Mccain Unfit

Remember McCain's respectful campaign? He doesn't.

McCain has all but declared a President Obama would be unfit to defend the United States from -- as he puts it -- the transcendent challenge of our time (or in this case, a second-tier regional power). During a blogger conference call, McCain was asked about Obama's willingness to engage in diplomacy with Iran. He responded:

All I can say is: If Senator Obama wants to sit down across the table from the leader of a country that calls Israel a stinking corpse, and comes to New York and says they're gonna, quote, "wipe Israel off the map," what is it that he wants to talk about? What is it that he wants to talk about with him?

And the belief that somehow communications and positions and willingness to sit down and have serious negotiations need to be done in a face to face fashion as Senator Obama wants to do, which then enhances the prestige of a nation that's a sponsor of terrorists and is directly responsible for the deaths of brave young Americans, I think is an unacceptable position, and shows that Senator Obama does not have the knowledge, the experience, the background to make the kind of judgments that are necessary to preserve this nation's security.

The remarks come after this morning's round of attacks from Bush and McCain against Obama, comparing him to Nazi appeasers in the 1930s.

So, in conclusion, Obama is equal parts Neville Chamberlain and President to Hamas. And John McCain is a respectable maverick.

An interesting side effect of Bush's comments yesterday is that it removed Hillary Clinton completely from all discussions. I have been watching the MSNBC machine all day and they havent mentioned her once except to ask her what she thought of W's comments. It is SO on!

I think MSM has finally realized that as much ratings-boosting fun they had with the primary circus, the debate about NOTHING, the GE Circus will be far more interesting and polarizing. It will be interesting to see how they cover it from here out. Hopefully Obama message of unity will capture the nation.

For 50 years the Soviet Union threatened to wipe us off the map and frequently took the world's largest standing army on maneuvers threatening Europe. We NEVER stopped talking to them.

Why is the current crop of dictators so much worse?

Look how well not talking to Castro has worked.

Heck-of-job Johnny!

The trolls are out in force today.
Once again John McCain shows an unbelievable lack of nuance. America is sick of hamfisted, thuggish policy driven by stereotypes, racism and ignorance.
No one is disputing that Iran is a regional risk, but to abandon all subtlety and merely sabre rattle from distance makes America more destablising.

Speaking of unfit........McCain has not released his medical records hmmmmm.

Cindy has not released her tax returns.........

We already have a President whose stupidity spews from his mouth we don't need another (McCain) who swears and loses his temper so easily.

Obviously, the GOP is unfit to run our government........look at the state we're in now! What a mess they will leave for Obama.

Obama is the most mentally, morally and physically fit candidate ever!!!!!!

POLITICS 101 FOR OBAMA SUPPORTERS: FIRST: Obama wins the nomination without winning the popular vote, and based upon early unrepresentative causes wins. SECOND: As polls show, at least 28% of Hillary supporters refuse to vote for Obama, and many instead vote for McCain. THIRD: This leaves Obama with the AA, the teenyboppers, and the party elite. FOURTH: The Republican Party is energized by the prospect of running against an inexperienced, deceptive and divisive politician, with a list of shady associations longer than a football field. FIFTH: With much ammunition, the 527s pepper the airwaves with Obama's gaffes, Rev. Wright, William "the bomb" Ayers, black liberation theology, the most liberal member of the Senate, Bittergate, etc. SIXTH: The night before the election, the Obama teenyboppers have mass celebratory keg parties all over the country, get too drunk, and are unable to vote in the election the next day. SEVENTH: Obama is defeated and John McCain takes the oath of office in front of millions of cheering Republicans and Democrats. EIGHTH: Patriotic and savvy observers around the country breathe a collective sigh of relief in realization of how narrowly they had adverted disaster. NINTH: Many Obama supporters have to attend 12-step programs in an effort to wean themselves off of their addiction to responding to all criticism with attacks, insults, and race cards.

And then when McGramps decides to invade Iran and Congress has to bring back the draft because we don't have a large enough military because we are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, I hope all you YOUNG, ABLE-BODIED REPUBLICANS, men and women, get in line to serve and fight for your Country - no running over the border to Canada or Mexico; no claims of being a conscientious objector - just go and fight.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR - you may get more than you bargained for.

