Feith

Have you ever wanted someone to ask Douglas Feith real questions. You remember, Feith, the Undersecretary of Defense under Rumsfeld and architect of the Iraq War invasion? The man who wrote a bang-up PowerPoint linking al-Qaeda with Saddam Hussein? The man who Tommy Franks called "the stupidest f***ing guy on the earth?"

Well, someone interviewed Feith and actually asked probing, legitimate questions. There were even some follow up questions to boot! Of course, it wasn't a real journalist. It was Jon Stewart. And it is definitely worth a watch:

A traitor to his country, he should be tried and sent to prison for life. I'm not certain how John kept from strangling the guy.

Jon didn't want to be jailed for assault? Besides it really looks bad when you kill a guest, regardless of how repugnant that guest is.

Feith got eaten alive. It amazes me how policy makers in America can live such charmed lives and never consider how their ideas and policies effect other people on a human level. They'll say anything to justify themselves. That kind of selective dissonance should be examined by scientists.

As I said to a person who defended the administration with the argument that they used the best intelligence available at the time, hogwash! They used the worst intelligence available at the time. In fact they chose intelligence with absolutely no regard for how accurate it was. The only criteria in choosing intelligence was how well it justified the actions that they had already determined they were going to take!

They used the most CONVENIENT intelligence.

Besides... no one ever said Intelligence had to be intelligent...

Jon Stewart is amazing. The more I watch him the more I think he's just using Comedy Central as a means for saying "Oh come one... we're on Comedy Central! Get off my back! You really going to take my show serious?"

GENIUS

Likewise Colbert... it is truly astonishing that he manages night after night to tear down fools and their policies, and they love him for it. Best viewing in the world.

Agreed

Colbert does it with a completely different flair. I don't know how he's been able to keep up that persona for so long.

He completely fails - even now - to comprehend the magnitude of his actions, and the actions of the Bush administration.

Not only is he unrepentive - but seems to indicate that the only mistake made was that the communication generated by the administration was a blunder.

No acknowledgement of wrong doing, no acknowledgement of screwing up the world.

Guess he really is the stupidest fucking guy on the earth. Kudos to Stewart for managing to have a civil conversation with such an obvious criminal.

In fairness, he is "the stupidest f***ing guy on the Earth". He probably thought he was talking to Colbert.

Newscasters, reporters, and journalists should really see how the job is supposed to be done. It's kinda sad that the folks at FOX, NBC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC just got upstaged by a comedian. Applause for Jon Stewart, that's how an interview is supposed to go.

Douglas Feith should be in prison where he deserves to be.
"war is not healthy for children and other living things"
He betrayed America and humanity.
