Hillary Clinton choked up Wednesday as she told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that her daughter's presence on the campaign trail had been one of the "most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life."

"Well, it's one of the most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life, as a person and as a mother. I get very emotional," she said. "She is an exceptional person, and she's worked so hard, and she's done such a good job that I'm just filled with pride every time I look at her.

Watch the video here from CNN.

I hope you are not referring to all Obama supporters as "Obamatons," if so please just go ahead and leave the Democratic party.

Hillary, your act has grown very lame and tired.
You need to put your guns down and your hands hands up now!! You're completely surrounded and it's time for you to surrender!!

There must be a revote in Michigan and Florida. DNC was dumb to make the silly rule. They should correct that but by having a revote. Find the funds and let voters return to the polling booths to show their preference between Hillary and Obama. No other solution is right.

And a primary IS an election, my courteous friend who hates vitriol. We choose a nominee after people campaign against each other.

No, really.

For anyone criticizing the anti-Hillary remarks, you need to get over yourselves.

Hillary Clinton knows how to do one thing masterfully - control her emotions in front of crowds and cameras. I'll never forget watching her on MSNBC giving a stump speech after her brutal, and surprising loss in South Carolina - - so calm, placid, and steady-as-she-goes with a huge pasted on smile.

So on this CNN interview, she is not "a mother talking about her daughter" - - she is a politician trying to sway voters!

Honestly, for all the criticism Obama supporters have taken for being naive and swoony-eyed, you Hillary supporters have totally gotten off easy on that front.

It's politics, idiot. You think anyone would vote for someone who broke down and cried "like a WOMAN!!!" I bet Obama gets weepy when he loses too. What a jerk you are.

And no person or network or campaign convinced you of this. You came up with it on your entire, individual own.

That MSNBC and the rest have been repeating that attitude non-stop for months is a mere coincidence.

Glad to hear what "you" feel.

you obama people are such a turn off and make me sick. so what if a mother gets choked up when talking about her child? you quickly jump and say its fake and trick.

but no one should dare say anything negative about the obamas right? that would be so wrong.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:58 PM on 05/14/2008

Hillary has said many things negative about Obama. She has constantly made the case that he is weak, immature, gullible, etc.

The timing, as well as Hillary's history of getting choked-up at convenient times, is what makes this whole thing so fishy.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:03 PM on 05/14/2008

oh wow, she has said mean things about obama there fore her emotions when speaking about her daughter who is campaigning for her, are fake. thats smart.

in politics, people attack. that doesnt mean they dont have emotional feelings about their family. especially their children who are being attacked by supporters of the opponent.

Clinton was having an honest emotional moment, "as far as I know." But I do think Clinton is putting out the call for women to come to her rescue, and something we will see much more of in the next few weeks. So if you can be honest and also have a political agenda, then I would say it's was as honest as Hillary can be. I personally can talk about how proud I am of my amazing daughter without choking up. I just smile really huge.

I would also say Obama has daughters too, who may have been upset and concerned when Hillary yelled "Shame on you Barack Obama," on national television, and the other damaging things that have been said to him. Hillary is not the only parent in this campaign.

It has less to do with the idea that it might be particularly gratifying for Mrs. Clinton to have the support of her daughter, and is based, more on the observation that when the going gets tough, Mrs. Clinton either lashes out like a rabid pit bull or turns on the anti-feminist tears.

I would agree with you in this instance that Mrs. Clinton's emotion is most likely genuine, but she is called to question in these instances as a result of decades of her use emotional manipulations to gain the position she wants.

At the outset of this race for the nomination the percentage of American voters who said they would not ever vote for Mrs. Clinton was 40%. That means that only 6 out of 10 voters was ever available to her.

Apparently, you are one of those six in ten voters willing to give her a hearing, and she is lucky to have your support.

Please don't confuse the gutless muckrakers and venom spewers with "obama supporters"... Anonymous blog comments invite the lowest of the low and weakest of the weak. They are snarky, mean-spirited little boys hidden in their parent's basement somewhere and they do not represent me, or the good majority of those supporting Senator Obama. Anyone who has a child knows Hillary's emotion in that moment is genuine and is representative of her humanity. Period.

Please don't group "Obama people" together. Just as not all "Clinton people" are willing to sabotage the Democratic vote in November if Hillary is not the nominee by voting for McCain, not all Obama people are so cynical or hateful. I'll be honest, I don't like or trust Hillary Clinton. More precisely, I don't trust Bill Clinton, and he unfortunately comes with the deal. I think they are divisive and self-serving and power-hungry when it comes to politics. But I have no doubt that both of them love their daughter very much, and I thought her comments were very sweet. Clearly Chelsea seems to have turned out quite well, so would say that as a mother, she's been very successful and loves her daughter...I just don't want them back in our White House. For most of us, this is about our country and politics...what's best for us...not personal. Anyone who thinks that she doesn't love her daughter and just uses her for political gain has no ability to be objective whatsoever. That is not all, or even most Obama supporters!

