Politico:

Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign is increasingly aiming its punches not at her front-running opponent Barack Obama, but at the media.

On the campaign trail, in a new ad and in her meetings with donors and superdelegates, she blasts the D.C. punditocracy for counting her out and urges anyone who'll listen to ignore the hardening storyline that places Obama as the Democratic presidential nominee.

"You won't have Richard Nixon to kick around any more" comes to mind.

Yes, as an "old white woman", longtime Democrat and former Clinton supporter, I find it sad that the Clintons will blame everyone but themselves when Obama finally is nominated and a Clinton supporter named as VP. If the Clintons had run an ethical campaign instead of an underhanded, racially divisive one no one in the Obama camp would object to Hillary as VP; they would have welcomed her and unified the party. Instead Hillary started out arrogant and ended up down and dirty, and now she won't even be VP let alone president. Instead of blaming the media for her current situation Hillary should look at her husband and in the mirror. No one wants her, and it's all her own fault. The way you play the game DOES matter, especially if you're the loser.

From hillary's own mouth:

"I think that I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House. Sen. John McCain has a lifetime of experience that he'd bring to the White House. And Sen. Obama has a speech he gave in 2002."

Hillary is not up to taking on Corporate, or prosecuting subversive Neo Cons, or shutting down the fourteen mega bases, or truly ever leaving the Middle East.

In case you haven't noticed; she's Corporate and favors Neo Con goals. A constitutionalist Clinton is not. Both McCain and Clinton satisfy Neo Con needs equally. Both are Corporate elitists. Both claim to be fit for the presidency.

Who would pardon Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales, Junior, or Pinky Rove faster? McCain or Clinton?

Sorry, the previous comment in response to reasonismyreligion.

Link for primary voter turnout for all states up to date:

reasonismyreligion (in your situation, a ludicrously unbefitting name):

Primary voter turnout, even in 2008, is still much lower than previous general election turnouts. Most states so far have recorded around 30% of all registered voters participating in the primaries, with only NH breaking 50%.

Yet 2000 & 2004 general election turnout was 60%. So how a Democratic candidate performs in most Democratic primaries is not at all indicative of how they will perform in a general election.

It IS the math, stupid.

And BTW, even if we use your speculative analysis, besides CO & IA, there are actually 2 more pro-Obama, anti-Clinton states: OR and NV. These 4 states are 28 EVs, or the equivalent of 1 Florida.

In addition, there are also 2 states that are pro-Obama, but Clinton is only maybe: NM and WA, or 16 EVs (1 New Jersey).

There are also 5 states that Obama is within striking distance, but Clinton is far out of reach: NC, SC, NE, SD, and AK, for a total of 34 EVs, or 1 Texas.

With Obama, Republicans will need to spread out their diminished resources over many battleground states. But with Clinton, they can just focus on the traditional big battlegrounds like MI, PA, OH, etc.

Clinton's hypothetical hopes gamble on a "Put all your eggs in a few big states" strategy (we all know how that's worked out the past couple elections), while Obama's is more 50-states.

"Reason is my religion," my *.

Sky2even, where are you getting your figures for primary turnouts? Just curious. On wikipedia it says the popular votes are as follows:

John Kerry 9,930,497
John Edwards 3,162,337
Howard Dean 903,460

HRC and OB have roughly 17,000,000 votes each. How is that a lower turnout?

Nevermind, i reread your post and realize you were comparing it to the general. It's late and I'm on the east coast :)

Great post. Right now Obama is lucky to win 237 EVs and flips only CO, loses others and puts many more into play than Clinton. She constantly gets between 65 and 76 more EVs than Obama against McCain in most credible models. Obama right now and for months and a quarter of a billion dollars later, gets 15 less than Kerry and 30 less than Gore, both losers.

why would you think this insipid statement would be censored? you have a right to support your candidate and no one can make her give up? What I find distasteful about her behavior is the lies, the attempt to change the rules of the game when they do not support her, and her lack of real experience. FL and MI were not to count because they broke the rules and caucus states count no matter how much she would rather they didn't.

