Conyers On Rove: "We'll Hold Him In Contempt"

Just off the House floor today, the Crypt overheard House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers tell two other people: "We're closing in on Rove. Someone's got to kick his ass."

Asked a few minutes later for a more official explanation, Conyers told us that Rove has a week to appear before his committee. If he doesn't, said Conyers, "We'll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We'd hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested."

A message to Charman Conyers:

Can this be done without the cooperation of the highly political in the back pocket of the administration Department of Justice? If so please get on with it already before Speaker Palosi ground you like she did when putting the brakes on you from launching the impeachment hearings. I'll tell you this. If you do drag Rove on live TV in hand cuffs for crimes against the nation and for showing contempt against the people's house, this nation will experience a surge of pride in the system like has never been seen before!

Whether it's Democrats or Republicans, we all need to get involved at the grass roots level.

Voting in November is not where the real power is at. Everyone needs to be educated that it's the local delegates who elect who the party is going to run on the ballot. The local delegates are deciding who you get to vote for.

If you don't like the incumbent, you need to start showing up at caucuses. Get involved with your party on the grass roots level to get that incumbent off the ballot.

Even if you are not able to become a delegate, you should at least find out who your local delegates are by showing up to caucuses. You can bug them about putting a spineless incumbent back in power. I'm not recommending third parties because if you've seen "Orwell Rolls in his Grave" you understand Michael Powell (Colin Powell's son) got rid of equal access laws to the media when he was in office. This means a candidate can not get his message out with out a lot of money.

When Obama becomes the Presdident, people will actually start ascending to important positions based on objective qualifications! If crookery is the test for determining who should be out of the Congressman, John Conyers will still be there while few Republican will remain. How many Republicans have been indicted or convicted for crimes within the last two years alone? I will be amazed if Congressman Conyers actually grows a pair and takes some action. He has been inundated with e-mails, letters and phone calls from millions of American voters to begin impeachment hearings for Dick Cheney including from his oewn committee members but has done nothing. The administration must have something on Conyers because he is not going to do anything to anybody. He is a wimp as is most of Congress.
