Hillary Clinton choked up Wednesday as she told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that her daughter's presence on the campaign trail had been one of the "most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life."

"Well, it's one of the most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life, as a person and as a mother. I get very emotional," she said. "She is an exceptional person, and she's worked so hard, and she's done such a good job that I'm just filled with pride every time I look at her.

Watch the video here from CNN.

"Obama's supporters are filled with neither hate nor vitriol."

Actual quote from this thread.

Yet she has taken up months of her daughter's life and career, to validate herself as a mother in the eyes of voters. Obama's daughters make up their own minds about when to make public appearances. But then, Chelsea has been trotted out all of her life, to show the world her parents are better people than they actually are. It's depressing to watch.

There is obviously something human about Hillary when she speaks of the bonding, the pride and the emotions that is certainly a very rare insight into the woman's persona. When she sees her daughter and sees something beyond the issues of the campaign, I think that gives her strength that someone who is close and yet does not have a single indecent motive for her to get elected but sees her heart to just serve the country deserves superlatives.

I'm no Hillary fan but this is one rare occassion when I tilt my hat to her, understand and emphatize with the feeling as a mother.

May she be gracious now to see what is in her future to serve the American people in many ways and retain pride in what her daughter has done for the campaign.

I have great hopes there's still a sense of respect and dignity left in Hillary Clinton to do the right thing, not for political expediency but what the contribution of her daughter Chelsea to amplify that belief that she has not given up but just detoured plans to serve the nation.

I m sure Hillary cares very much for her daughter. Bit the timing seems extremely convenient as have the other times she has "welled up." There were many other times that would have been appropriate to actually be moved, but they did not seem to phase her then.

If the mention of Chelsea gets Hillary choked up it is obvious that Hillary is unfit for the Presidency. What if Mom is busy on the phone at 3:AM with Chelsea? Would she use call waiting? If Chelsea needed Moms sympathy, the world could be in the balance.

I am an Obama supporter...and I truly admire Clinton's tenacity and strength despite the negativity she had in this primary. I would not be disappointed if she were to get the nomination because we all are Democrats. I wish people would not giver he such a hard time..I kind of feel sorry for her.

Well--I can't read these friggin' sick and mean spirited unintelligible rants from Obama morons anymore against HIllary. Its venomous and nasty. Keep it up. Your candidate will LOSE BIG TIME THIS FALL!!!!!!! You need her constityuency-and he won't get it without her. I'm sick of all of you. You have absolutely no class and hide like 'chicken-hawk' cowards in the anonymity that cyberspace affords you. Pathetic.

I'm entirely serious here: why are some Hillary supporters still so enthusiastic about her candidacy?

She lost my vote in her sniper fire stories. Sorry, but how does anyone repeatedly "misremember" sniper fire? She either knowingly lied or she actually believes she ran across the tarmac due to sniper fire. Doesn't that trouble her supporters?

You are totally entitled to fully support whomever you want: I don't mean to deride you.
I just don't get it.

I'm with you. That was the turning point for me too. I am only sorry that I heard this story after I had already voted for her. I have been under mortar fire on a tarmac in DaNang. You do not misremember. And that was 37 years ago, not what? 12 years for her? She is either delusional or a pathological liar or both. She scares me.

"I'm entirely serious here: why are some Hillary supporters still so enthusiastic about her candidacy?"

Because we feel like it. Because we CHOOSE to be.

No ones supporters are able to claim the moral high ground around here. There are plenty of mean spirited "rants" from both remaining Dem's candidates supporters.

I understand that it is hard to accept your candidate looking at a virtually impossible nomination but please don't fail to recognize that there are plenty of nasty things coming from Hillarys supporters who hide behind the anonymity of cyberspace.

We are mean spirited, low class, chicken hawks?

I guess some one needs a formal but tough gold engraved Hallmark card inviting them to please oh pretty please with macho but kind-spirited boiler-maker guzzling gumdrops on top- oh please do come to the Obama camp.