Come on, guys. Lay off Hillary. What is your point with all this childish behavior over this video?
I don't see any talented writers here among the critics, either serious or humorous.
Do you think maybe she is a little human after all? No?
Then how are we going to be the "all inclusive" party?
There are a whole lot of people to make fun of out there. You know, women, blacks, cripples, etc.
Is that your point?
Is that the kind of person you want to be?
Is that the good face you plan on showing to the Republicans?

If you don't know what stupid is yet, I expect you will get plenty of learning opportunities.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:29 PM on 05/14/2008

I have no doubt Hillary is human. I also have no doubt George W. is human, but that doesn't mean I'll vote for him.

Like many here, I feel like Ms. Clinton's tearing-up today is disingenuous and calculated. Surely she has noticed the bump she's gotten in the past by getting emotional in front of the TV cameras. It's an easy way to rally her supporters, who are then free to point their angry fingers at "those cold, heartless Obama supporters."

Let's not forget something: this is campaign is for "leader of the free world". If she thinks the primary's tough, the general campaign is even tougher, and being President of the United States is tougher still. She'd better get a handle on those emotions, before she meets with any of our allies or adversaries when a crisis occurs.

I can see her standing tall with any foreign leader. I cannot imagine Obama with Putin though. HRC would stare him down. Obama will giggle and shift his weight from one leg to another like the little school boy he is.

I feel sorry for anyone who falls for this. Look at how embarrassing it was for New Hampshire when all of those dip sticks fell for her tears. All she has left is people who still think Obama is a Muslim and Women who absolutely will not let go of voting for her simply because she is a woman. Gee great company. I wouldn't be too proud of that.

Obama supporters keep pushing other democrats away with all your hate. How do your hate filled posts match up with your cries for hope and change. Do you not see the ridiculousness of your saying that's why you support Obama, at the same time you write such hate. Good luck in the general, millions support Clinton and ever time you write your garbage you convince us all over again why we will never support him in the general. You can't win without us, and the Democrats I know don't talk the way you do about other Democrats. I don't want your brand of hope and change, what a nasty bunch. I'm sure none of you could possibly be proud of your child, or get choked up when talking about them. I don't think people capable of the kind of hate I read here, could even care about anyone else. Hope and change LOL!

I don't hate Clinton or her supporters. But I do hate your "my-way-or-the-highway" attitude. I definitely don't like the frequent threats that Clinton supporters constantly throw out there, that they will sink Obama if we don't suck up to the losing candidate.

It's perfectly okay for Hillary and her supporters to do and say whatever they want and burn bridges down and make hell by threating the democratic party and every thing else. But anytime an Obama fan says anything its hate or sexist. It's a tired argument.

Mattie,
Bottom line, it's not rational to base your vote for or against a candidate on your perception (true or not) of his or her supporters. There are "nice" Obama supporters just as there are "nice" Hillary supporters. Then there are the others. There is also the fact of our own biases which turn comments we disagree with into something hateful just because we dislike them. Personally, I think Hillary has behaved atrociously during this campaign, and some of her supporters condone it; but I also understand that many of you simply do not see things this way and, so, find the hostility of Obama supporters unwarranted. I know there are many reasons people support Hillary over Obama. There's the irrational reason (I find his supporters mean) and there's the older pro-feminist vote and then there are people who rationally have issues with Obama himself (though I disagree with them). Two points. As nasty as you think some (all?) Obama supporters are, everytime I hear a poll, there are 2X as many Hillary supporters saying they wouldn't vote for Obama as Obama supporters declining to vote for Hillary (should she win). Nice or not, they would support your candidate. So, why would they do this for you Hillary supporters?
Answer: they wouldn't! (cont.)

Thus, my final point. I am sick to death of Hillary supporters who act like voting for Obama would be doing him or his supporters a favor--a favor we don't deserve! If Hillary were to steal the nomination and I voted for her, it sure as hell wouldn't be to do her or her supporters a favor! It would be because I care about the consequences of a McCain victory. But if you Hillary supporters don't, then suit yourselves. Don't vote for Obama. Good God! Just please, please just shut the f*uck up with the idea that the only reason for Hillary supporters to vote for Obama is to do him and his supporters an undeserved favor. Hell, like you Hillary supporters, I personally can survive a McCain presidency, if need be. So it's not this Obama supporter you would be "fixing real good", but the younger generations, especially women. ( Isn't it ironic just whose supposed supporter base is willing to settle for a Republican presidency?)
