Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign is increasingly aiming its punches not at her front-running opponent Barack Obama, but at the media.
On the campaign trail, in a new ad and in her meetings with donors and superdelegates, she blasts the D.C. punditocracy for counting her out and urges anyone who'll listen to ignore the hardening storyline that places Obama as the Democratic presidential nominee.

On the contrary the media have been exceedingly gentle on Hilary. She has gotten through this electoral procees without once being questioned on her past shady deals, her failure on health care, etc.
After Hillary fails to win in Puerto Rico, she'll insist that the overseas soldiers returns must be counted. Then the american embassies abrod! Then the ever-important constituancy in the international space station! Then the pets of the soldiers! Meanwhile, her talking heads will be moving the goalposts daily, until Obama needs 12,602 delegates secured before Hillary will consent to give up the fight. If not, her spindoctors will proclaim, it's on to the convention!!
Clarification: I mean after Hillary fails to get the total delegate majority after Puerto Rico. Have to clarify that, or the Concern Trolls will jump up and down screaming (because Hillary is the odds-on favorite to win in PR).

I agree. I also agree with those who say that the party leaders and many superdelegates owe the Clintons plenty and that is why none of them are demanding that she get out---for the good of the party. If this is true, it's politics as usual, the old boy, slap-em-on
this system of reciprocity whether or not the people being paid back are competent or not is the old system and we are looking for something new. Without these chits being honored MRS Clinton would never have had the support to enter the race. She has proven she doesn't have the management skills to run a campaign let alone a nation.
The media helped keep her campaign alive when it had become mathematically obvious that she wouldn't get enough delegates to win. It gave them a chance to keep the fantasy game alive and give them a story that they kept pumping up long after it ceased to be a story. They have finally recognized reality when the math became simple enough for their dim minds to grasp.
Since she has turned on them, will they turn on her? Probably. Our new train wreck celebrity. Pretty bizarre.
I believe I heard recently that the media coverage in the primaries was nothing compared to the pressure of being in the White House every day.
Therefore "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

I hate the fact that Hillary is trying to pass off her poor loser attitude as a crusade against sexism. I see from the article that she may think the big boys are pushing her out. I don't think Hillary thinks that nat all---she is pretending to think it. I hope I never hear from her camp again that Obama plays the race card every five minutes---I've never seen anyone take as shameless advantage of womens' fear and resentment of sexism, as Hillary has in this campaign.
if anything I'd venture to say that Hialry has actually caused more harm to a woman's chances of one day rising to be president of the USA.

I've read it, and I am not convinced. I do think she is up to something but I doubt it's trying to get her supporters to not vote until 2012. I could be wrong. As for the diarist asking that none of us say anything that could possibly be m isconstrued as sexist, all because Hillary is playing the gender card all the time, I think that's a bit much. I don't think we should have to analyze our every word before we say it just in case Hillary wants to make something of it, that is just encouraging her to get worse. Hillary needs to grow up, right now she is acting about 12 years old. Or less.
Maybe Hillary would make a better president ... I guess we'll never know will we?

Wasn't she the one that said to Obama after the last debate in regards to the media, "If you can't stand heat, get out of the kitchen?" Didn't Bill make fun of Obama for saying that the questions asked of him during the debate had no relevance to the American people.

Damn it Hillary. Just quit whining about how everyone is against you and accept your fate. Make the best of what life has handed you, and do not put us through these excessively paranoid conspiracy theories. Nobody is arrayed against you. The people (with the exception of white middle aged appalachian bigots) have decided to give it to Obama. Not everything is all about you. Not everything is all about sexism. Maybe we all just decided to support somebody else. I know, the concept that anybody might prefer someone else is foreign to you, but since this is a democracy, that is the chance you take. The press is going where the news is, thats all. Again, it is not all about you, or women, or even those good ol boys who are supporting you..

Poor Hillary. It's everyboy else's fault. After all, if she was a Republican, she'd be the nominee by now. And she even said herself she'd put Republicans in her cabinet. Lord knows she managed her campaign like a Republican.
Maybe we'll get to watch her have a nervous breakdown and get carted off to the funny farm. wouldn' that be too bad. But she's got the Senates healthcare plan, so she'll get the best of care.
