Politico:

Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign is increasingly aiming its punches not at her front-running opponent Barack Obama, but at the media.

On the campaign trail, in a new ad and in her meetings with donors and superdelegates, she blasts the D.C. punditocracy for counting her out and urges anyone who'll listen to ignore the hardening storyline that places Obama as the Democratic presidential nominee.

Hillary's problems with math and Democratic party rules remind me of the pre-Iraq invasion remarks from an anonymous Bush advisor, i.e., "we're an empire and empires create their own realities."

Call Obama for America @ 866-675-2008 and let them know you don't want Hillary Huckabee on the Obama ticket.

The blame game. Team Hillary made huge errors leading to their loss to a superior candidate. Period.

I'm so tired of this Hillary math.

She never counts the caucus states, she always counts disqualified Michigan and Florida.

Her math education is apparently on a par with the intelligence of her core backers: the slack-jawed knuckle draggers of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Waste Virginia.

That was not necessary! Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia are full of people with the same aspirations as people in the rest of the country. Visit those states, yoou'll find very few slack-jawed knuckle draggers. That many people there have voted for Hillary only shows how effective her slime strategy has been. Had she started with that, instead of assuming she'd be crowned...er, elected...she'd probably be the front runner now.

Thank God, she's not!

consider the facts.

much fewer people voted in caucuses than in primaries. and the three states that had both primaries and caucuses (TX, WA, and Nebraska) clearly show that the caucuses do not reflect the same numbers as the caucuses. In TX for example, Hillary won the primary by more than 100,000 votes and approximately 2 million people voted. Only about 50,000 people voted in the TX caucus and Obama won it by about 53% to 47%.

more people turned out in FL and MI than had ever turned out in any primary. Even if you don't count their delegates, you have to acknowledge that nearly 900,000 DEMS voted for Hillary in FL (and Obama spent $3 million in ads that were aired in FL in the three weeks preceding the primary due to a 'national' ad buy; he had just blown her out in SC the previous Sat and Ted and Caroline Kennedy came out for Obama the Monday before the FL primary -- all resulting in non-stop pro-Obama media attention in the days before the FL primary). And in MI there was a concerted effort by Obama and Edwards asking their supporters to vote 'uncommitted' and she still won.

Those bitter, slack-jawed, knuckle draggers in OH, PA and WVA can be the difference between a DEM win in Nov and a loss to McCain.

Obama will pick up more and more voters the closer we get to election day. It happened during the primaries and it will happen again in the GE. Obama will win decisively in November.

The article in Politico quotes a Clinton ad in Oregon: "Their voices are muted, and a narrator intones over their images: “In Washington [D.C.], they talk about who's up and who's down. In Oregon, we care about what's right and what's wrong.” The ad apparently goes on to point out how right Hillary is.

Well, she's right in one thing--people in Oregon do care about what's right and what's wrong. They're going to vote overwhelmingly for Obama, just as we did here in the state of Washington.

No, the problem Cyndee1113, is Obama after all that rhetoric, still went to Rev. Wright's church and listened to that tripe for 20 years, so his claims at the end of the book about finding himself, going to Harvard, all ring false.
Clinton and McCain's supporters know well their candidate's flaws. Obama's supporters will not hear a single word against their flawless god (much like the early Bush supporters) , despite evidence that he is flawed, makes many mistakes, is politically savvy, and often has bad judgment.
I don't see Clinton and McCains supporters resort to name calling near as much as I do Obama's (such as you. I leveled no attack on any Obama supporter and certainly did not resort to name calling).
Many in the African Jewish community heard of his connection to Wright and other anti-Semites in our synagogues months before the media finally responded to it.
Do I think Obama is an anti-Semite? No, but I think he lacked good judgment in never having stood up in 20 years to the racist propaganda of his mentor and I think he did it for political advancement and that's hardly a moral compliment.
Yet, he calls out Clinton & McCain for bad judgment.
This doesn't seem to me a new era of change, only a slicker and more manipulative one.

Clearly you never actually listened to the sermons but I won't get into that. The fact is that Jerry Falwell said the same thing years ago and all the evangelicals that followed him nodded in agreement. The press said nothing. And the 'chickens coming home to roost' stuff was a quote from Ambassador Peck, a 30 yr diplomat on an interiew with FOX news, which Wright explains in the sermon. But don't you think if he had been saying such things for 20 years you would have seen a lot more clips by now? FOX, ABC and others have been scouring the tapes relentlessly for some time now. I think there are people out there who better pray that there isn't a God, because if there is, I can't imagine the Almighty was pleased to see one of his most respected preachers who has been ministering to his flock and doing God's work by helping the poor for 36 years being swiftboated for someone's political gain. I'm just sayin'.

What is your problem? Compared to McCain and Clinton, Obama is VERY MINOR but that's not good enough is it? Moral Judgement!?! Yeah, he's called out Hillary and McCain for their war vote.
But, you're not gonna listen are you? Fine, Hold your breath and stomp you feet, you're still not getting what you want. Obama won, if you don't like him then don't vote for him, simple enough for even you.

LOL Obviously you still believe that the big scary black preacher is still an issue with a majority of people. He isn't. You have to do better than that.

I, for one, am much more concerned about one candidate who tends to 'misspeak', mismanage her campaign into at least $20 mil debt, alternately characterize herself as a fighter and as a victim of imagined sexism, actively courts the racist vote, and seems to be much more comfortable with the Republican way of doing things.

And then there's the Republican candidate who seems to believe that the entire country suffers from attention deficit disorder and isn't capable of realizing that he can't go more than about 3 days without flip-flopping on some issue. Not to mention the fact that he plans on doing precisely and exactly NOTHING about our current economic crisis...well, other than starting a THIRD war.

