Hillary Chokes Up While Discussing Chelsea On CNN

Hillary Clinton choked up Wednesday as she told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that her daughter's presence on the campaign trail had been one of the "most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life."

"Well, it's one of the most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life, as a person and as a mother. I get very emotional," she said. "She is an exceptional person, and she's worked so hard, and she's done such a good job that I'm just filled with pride every time I look at her.

I think you nailed it right on. I like Hillary a lot more when she's not campaigning for president, and I think Senator Obama ran a better campaign and beat her. It's unbelievable to me that so many would mock these tears when someone is talking about being proud of their own daughter. She has every reason to be proud, and every reason to be emotional.

It's not that I would "mock" Hillary's tear as a mother, it's just that after all her cameleon-like changes over the course of this campaign, and the strategically tearful moments she's displayed at various times, NOTHING seems beyond her capacity for using anything and everything in her arsenal to grab the hearts and minds (and fears) of voters.

SHE has brought this skepticism and disdain upon herself with her and Bill's political tactics.

Hillary is not an "elitist" (as far as we know), but *somehow* her 28 year old daughter, with virtually no credentials other than her parents' money and power, can take off 6 or more months from her $200,000 a year job to campaign for her mother. Or else she has resigned her position. Hillary OUGHT to be grateful, especially for the way Chelsea risked her own credibility to back up the sniperfire story.

Certainly her parents' name had something to do with her getting the job, but she does hold an undergraduate degree from Stanford and a Master's from Oxford. I wouldn't say that she lacked credentials for the job.

Meanwhile, though, all three of these candidates have taken off roughly 15 months from their day jobs.
