Edwards: "I Have No Interest" In Vice Presidency

On his way into an award ceremony in New York City on Thursday, John Edwards took a few questions from reporters about his endorsement of Senator Barack Obama the day before.

Mr. Edwards, the one-time contender for the 2008 Democratic nomination and Senator John Kerry's running mate in 2004, responded to speculation about a potential role in an Obama administration, saying, "I have no interest in running as vice president." But asked about serving as attorney general, he responded: "Oh, I don't have any thoughts about any of that."

John would do MARVELOUSLY in AG and Richardson, well perhaps back to the UN but Bill Clinton has wlways wated that spot , aiming for UN chief spot and Biden, GOd love the man..yeah, SEC OF STATE or perhap even bring back Colin as long he is NOT of his military mindset that causes him to be loyal to COMMANDER rather than NATION FIRST/FOREMOST...perhaps Colin would take over DEFENSE , let Biden do Sof State duties....

Obama/Edwards is a good ticket in terms of geography (south) and domestic policy (health care and K-Street), but lacks foreign policy appeal (experience) - the later is a critical missing link and would leave them vulnerable to McCain's strength.

uh...starteled me...McCains perceived as YET having an actual STRENGTH ? He has flipped and flopped on SO MANY ISSUES and zigged and zagged when attempting that so called straight talking nonsense he gets falsely credited with as well as the fale honorific of being some kind of maverick....McC served "honorably " while in uniform, but he has overplayed THAT as PROOF of his ACTUAL abilities folks and time is NOW to realize that !!! You can honor and thank him for his military duty..but do NOT mistakenly equate that with him having ability to LEAD THE NATION at this particular time !!! Need so TRAIGHT HONEST TALK, get over the spin of that McC bus...they do need their bearings checked out ..those balls are rather worn !!!!

Maybe he could do some good heading a special task force or maybe even a position in the Labor Department (or HUD), but I'm praying he doesn't get a place in the cabinet. He brings nothing to the table as VP and he has no qualifications to be Attorney General.

I saw Edwards and Obama in Grand Rapids two days ago. They were magical together. Many of us in the crowd were yelling VP and I was hoping that they would run together. I hope John Edwards has a change of heart. If not, I hope there is a role for him in an Obama administration. Edwards is a wonderful man who clearly cares about the working poor and middle class. Obama clearly cares about all Americans and creating a situation where there is fairness in our society. These two together are the pair. Clinton with Obama is not a good match. (no offense) She does not compliment him at all. Obama with Edwards could really turn this country around for the little person and restore integrity to the office of President of the United States.
