Obama would make a much better president than McCain, not because of his age but because of his leadership and ideas.

Insulting McCain because of his age is not much better than insulting Obama because of his race or Clinton because of her gender.

There are legitimate questions linked to McCain's health but poking fun at someone because they are old is ludicrous and runs absolutely opposite to Obama's new politics.

I don't care if he is 42, 72 or 102. I don't care if he is handsome or not. All I care about is whether or not he is fit to be a good president, which clearly he is not. But is it necessary to stoop so low to insult this guy? Isn't it enough to just go on his record and give him the boot? Do we have to put him down as if being 72 is such a bad thing? I wouldn't mind a little wisdom that sometimes comes with age. Sadly, he has none. But it also makes me sad that this is the best thing we can find to pick on him for. I am just as tired about hearing about McCain's age as I am about hearing about flag pins.

This is stupid. Democrats should not make fun of his age. There are a billion and one actual ISSUES to take him down with, why resort to this level of childishness that just makes us look bad? It is counter productive. Are we trying to piss of older Americans? There is already a bit of a generational rift in the Party, and older voters are a strong voting group, do you really want to piss them off and push them over to McCain? You know what. This is just the kind of thing that made me hope he would decide not to run. I have never voted for a repube my whole life. But I have always admired McCain because he had no problem sticking a pencil in Bush's eye at every opportunity. I may not have liked him, but at least I respected him. Then came the photo of him and Chimpy...that famous hug. Well....just as I decried racial attacks against Obama and sexist attacks against Clinton, I think we should try to limit "ageist" attacks against McCain. There are many, many people his age who are in great shape, both physically and mentally, and would probably be able to carry on as President. Unfortunately, he is not one of them. I am going to try my best though, to limit my attacks on his policies, not his age. I don't want him humiliated....just defeated.