Get over yourself- she lost- we were all for her once too.

OK, here's a thought. Many are wondering why she's still in the race, since the math is against her. Well, maybe she wants to switch careers and get into acting! This is a screen test, writ large! Hollywood, here she comes!!!

Well, this may not be my most brilliant thought, so I'm going back to work.

Good to hear she is proud of her daughter and gets choked up when thinking about the person Chelsea has turned out to be.

I hope she also gets choked up when thinking about the sons & daughters of others she sent to Iraq by casting her vote. If she ever sits down and gets choked up about that in public I would watch but until then, these "emotional episodes" of hers are getting a little old.

I hope she gets choked up for all of her psycho math learning disabled followers who she is milking for bucks to the bitter end and raising false hopes just to replenish her bank account.

Stop NOT being hateful and vitriolic! Please!

I can't stand the niceness!

Re "math learning disabled" (hyphen-disabled?), the math being hyped by the media is an idiotic sham designed for the utterly uncritical. Computing Barack's edge by way of the "superdelegate" vote--a vote which doesn't officially happen until the convention--is nothing less than jumping the gun and hoping that no one notices. And few people have. Comically, we're assured that the SDs will be basing their vote on Obama's delegate edge, which INCLUDES THE (PROJECTED) SD VOTE!!! In other words, we're to believe that the SDs are going to base their voting position on what the SDs decide to do. They're just waiting for their decision, at which point they'll base their decision on... their decision.

Right.

That's sort of like me waiting outside of a building for me to show up in a car and drive me home. Good way to save on gas, actually....

And Obama kept those men and women in Iraq by voting for every war appropriation bill that came up while he was in the Senate. If he was against the war, he'd vote against the war. But he didn't. He's a panderer and a poser and a war-monger too. He votes for the war every time.

You mean by voting to fund the soldiers who are there, in the line of fire? So they'd have body armor and stuff?

Keep posting! You make so much sense.

Fellow Democrats :

QUIT ATTACKING EACH OTHER, your infighting is the GOP's only hope and that hope grows brighter with each passing day because we are a party divided because we are alienating each other and ripping one another down, acting as if we are all lifelong enemies.

OUR GOALS ARE THE SAME! We care about ending the war in Iraq, healthcare, ending poverty, improving education etc.

Both sides of this argument sound terrible and everybody had better be glad that Obama and Hillary aren't judged based on the way their supporters behave online.

That choke-up was a lot more sincere than the one in the coffee shop. She actually kind of stopped talking (like a normal person would) and begged off for a split second when she started getting emotional about Chelsea.... that's normal. In the coffee shop she kept talking 'through the pain and tears'. That was sooooo phoney.

Ya know what? Being the mother of one son, I can honestly say that "that's a good mommy". About time she actually showed humanity. I'm from NY and I never voted for a Clinton. If she had shone that side of her, it may have been different. Unfortunately, she played a bad hand. I would have folded 'em a long time ago.

Well stated. I'm sure she is proud of the woman Chelsea grew up to be. Chelsea's a beautiful and accomplished young woman.

That said: Hillary needs to bring her nurturing, parental skills to enhance rather than divide the democratic party. She's stayed overlong: time to do the right thing for all our children and unify, so we can end this crazy Bull$hit Bushist regime.

Our nation's economic, ecological, constitutional, and spiritual perils transcend this "he said"/"she said" vitriol.

It's time to UNIFY and FIX this country before it's too late.

And that's what makes her a fighter -- someone with backbone and stamina. Something the Democratic Party hasn't seen in a while -- that's why they will keep nominating losers like Kerry and Obama, the little Momma's boy with his nutsack in Michelle's purse.

Enough with the tears. Reviewing the White House logs and the amount of time that Bill and Hillary spent traveling and engaged in politics in Arkansas chelsea spent more time with the hired help than the combined amount of time she spent with both parents.
Hillary should be concerend with her daughter's eating disorders - women who have eating disorders have a whole lot of problems with self-esteem and mental issues.