I must say that this past week NOT having seen Hillary given one moment in the media/TV was pure bliss.

Now it is back to reality this coming Tuesday w/Oregon/Kentucky primaries. She is set for another BIG win in Kentucky. Again, the balloons will fall, confetti will fly and we will see her smiling face once again . Hillary is so OLD news.

If she looks around long enough for someone to blame, she might just end up looking in the mirror! Only there will she find the reason she lost.

Don't forget Hillary is a victim...firstly Republicans conspiracy, then Barack Obama and his campaign...now media...I would say POOR HILLARY...but I don't because of this :

Contempt for Women: The world got its first glimpse of Hillary’s shabby character when she was co-running for the co-presidency in 1992 and – with what turned out to be supreme irony – told Steve Kroft on "60 Minutes" that she "wouldn't be some 'stand by your man' woman like [country-music icon] Tammy Wynette."

Her low regard for women continued through the 1990s as the White House went after many but certainly not all of the president's women – Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey, and Elizabeth Ward Gracen – by auditing their tax returns, and, in 1997, leaking Paula Jones' confidential tax returns to the press.

According to Candace E. Jackson in her book, “The Women Targeted by the Clinton Machine,” Hillary “was right there in the inner circle taking a lead in giving these women zero credibility, in attacking them in public and through the press and in participating in all of these scare tactics, like hiring private investigators to threaten them and follow them…[she] is either as misogynistic as her husband or she is simply willing to conspire to mistreat women if that's what it takes to preserve their political careers."

You bring up an interesting point. Would love to see a book on "The Women Targeted by the Kennedy Machine," except that it would never make it into print.

She should stay in the race. She provides a distraction for Obama to bounce off. Once she is gone, and we get a steady diet of Barack Obama, we'll become painfully aware that aside from his inspiring speechifying ability, the guy can't think quickly on his feet, can't explain the details of his policies, and is actually a pedantic bore.

Nice joke...but in one you are right...HRC would stay in race because of principle...nobody would ever push somebody out of election just because they want to. If she has money and support then she can run...it is called DEMOCRACY.
Of course she can't win anymore but at least we have something to discuss about.

Strange how reality entirely disagrees with your assessment.

Oh, and so do political and sociological analysts as well as politicians who know him. So it doesn't really matter what you believe.

Actually, Trueheart isn't that far off the mark.

When he was on MTP a few weeks ago, Obama discussed his own energy policy. After criticizing the gas tax holiday proposal and then pandering on ethanol, Obama said not much of anything. He was for the good and against the bad, but with no specific policy recommendations whatsoever. Unless you consider this a specific policy recommendation:

Step One: Collect Underpants
Step Three: Profit

which is a more amusing way of saying "Clean Kentucky Coal".

First it's the math with her perception of the numbers constantly changing now it's the map?! Her campaign is broke, Obama has more pledged delegates, more states won. more popular vote...money in the bank. All that without dodging sniper fire. That woman can't run a campaign let alone a country.

I love your enlightened democratic attitude EGAL. Perhaps the political and sociological analysts and politicians have a better grasp on reality than little old me. After all, they've done such a marvelous job directing the course of our country's growth and development over the past 30 years, I'm sure they know best.

OK, this is to an earlier post. I offered a direct quote from Obama about him basically saying Arkansas is closer to Kentucky than Illinois is. I pointed out that Illinois is a neighboring state to KY while Arkansas is further away. Your responded to it like I was talking about the 57 states gaffe he made.

Since you "live on facts" as you say, I found it interesting that YOU are the one who wanted to discuss the misspeak he made (although it was an interesting one) and ignore the fact that I put out there for you.

By the way, thanks for the explanation about the reply button bit...I ignored your sarcasm.
