Utterly insane goings-on tonight on Hardball, where, for the second night in a row, the "Hardball Sideshow" segment was preceded by a scene that way outfreaked it. Tonight, host Chris Matthews took up President Bush's pointed attack on the Democrats in the Knesset today, asking if Bush was "out of line." Radio talk-show host Kevin James didn't think so, saying - and I'm paraphrasing - "RRRRAAAAAHHHH! OBAMA BLAAAAHHHH! HAMAS LOVES BARACK, YAAAAHHHH!" Chris Matthews was quick to ask, "Why are you screaming?"

But the best was yet to come. Matthews, convinced that James was being a fatuous ass, called him out on his knowledge of geo-political history, asking James if he knew what Neville Chamberlain did at Munich in 1938. If you answered, "He signed the Munich Agreement, conceding a portion of Czechoslovakia to the Nazi regime," you are right. If you answered, "He talked to Hitler, and caused 9/11 to happen and made the Statue of Liberty cry, just like Barack Hussein bin Laden wants to!" then you are Kevin James.

The ensuing melee is just far to shouty and unhinged to transcribe. Basically it ran like this, over and over again:

MATTHEWS: WHAT DID NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN DO? WHAT DID HE DO? YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT HE DID, DO YOU?

JAMES: WUBBA WUBBA HUH?

Until finally, James conceded, sort of, that he didn't know. Matthews replied: "Your problem, is, Kevin, you don't know what you're talking about. You don't understand there's a difference between talking to the enemy and appeasing. What Chamberlain did wrong was not talking to Hitler, but giving half of Czechoslovakia." He then growled, "This is pathetic," tossed it to Air America's Mark Green, who told James, "Kevin, when you're in a hole, stop digging."

Watch the video:

You sort of have to love the way he worked in a shot at Dana Perino there at the end. Anyway, as a famous newsman once said: "F*** it! We're doing it live!"

"RRRRAAAAAHHHH! OBAMA BLAAAAHHHH! HAMAS LOVES BARACK, YAAAAHHHH!"

This is classic! I read this article a few days ago, but came back to it again today because I needed a laugh. Honestly, the way you summarized Kevin James, not knowing what the heck he was talking about is EXACTLY how I would have described it. I swear, it brings tears of laughter to my eyes every time I read it. Jason, you are good. And one thing I really like about you, is that you are not afraid to use hip-hop references, and you always use them accurately, you never come off corney or trying to hard. Keep up the good work.
"RRRRAAAAAHHHH! OBAMA BLAAAAHHHH! HAMAS LOVES BARACK, YAAAAHHHH!" This was soooo funny!!!

When Hannity, Limbaugh or O'Reilley insist on a straight answer from a liberal guest, it is called badgering and an unforgivable journalistic faux pas.

When Matthews does it, it is courageous and praisworthy "evisceration".

GO FIGURE!

First, this never gets old. Funny, funny, funny,. When Kevin started he was shouting and getting a chance to talk all kinds of stupid stuff about Obama...then it all went downhill from that. Ok, I'm only going to watch it one more time. WHAT DID HE DO? WHAT DID HE DO? lol

So does Kevin James still have his own show? Something tells me he'll soon be standing outside with his nose pressed up against the glass begging to be let back in along side Michelle "Anchor Baby" Malkin.

Will he still have a show? Are you serious? Read the post from "Yukon Jack" three comments up from yours, Tommygun -- there are plenty more where he comes from. Heck - the dittohead brigades will probably invite James to be their guest of honor at this year's DittoFest. These guys (James, Limbaugh, Hannity, et al.) confirm their embrace of the old admonition issued to young lawyers starting out: "When you have the law on your side, argue the law. When you have the facts on your side, argue the facts. When you have neither, take off your shoe and pound on the table!" In James' case, however, he moved right past pounding the table to shoving the shoe in his mouth -- with his foot still in it.

Mathews did, however, let him get away with citing "Pathway to 9/11", a fictional propaganda film that has been thoroughly debunked, as a source. Specifically, for how Clinton allegedly let 9/11 happen by "appeasing" the terrorists. Clark's "Against all Enemies" that Green cites, while perhaps not squeaky clean of a political agenda, is mostly accurate, referenced and corroborated by independent sources.

Repubican fools! thanks for $4 a gallon gasoline !
and thanks for breaking our Nation's economy!

Thank for the $4 a gallon gasoline those who oppose:

Drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico.
Drilling for oil in ANWAR.
Drilling for oil anywhere in America.
Building windfarms at Cape Cod.
Building new refineries, dams and nuclear generators anywhere.
Legislate to make ethanol from food, thereby making the price of both food and gas higher.

