonized gays and lesbians) on bad vetting by his staff.

Those five buck-passing incidents were apparently not enough. ...

Hahaha.

Yeah his "Inability to Hire Good Help" is why a first term senator has come from out of no where to beat the Clinton machine. Hahah.

Obviously you missed the sarcasm of the title. The Tapper piece is a light-hearted take on the Obama habit of blaming staff for every misstatement, gaffe, or embarrassment that occurs in his campaign.

Tapper has been tracking these for a while. There will be more, btw.

This, coming from a political pundit? ABC news? YOu kidding?

ABC, the all Hillary all the time network and you think they are unbiased?

At first, I was stunned at your posting, then I just started laughing!

Yeah, and this would be worthy of reading if it were not coming from the Mickey Mouse network, and if Hillary did not have people like Mark Penn working for her. This is no more relevant to what is happening than the barking of dogs.

Obama can't "hire good help"?!? How pathetic does that make the Clinton campaign look?

Plus, I'm pretty certain that ABC surrendered its right to append the word "News" to its name following that travesty of a "debate" that they put on in PA.

You sound very, very desperate to me. Why not enjoy Hillary's win tonight, get some sleep, then come out in support of Obama tomorrow?

I personally have sent in a resume to both my state and the national Obama campaigns.

Ready on Day 1 for his primary campaign.

Ready on Day 1 for his general election campaign.

I appreciate wide-eyed foresight.

YOu keep on believing that, it's ok. Obama will be your President as well as the President of all of his supporters. YOu will benefit just like the rest of us from his Presidency.

I've heard that before... where was it... Oh, that's right. They said he'd be done on Feb 5th, then Tex/Oh, then Penn, then he'd never win the nomination. Sorry if I don't put faith in your future telling abilities.

You can keep on saying that if you like. Or....you can become part of his history making campaign and the start of a turn around for the country. The choice is yours................

I remember that in 1979, during the Iranian hostage crisis there was a guy named Ayatollah Khomeini who wanted Reagan to be the president instead of Carter.
Just because Hamas prefers one over the other, doesn't prove anything.

Requirements for working on Obama's Team:

#1. No telling bold face lies.
#2. You must be able to follow rules.
#3. You must be able to count and no changing things because it doesn't work out for you.
#4. We work to earn what we get.

You could add the following to your list. I read an article somewhere where David Axelrod said "there are no assholes here" when he was trying to recruit one of the advisers early on.

Page 2: Axelrod recruiting Margolis.

“You gotta come spend a little more time with Barack,” Axelrod told him.

“You know what these things are like,” Margolis said.

“There are no assholes,” Axelrod responded. “There are going to be no assholes on this campaign.”

I think anyone of Clinton's communications people should be told a polite but firm "No thank you."

Maybe they can be referred to Congressional campaigns in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

I've found it fascinating how Obama avoided most of the traditional party consultants - right from the beginning. He has fresh, new ideas.

I was delighted when Wes Clark entered the campaign four years ago. But one mistake he made right in the beginning was allowing party consultants to advise him. And it was stultifying. Those same consultants killed what was unique and most special about Gore and Kerry.

I'm glad Obama's remained his own man. And created a new path.

I think the pre-requisite for any Obama Job must be 'You must not have served under the current Clinton ,Campaign. No whinning or circulation of false rumours and knee caping expert is welcome'
No No to anyone that has ever served under Mark Penn,Share the same thoughts and reasoning as Wolfson. No one who every easily MISPEAK is also welcome.
