There is a huge difference between a write's error or a slip of the tongue and not having a clue what you are talking about, don't you agree? If she had been pressed for 5 minutes to correct her statement but couldn't, then we can compare the two scenes. I would certainly bet that she knows the difference between the 7th and the 17th POTUS and could speak intelligently about both.

It's sad that guys like Colbert, Stewart, and Olbermann can only be proud of their careers to the extent that they were able to copy and/or parody someone else who is more successful. To put this in perspective, think back to the State of the Union address the Big Dog gave. It wasn't revealed until after the speech his teleprompter was nonfunctional. The man just gave the speech part from memory, part ad lib (if I remember correctly) and smooth enough that no one suspected there was a problem.