They are the same people who break the back of thousands of small businesses by imposing unreasonable minimum wage and even more unreasonable taxes.

Who are these people, you ask?

Why, it is the DEMOCRAT FOOLS and their acolytes like you.

It's difficult to believe that nitwit neocons still believe they can shout the american voting populus into submissive obedience. Thank God these people don't think these things through.

Slope,
It's not that difficult to believe. Voters in Pennslyvania are still asking why Obama doesn't wear a flag pin. The average American voter is a moron.

Watching this is NEVER going to get old!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:36 AM on 05/19/2008

This is why I LOVE HARDBALL and Chris Matthews!!!! If you can't take the heat, don't go on the show!!

I was watching this show the day this happened, and I had NO IDEA it would turn out the way it did --- or that it would be replayed a ga-zillion times on TV.

It was THE BEST 'Hardball' show I've ever seen!!!!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:02 AM on 05/19/2008

"If you can't take the heat, don't go on the show!!"

I guess that is the reason Obama never had the guts to appear on the O'Reilley Factor. And took him almost 800 days (that is WELL OVER TWO years, for mathematically challenged Democrats) to appear on FOX NEWS SUNDAY after the original invitation. Or the fact that these brave and courageous Democrat president wannabees never had the guts to appear for a debate moderated by a fair and balanced moderator. And that is the reason that when former Clinton aid Stephanopolous asked some tough questions of MESSIAH OBAMA, all the left-wing media declared him to be sleazy and dishonest.

Don't get me wrong, I DO like Matthews.

This is why the show is called Hardball. The GOP might want to pick someone with a brain next time, unlike their pick we now have sitting in the WH. Ya know the guy who really doesn't know history either and loves to tell folks that he doesn't read either.

Kevin James is from the old Scots-Irish school of diplomacy. Fight first, then talk.

Kudos to Chris Mathews. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while. lol

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:08 PM on 05/18/2008

Unfortunately, the day after, Matthews claimed that James was a 'good guy, and will be back on the show'.

It's not like he needs to suck up to this guy or anything. The guy is obviously not good people and why would you want him back on your show?

Because Kevin James provided Good Entertainment value... This was hilarious. It was like watching an I Love Lucy episode with Lucy explaining to Ricky how she is Fred's mother.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:45 AM on 05/19/2008

And that is all it is. No insight, nothing beyond the 'conventional wisdom. Just "good entertainment.'

With next to nothing to do with real news.

Well, does GE own or have financial interest in the station which employs Mr. James?

While it is an added bonus that Keven James is a reactionary nutball, a more important benefit of Mathews letting James throw himself to the mat very hard over and over again until James was out in the cold is that James illustrates for all to see what passes muster in professional education today.

A surprising (at least to me) number of today's on-air gasbags have gone through law school although not all passed a state bar exam. IMO law school has been degraded to the level where about anyone with the money who resented the way they were treated on the playground in elementary school can pass through and spend the rest of their lives with social and professional deference that is almost as ridiculously undeserved as the medical community gets.

That fellow Abrams took Coulter down hard on television a year, maybe two or so, ago. Gladdens the heart. I am very tired of these chatterboxes giving professional respect to people and ideas that do not deserve respect.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:39 PM on 05/18/2008

Abrams and his MSNBC cronies are extremely apt at bad-mouthing and insulting people that they, themselves could not hold a candle to, behind their backs.

What irks them is that they are - justifibly - totally ignored by the targets of their venom.

And what irks them even more is the fact that they are ALWAYS dead last in the TV ratings, be it the target group or the total viewers.

At our Site a visitor posted that he thought it was hypocritical of me to suggest that James be fired, since we have invited and pointed people to James' advertisers in order to sound off but are proponents of free speech.

We never suggested any such thing.

We don't think any one should be silenced ... we do though feel strongly that they, you, we, me - should be accountable for what we say.

This guy James is s former Asst. US District Attorney turned propagandist taking his talking points from very anti-American sources.

We're not done with him or his ilk by a long shot.

We consider it terrorism on US soil.

This is exactly the "knowledge" all those screaming right wing nuts have. Lucky for them, nobody ever challenges them. If heavy set Limbaugh, or Mr. Ann Coulter were challenged, we would see similar videos.
That's why education is the last priority for the Repugs. As long as they keep people uneducated, and misinformed, they will keep running and destroying the country until eternity.
Kudos to Chris Matthews.