Yet all they seem to be able to dig up about Obama is that his preacher QUOTED some things that, taken out of context, led to the talking points that you like to spit out? Call me crazy, but the personal negatives the other candidates have displayed of themselves far outway the associative negative of Obama's ex-preacher.

Calling out Obama, his supporters and the media for misogynist attacks on Clinton.

The 21st century & still age of Misogyny.

For over 20 years , Barack Obama sat quietly while his spiritual mentor, Jeremiah Wright, maligned America, Jews and advanced conspiracy theories from the alter.
Over the past year, Obama sat quietly while the media and his supporters unfairly used sexism as a means to attack Hillary Clinton. Is this the leader, the unifier, the agent of change we"ve been waiting for?

Calling out Obama, his supporters and the media for misogynist attacks on Clinton.

The 21st century & still age of Misogyny.

Rudov, during discussion of Clinton, said " The woman is not called the B-word because she"s assertive and aggressive; she"s called the B-word because she acts like one". (Would this be tolerated if it was said about Obama?)

F..K Hillary. God knows she needs it. Anti-Hillary sign peddled by Obama supporter.

" There were tears that melted the Granite State. And those tears that Mrs. Clinton cried on that day, (it) clearly moved votersBut those tears also have to be analyzed. They have to be looked at very, very carefully in light of Katrina, in light of other things Mrs. Clinton died not cry for.
We saw something very clever, we saw a sensitivity factor. Something that Mrs. Clinton has not been able to do with voters Not in response to voters, not in response to Katrina, not in response to other issues that have devastated the American people, the war in Iraq, we saw tears in response to her appearance,. So her appearance brought her to tears, but not Katrina". Obama campaign Co-Chair Jesse Jackson, jr., Jan 9, 2008.

Calling out Obama, his supporters and the media for misogynist attacks on Clinton.

The 21st century & still age of Misogyny.

What kind of progressive American leader would stand silent, supporting with the cold reserve of ambition the disgracefully sexist, blatantly anti-feminist attack on a well- respected woman of the same party, a political foe perhaps, but a national Democratic leader?
Barak Obama so far.

Unless Obama speaks out, his campaign’s chilling acceptance of the gender bias stirred by our national media will also remind many of Reagan"s acceptance of the race-baiting southern strategy-because if Obama accepts the presidency, at least in part, because of abject sexism, a brutal gender attack on a female rival-the most famous female Democrat in history-he will set feminism in our country back a generation.

Obama has benefited mightily from sexism in this campaign, and has remained silent.

Journalist Tom Watson.

"The default candidate for Democrats in this race was always going to be Hillary Clinton because she"s Hillary Clinton as opposed to Hillary Rodham" Obama Oct 12, 2007.

Barack and Michelle Obama strolled triumphantly into his victory party in Des Moines, Iowa on Jan 3rd. Jay "Z"s "99 Problems" was blaring. In it, Jay-Z raps "I got 99 problems, but a b--ch ain"t one".

"Stay out of my village B--ch" anti-Hillary t-shirt for sale by Obama supporter.

Obama has been silent about a lot of things that he could have brought up about Hillary Clinton. He has always been respectful to her, she cannot say the same. After she ranted on about Farraknan and his need to denounce him, she traipsed around PA smiling with Ed Rendell her #1 supporter who was making the rounds on YouTube praising Farrakhan for his and Islam's work with families. And who could forget how lucky Obama is to be a black man in America by Ms. Ferraro, or Hillary smiling away and saying she can't control how people vote when questioned about a Hispanic leader and supporter who said she would never vote for Obama because he was black. It is hypocrisy like that that gets under the skin of Obama supporters.
Be glad you did not get what you ask for. Obama had a mountain of lies, scandals and convictions of the Clintons and their supporters past and present, but chose not to speak out about them. He could have mentioned the fraud trial going on right now in CA but he has chosen not too. Maybe you should be glad that Obama has not spoken out and does not display the same lack of ethics as Sen. Clinton.
And she loved it when SNL called her a B--ch. Loved it so much she went on the show and brought it up at the debate. Now she has a problem with it? Spare me.

If it's the map then what the voters have been doing electing a nominee for Dem? So, in contrast to her idea that "every vote counts', their votes for the nomination is a waste of time for everyone because their votes won't count for anything? Please, enough spin from the pathological liar and if some voters still don't see it, we deserve to lose the GE and don't say that it's because of Obama. He had fought an uphill battle against a tenacious opponent of a very well-known name and a mighty machine to finally won not only the pledged delegates but also the popular votes, superdelegate count, and number of states won. Those wins showed he had won white, black, young, old, new, middle class,... so a few last states of voters who don't vote for a black candidate won't change that fact. As for adding MI&FL votes? Clinton knew she would win if no one campaigns so she agreed to the rules of no campaigning at the beginning. She set a trap for other candidates to fall into and now she spins that it's the voters rights in those states to count them. what about voters who didn't vote knowing theirs wouldn't be counted? Voters in other states where she won before voters know more about Obama such as CA,... would want to revote too. Clinton is so desperate to spin anything to change the rules.

I've been hearing HIllary just now ranting against fossil fuels, which in itself isn't a bad rant, but neglecting to acknowledge that ethanol. an alternative fuel her husband is heavily invested in and for which she obtained $50 mil in government subsidies, is causing food prices to rise, most especially in poor countries where starvation is a fact of life.

that's another statement without basis in fact. ethanol has been around for 10 years without raising the price of food. other factors are raising food prices.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:39 AM on 05/19/2008

Yes ethanol hads been around, but in the last few years the demand for it has risen (worldwide more and more farmers are subsidized to grow corn specifically for ethanol) and so prices are skyrocketing.
