Waxman

Two big representative endorsements for Barack Obama today: Rep. Henry Waxman and Rep. Howard Berman. It brings today's number of superdelegate endorsements up to 4.

"Senator Obama's vision for change has inspired tens of millions of Americans," Chairman Waxman said. "And he's also proved that he has the experience, judgment, integrity, and toughness to bring real reform to Washington. Our nation faces big challenges. We need to bring our troops safely home from Iraq. We need to solve global warming and finally enact universal health care legislation. And we need to create new jobs and strengthen our middle class. Senator Obama is the leader we need both here and around the world. He will be an extraordinary President, and I look forward to working with him to make his vision for change the new reality in Washington."

"Barack Obama has laid out a foreign policy vision driven by principle and conviction, and he understands that our moral authority and our safety as a nation go hand in hand," Chairman Berman said. "I spoke with him about a number of foreign policy issues that most concern me. He assured me that he shares my views. The moment President Obama takes office, we'll send a powerful message to the world that America is back and ready to lead again--that we haven't abandoned the values that made us the light of the world, and neither should anyone else."

Thank you Henry!

You political climatically achieved and satisfied Obamaites that are convinced of his ultimate successful nomination and resounding successful November victory should consider that merely a 12% of reliable democratic party members have thus far voted and only 9% of republicans! In addition only 55% of those that have voted were white! Approximately 35 million Americans have cast ballots thus far and 350 million democrats and republican including independents are expected to cast a ballot in November! This leaves a net difference of anticipated voters for November at at circa 310 million with a slight favorable % democratic tilt! The numbers of the Obamaites phytra [a small conclave of the tribe] is approximately 20% of these potential voters! calculate you chances of success?

The US population, including children, is only about 301 million. How are there going to be 350 million voters exactly?

Wow. I just sent Howard Berman an e-mail two days ago (he's my congressman - who knew he would pay attention! LOL. THIS IS A GLORIOUS DAY!
Welcome welcome Hillary people. I am a white female boomer and have been working with the Obama campaign for over a year - we are a diverse coalition - we are not all young or black or "elititst" (good grief!). I realize some of you believe Hillary did not get a fair shake. When all of this began, I felt she did indeed have it wrapped up. AND SHE DID. The media was in her lap - they did not even take Obama seriously. The Clintons made quite a few mistakes and most of them were by hiring cronies (shades of Bush) rather than experts (David Axelrod) to run their campaign. Hillary is brilliant and it would be great if she would take over the Harry Reid position. And Edwards for AG!! Let's UNITE and make the war criminlas accountable!
Here's to the new and truly "United" States of America!!

They recognize principle and ethics in Obama, qualities of which Hillary has none.

This is excellent news, but the Clinton camp will just dismiss it as too little too late, or undemocratic ("Lets let the voters decide." as if they haven't already). When will this end? What will it take?

One thing it might take is a more gracious attitude from Obama supporters. You won. Give it a rest.

It's been a couple of days since she pulled any dirty politicking tricks on Obama. I think I can be gracious, if that stuff is really over.

oh, he has a problem with women ... roll out NARAL
oh, he has a problem with blue-collar workers .... roll out Edwards
oh, he has a problem with Jews ... roll out Waxman and Berman

The strategic precision planning of this campaign is the most impressive thing I've seen in a long time

Kellygrrrl, I totally agree.

Top notch work by Sen. Obama's campaign. Of course, it's easier to make correct decisions when your candidate is principled and forthright. Still, the political strategy has been great, as has their damage control.

Did you see the Kentucky Flier that concerns his faith and has him pictured in front of a cross?

Another gorgeous piece of campaigning I think, and very gutsy after the Wright debacle.
It sends the message that he won't run from his Christianity even though religion has been a problem for him in this campaign.

I agree. We need t call a truce. I am pissed off as hell at Hill but this is a traumatic time for her. Put yourself in her shoes. She really needs time to come to grips with her lost. I do wish he wuld talk to Al Gore, but as long as she stays in denial she is going to prolong the inevitable and it is going to be more painful.

If she were in Obama's position, she'd be screaming bloody murder to be treated like that.

It seems everyone forgets that Clinton is aiming to destroy Obama no matter what. So why should she stop now? Despite the train already left the station, Clinton and her surrogates are busy looking for ways to cook the numbers but I suggest to them the best way is just add up all the numbers where she had won AND lost: popular votes, pledged delegates, superdelegates, numbers of states then declare CLINTON HAS WON AGAINST HERSELF! She already declared the most popular votes by adding MI where Obama has 0 vote! Forget her spin about every vote counts: no vote for Obama is counted, no state he won is counted, no popular vote for him is counted, voters in caucused states are of course worthless. There: Clinton won! She won against her own ghost!
It's so pathetic to watch how the Clintons and the media shamelessly trumped up her win in W V, while forgetting that Obama had won many states with such high margin: Alaska: O 75%, C 25%, DC: O 75%, C 24%, Kansas: O 74%, C 26% and he won by a margin of 15-35% in other states, not just 10% as Clinton's wins. That is why he won the nomination by any standard! But of course, the Clintons don't count those! The Clintons are above the party.

With Obama picking up four more endorsements including Waxman and Berman, it is just a few days Ms Prissy Pants Suit will be forced to shut her pie hole! She is a very vicious and vindictive person and would make a horrible president and fortunatley she won't get that chance.