Awww, hinnis is just a cute old curmudgeon with a taste for satire. Let him have his fun.

Meanwhile, we'll work for big changes-- and not just in the presidential election. Neither O or HRC were my first choice, but we'll go with reality. Likely O.
The alternative is far too frightening to contemplate-- Mc Cain's just plain off the rails.

I'd vote for an intelligent guy like OBAMA 1000 times over a dummy like Bush or clueless McCain. McCain may be military hero, it doesn't make him the right candidate for Presidency. The guy is clueless about the economy, doesnt realized that somehow it's also linked to the war. Or he may know but doesn't care since he and his wife are living a confortable life. Al he know is "bring it on" like his twin Bush. Some Americans know better than that. A vote for McCain is a vote for deeper disaster.

Enough already as McShame as a military hero. He was a careerist who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He spent more time with the Commies than Obama spent with Rev. Wright. And, he gave into their persuasion by signing a statement that he was involved in war crimes. Where is the hero in this? A pathetic figure at best.

The real shame here is that if McCain had been the nominee in 2000, our country would not be in the trouble it is in. However, he's gone so far to the other side, completely pandering to the right, that he's no longer the right candidate, nor is he fit to be president.

I wasn't for Obama originally, but I sure as shit am now.

tweedledum (Bush) and tweedledee (McSame) - separated at birth. This is why there should be an age limit and Idiot test on Presidential candidates - they do not just embarrass themselves: They are making America look stupid!

When talking about Iran -- a sovereign nation as opposed to a terrorist organization like Al Qaeda -- there would seem to be 3 options:

1) Diplomacy
2) Avoidance/isolation
3) War

If anyone knows of another option, please let me know. Avoidance hasn't seemed to have made much progress yet -- so I'm highly skeptical of it usefulness in the future. We can't afford another war -- if we deploy combat troops anywhere else in the world, 18 year old kids are going to start getting drafted into service and the economy will sink farther into the toilet. That leaves some sort of diplomacy. It doesn't have to be bi-lateral talks (or even involve the President directly), hold them with representatives of the EU as well.

I certainly don't know if it would work or not, but not doing anything is a guaranteed failure. And if nothing else, demonstrating that we're willing to talk to countries we disagree with would be a pleasant shock to the rest of the world and may help with our reputation under W.

I agree they are sovereign people, except for that little short idiot coward and his hinchmen. I say guided bombs at all government buildings, and nuke sights. Then let the good people of Iran take over their country and get the aid they deserve from the world, they are good people under as much opression as the Iraqi people, the Iraqi people are good people without the little Hitler clone running the show now that Saddam is gone.

Just because Sen. McCain was a war veteran does not qualify him to be President. Let's don't forget that.......
McCain is a contemptible, a smearer, snactimous, lying, old hypocrite. I thought Hillary could lie, but McCain beats her. Both senators Obama and even Hillary (with some reservations) are more than qualified to be president than he is !!!!!!!!!!! He is old and forgetful. Do we want him making decisions for the American people on the war.....
He is trying hard to use his veteran's experience to dupe the public - don't gorget that he got help from his Dad who was a high-level official in the Army - that's why he got so far in his career !!!!
All you voters who would rather vote for him over Obama, or Hillary (if your person does not get the nomination) better think again. Shame on you!!!
Let the American people know that if they vote for Sen. McCain, we will surely be tormented for another 4-8 years of the Bush policy that destroyed America these 7 1/2 years.. America needs jobs for its people....and improved medical care for all . If we have jobs, half the battle is won.

To this same point; I am more worried about the economy (jobs, salaries...), gas prices, and healthcare than I am worried about Iran. I am not willing to endure one day of another republican president that wants to focus on bully tactics. WE are at the mercy of the middle eastern countries right now, because of our dependance on their oil.

Democrats have to come together so that we can keep the focus on strengthen US policies and infrastructure this election season. We should not be talking about Iran.

Hillary said basically the same thing a month or so ago. She and McCain have both run despicable campaigns. Obama stands head and shoulders above both of them just on the basis of not getting personal, not getting into gutter politics, not pandering for votes. McCain is looking completely senile these days. He can't tell a Sunni from a Shia, what kind of foreign policy would THAT represent?
